The purpose of this article is to analyse the technologies used in current pedagogical practices in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) classroom, in particular geography. It is argued that supporting children to be digitally literate is one of the keys to effective learning in the 21st Century. This article is based on potential practical applications of new technologies and ICTs, and linking them to the Australian Curriculum: Geography. As a preservice teacher, how can I best integrate the use of ICTs and use them to responsibility to enhance the learning of my future students? What quality and variety of ICT resources are available to us, as preservice teachers that will encourage creativity and motivate students and cater for all types of learners in the classroom? Fast, interactive and multimodal ICTs can assist teachers and students to explore the exciting ‘big ideas’ in the HASS classroom and with ICTs including Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems all around us, it makes for new and innovative pedagogy.

At the time of globalization, a need for teachers of English is growing. Teachers who teach English without environmental support are called teachers of English as a foreign language, or EFL teachers. EFL teachers are divided into native English-speaking teachers (NESTs) and non-native English-speaking teachers (NNESTs). To gain a greater understanding of NESTs’ of EFL and NNESTs’ of EFL work, I reviewed research on the teachers’ knowledge and beliefs and classroom practices and compared and contrasted those. Such comparing and contrasting showed that there are both similarities and differences between the teachers’ knowledge and beliefs and classroom practices.

The implementation of e-learning is getting more vigorous as the revolution of industry 4.0 has also affected the education domain. The E-learning system must be planned comprehensively and educational institutions cannot run the system suddenly. Education in Indonesia should be run at home, including higher education. The purpose of this research was to determine and to compare the implementation of e-learning in the Physical Education (PE) Department in public and private college. Data were collected using a questionnaire adapted from e-learning readiness factors and national rules of e-learning implementation. Based on score, the PE department in Sports Faculty did better e-learning than STKIP PGRI Trenggalek, but both institutions had many aspects that had to be leveled up and improved to keep the learning meaningful and of high quality.

Technology has been available for use in schools for several decades. Nevertheless many schools and teachers are still pondering issues related to integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into education. While ICT is used in classroom education, integration of technology into teaching and learning has not yet been achieved. This study analyzes the barriers to educational technology use and what measures are taken to overcome them. Digitalisation is not merely a question of providing equipment, but rather a change in ways of thinking and learning, and the support offered to teachers should take this into consideration.

The teaching world is shifting towards the creation of collaborative knowledge. This study proposes a tool to examine willingness to engage in collaborative learning: a valid and reliable questionnaire based on Cognitive Orientation theory. Factor analysis yielded four factors affecting willingness to engage in collaborative learning: difficulties, benefits, promoting individuals’ interests, and the ability to rely on others. Significant differences were found in the willingness to collaborate in regard to the difference between each of these factors as actually experienced and its ideal. These differences were also evident in the qualitative genre analyzed according to the Theory of Personality.

This study used survey research design to explore the purposes and outcomes of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree programs in the Philippines. Using purposive sampling of professors and students, this study identified the ability of IT education to meet its purposes by way of validating its current outcomes. The study also provided a clear indication of how the outcomes were perceived differently based on how the respondents experienced the actual IT education curriculum. Although the results show some favourable agreements among the respondents, statistical findings reveal underlying issues related to the implementation of outcomes-based IT education system in the country. This calls for the active role of higher education institutions (HEIs) offering BSIT programs to take another, more careful look at the entire curriculum structure of the degree program, as it serves as the foundation of effective and efficient IT education, which will lead towards sustainable national development.

Understanding trainers’ perceptions of innovation is the key to successful adoption of technology in learning. The purpose of this paper was to examine the level of trainers’ perception on Information Communication Technology (ICT) integration into teaching and learning of engineering courses in National polytechnics in Kenya. This study used mixed method research. The target population in this study was 140 engineering staff and the trainees, Heads of departments and Principals of Kisumu and Eldoret Nationa l Polytechnic and Kenya Technical Trainers College. Primary data was used, which was collected using structured questionnaires and interview schedules. Simple random sampling was used to identify the respondents from the relevant departments to participate in this study, while purposive sampling was used to select the principals to be interviewed. Reliability and validity of data collection instruments were ascertained through pilot testing. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, while qualitative data generated from the interview schedules was organized through content scrutiny. The results indicated that the level of trainers’ perception has a significant effect on ICT integration into teaching and learning. It was concluded that trainers are willing to undergo training to equip them with new knowledge in ICT to improve their productivity. It was recommended that the National Polytechnic management, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, should carry out assessment of skills and needs as far as ICT integration is concerned.
