Human history is marked by a dramatic dialectic of “destruction” and “reconstruction”, the record of which has itself often been lost. Yet memories of tragic destructions and often heroic reconstructions remain ingrained in the history, archaeology, and myths of all civilizations. Whereas the predominant contemporary ideology of architecture seems to prefer “deconstruction” and the consecration of an imagery of fragmentation and desolation, the Reconstruction of Aleppo project proposes a traditional strategy of material and moral reconstruction. Such reconstruction seeks not only to repair and recompose the form and meaning of homes and places but also to allow for reconciliation and healing, as well as confidence and identity.

Satellites are currently the most effective means to achieve seamless global coverage of the Internet. Due to the frequent beam switching caused by the high-speed movement of satellites, it is too expensive to directly apply the location management strategy in the terrestrial network to the satellite Internet constellation (SIC). To build a web browsing platform based on satellite Internet, it is necessary to display the location of satellites and terminals in real time. For this reason, this paper proposes the location management strategy of SIC. It uses the characteristics of large and periodic satellite beam coverage in a certain period of time, redesigns the location management database structure, location registration mechanism and call delivery mechanism, and analyses and simulates the bit cost of location management. The result proves that compared with the traditional strategy, this strategy greatly reduces the cost of SIC.

In this work, a third-order sliding mode controller-based direct flux and torque control (DFTC-TOSMC) for an asynchronous generator (AG) based single-rotor wind turbine (SRWT) is proposed. The traditional direct flux and torque control (DFTC) technology or direct torque control (DTC) with integral proportional (PI) regulator (DFTC-PI) has been widely used in asynchronous generators in recent years due to its higher efficiency compared with the traditional DFTC switching strategy. At the same time, one of its main disadvantages is the significant ripples of magnetic flux and torque that are produced by the classical PI regulator. In order to solve these drawbacks, this work was designed to improve the strategy by removing these regulators. The designed strategy was based on replacing the PI regulators with a TOSMC method that will have the same inputs as these regulators. The numerical simulation was carried out in MATLAB software, and the results obtained can evaluate the effectiveness of the designed strategy relative to the traditional strategy.

Breakthrough innovations can spur growth in the modern era industry to realise sustainability and high returns on investments. Nowadays, biobased innovations for application in diverse industry sectors are considered as future pillars to counter resource depletion and ensure positive environmental impacts. Cassava is a strong flagship biomaterial promoting solution for resource-efficient use and green environment. Innovative industrial application of cassava biomaterials enriches literature, presenting cassava as a versatile and unrivalled crop that is cardinal for more sustainable environment and biodegradable industrial products. Work on novel cassava biomaterials, which are low-cost, unexploited and with zero competition for food supply, are included. Using an integrated sustainable process, it shows how to indirectly reduce waste streams, through their effective use, guaranteeing zero carbon footprints and acting as a non-traditional strategy for equilibrium atmosphere and active packaging systems. Applications of Cassava biomaterial in food, as food supplements and in packaging systems are also covered in this chapter.

Aim. This work presents the amelioration of direct power control using synergetic-super twisting algorithms for asynchronous generators integrated into dual-rotor wind turbine systems. Method. The main role of the direct power control is to control the active and reactive powers and reduce the harmonic distortion of stator current of asynchronous generator for variable speed dual-rotor wind turbine systems. The traditional strategy is more attractive due to its high efficiency and simple algorithm. Super twisting algorithms are a non-linear command strategy; characterized by robustness against the parameters change or disturbances, it gives a good power quality under different conditions such as changing generator parameters. Novelty. Synergetic-super twisting algorithms are designed. Synergetic-super twisting algorithms construction is based on synergetic command and super twisting algorithms in order to obtain a robust control strategy and a fast system with acceptable precision. We use in our study a 1.5 MW asynchronous generator integrated to dual-rotor wind turbine system in order to regulate the active and reactive powers. Results. As shown in the results figures using synergetic-super twisting algorithms the ameliorate performances especially minimizes the torque, active and reactive power undulations, and reduces harmonic distortion of stator current (THD = 0.19 %) compared to traditional strategy.

This paper presents a non-traditional strategy of group formation that engages students in utilizing prior learned knowledge to solve problems at a collaborative learning classroom. Through the grouping process students communicate mathematical thinking with their peers and physically moving around to find their matching cards and group parteners. The grouping process warms up students to launch an active learning mode. Although the grouping method was implemented in the mathematics content course for preservice elementary teachers and the capstone course for preservice secondary mathematics teachers, it could perfectly fit different types of classrooms including grades K-12 or college level.

Abstract Being a critical factor affecting the motion accuracy of precision machine tools, structural thermal elongation of precision ball screw unit is generally caused by the comprehensive influence from heat generations of screw-nut pair / bearings and time-varying ambient temperature. To resist 2 thermal disturbances above to guarantee precisely the original length of screw shaft, an active coolant control strategy is proposed in this paper. This strategy is based on an empirical model: For the slender and long tubular structure of screw shaft, the screw shaft temperature is approximately equal to its recirculating coolant temperature. The reason is that the intensive forced coolant convection is capable of eliminating screw shaft temperature rises caused by friction heat generations and ambient air convections. Based on this premise, screw coolant temperature can be consistently controlled by an active strategy, further to correct the thermal elongation of screw shaft. It can be experimentally verified that the thermal variations of machine positioning accuracy caused by the active coolant control strategy are not more than 10µm, which are lower than traditional strategy. Besides, based on detected structural temperatures of precision ball screw unit, the empirical model above is further proved to be reliable by FE simulation method.

AbstractElucidating the timescale of the evolution of Alphaproteobacteria, one of the most prevalent microbial lineages in marine and terrestrial ecosystems, is key to testing hypotheses on their co-evolution with eukaryotic hosts and Earth’s systems, which, however, is largely limited by the scarcity of bacterial fossils. Here, we incorporate eukaryotic fossils to date the divergence times of Alphaproteobacteria, based on the mitochondrial endosymbiosis that mitochondria evolved from an alphaproteobacterial lineage. We estimate that Alphaproteobacteria arose ~1900 million years (Ma) ago, followed by rapid divergence of their major clades. We show that the origin of Rickettsiales, an order of obligate intracellular bacteria whose hosts are mostly animals, predates the emergence of animals for ~700 Ma but coincides with that of eukaryotes. This, together with reconstruction of ancestral hosts, strongly suggests that early Rickettsiales lineages had established previously underappreciated interactions with unicellular eukaryotes. Moreover, the mitochondria-based approach displays higher robustness to uncertainties in calibrations compared with the traditional strategy using cyanobacterial fossils. Further, our analyses imply the potential of dating the (bacterial) tree of life based on endosymbiosis events, and suggest that previous applications using divergence times of the modern hosts of symbiotic bacteria to date bacterial evolution might need to be revisited.

In any instructive field educational programs, the courses are characterized with learning goals. It is exceptionally challenging for the instructors to create Question Papers with changed questions. There's no standardizing strategy to guarantee quality of question paper. Consequently, there arises a have to be have a framework which can consequently produce it from we entered information inside few seconds. It’s basic to specify tests and exams, it plans understudies in their journey for information, so having a legitimate examination paper & organize is essential. Now the traditional strategy of producing address paper has been manual and it is exceptionally time and cost expending to diminish these things we developed this framework which is able make the programmed address paper and this it can be valuable to numerous instructive establishing.
