Abstract The existence of urban forests in the middle of residential areas will provide added value for beauty, comfort, and environmental health that could increase the value of land and buildings in the residential area. Residential-type urban forests need to be well designed so that they are compatible with the type of building and match the residential environment’s conditions. The purpose of this design is to create an appealing, multi-benefit urban forest design, which includes aspects of the urban forest theme concept, zoning arrangement, and vegetation arrangement, including species composition, density, and planting pattern. The outcome of the design resulted in a residential type, urban forest design by the theme of RINDU BCR Urban Forest (Relaxation, Inspiration, and Education for Buana Cicalengka Raya). The RINDU BCR Urban Forest functions as (1) a place of relaxation, (2) seeking positive inspiration, and (3) environmental education for the community. The planting pattern design consists of four types, namely: (1) opposite line pattern; (2) zigzag line pattern; (3) single line pattern, and (4) mixed pattern. The front-facing area of the RINDU BCR Urban Forest is designed by planting tree species that have the criteria of being ornamental, providing shade and safety, having a height of more than 300 cm, and a diameter of more than 10 cm.

The basic meaning of the paradox, which consists of the Greek words "money" (counter) and "doxa" (thought-intention), is opposing thought. However, the meaning gained over time; is contradiction and contrast. The aspect facing life is; A discrepancy between facts and what has been done is an illogicality. To be more specific, it is the opposite line between what a person should be and what he or she should experience. This situation can be associated with "three monkey syndrome", which is a social insensitivity problem in terms of behavior similarity. This situation is a paradox that occupies humanity as a line that causes social and personal problems. It is reflected in life as a serious problem in terms of both deceiving oneself and having wrong attitudes towards others. The solution to this paradox is to try to live without getting away from the facts through knowledge and reason. Keywords: Ostrich, facts, interest, weaknesses, paradox.

Oil theft in the Niger Delta, where the Nigerian economy derives its mainstay, has now acquired the front burner in oil and gas scholarly discourse because of the alarming regularity of the scourge. Several perspectives have emerged in the narratives particularly in the ideological spectrum, but there appears to be conflicting policies directed toward combating the challenge of theft. This paper, which adopts the doctrinal research methodology, examines the twin issues of deregulation and security for the critical assets—the oil installations and pipeline facilities. While government investigation panels, that have critically studied the problems, have advised for deregulation, the State appears to be treading the opposite line of retaining the commanding heights and engaging militants and natives in securing the assets. This approach has not encouraged private initiatives and indigenous technology transfer but has put the State on the defensive and therefore requires shift.

The article presents possible solutions of the issue of the lost capacity on a double-track line. It is shown a solution where an inserted train on the double-track line use the lost capacity of the opposite line track using active overtaking. The feasibility of such a solution is discussed and the length of sections suitable for active overtaking is calculated.

A miniaturized dual-frequency dual-polarization microstrip patch antenna with high isolation between receiving and transmitting ports (operating at 2.1 GHz for receiving and at 2.5 GHz for transmitting) is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of a modified rectangular radiating patch, two 50 Ω microstrip feed lines, and two EBG filters. Two coupling microstrip lines are employed to excite two orthogonal fundamental modes (TM10and TM01). The high isolation is achieved by embedding two novel EBG filters underneath two feed lines to reject the incoming signal from the opposite line. Multilayer configuration, miniaturized EBG filters, and modified rectangular radiation patch contribute to size reduction. The total size is 0.67λ × 0.67λ × 0.03λ , only quarter of the multilayer rectangular radiation patch antenna (1.33λ × 1.33λ × 0.03λ) using common EBG filters with the same performance. Measured results on the reflection coefficients, isolations, and gains for the two frequencies are provided, which agree well with the numerical simulations. Also, measured isolations and radiation patterns at both two resonant frequencies are compared with the antenna without filters. The results show that the proposed method improves isolation by more than 20 dB with little influence on the radiation patterns.

A new model is proposed, in the context of Axelrod's model for the study of cultural dissemination, to include an external vector field (VF) which describes the effects of mass media on social systems. The VF acts over the whole system and it is characterized by two parameters: a nonnull overlap with each agent in the society and a confidence value of its information. Beyond a threshold value of the confidence, there is induced monocultural globalization of the system lined up with the VF. Below this value, the multicultural states are unstable and certain homogenization of the system is obtained in opposite line up according to that we have called negative publicity effect. Three regimes of behavior for the spread process of the VF information as a function of time are reported.

Experimental results of normal and tangential pressures on a buried silo wall caused by buried charge explosions are presented in the paper. The measured pressures depended on the charge mass, and its burial depth and distance from the silo front. Pressures were measured by sensors attached to the silo wall at different depths along to four diametrically opposite line generators located at the front, rear and two sides. The influence of each parameter is analyzed and discussed.
