Management decisions are always based on a set of non-random options. Each option is spiritual in nature. Faced with uncertainty, a person makes his choice not from random alternatives, but within the framework of the situation presented to him by God. In fact, a person makes his choice between virtue and passion, good and evil.

The style characteristic of scientific works of theology differs greatly from the scientific style of other fields of science, but it also shows many common characteristics and similarities with them. The specific methodology of theology as well as the peculiarities of its scientific knowledge inevitably affect the extralinguistic and intralinguistic features of theological scientific works. The lexical layer of language is the most prominent representative of each field of science individually, and of the theology as well. This paper deals with the issue of the specific features of the linguistic level of university textbooks of theology. In the analysis of the mentioned problem the author has conducted and applied the results of the statistical analysis of the representative corpus of the university textbooks and academic works of theology, and, where possible and necessary, the contrastive analysis has been applied.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the history of the development of the system of diocesan administrations of the unrecognized Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (BAOC). Formed in 1948–1949, the named religious organization over the next several decades was an influential center for the consolidation of the Belarusian post-war Diaspora. The activities of the parishes of the BAOC were not limited to the organization of services and involved the conduct of social, cultural, educational, publishing and other work. In turn, the control, management and coordination of parish activities largely depended on the principles of organizing diocesan administration. On the basis of the study, it is concluded that the volume of administrative powers of the episcopate is gradually reduced and the role of the laity in the administration of dioceses is strengthened. The noted instability of the diocesan structures of the BAOC in the period under review is explained by the high degree of dependence of the diocesan affiliation of parishes on the relationship with a particular hierarch.

The article is devoted to the concept of the „new sacredness” in Orthodox music. The „new sacredness” is a term that has appeared in this field for some time. The article will analyze all the sources of this term. Church singing is designed to help the believer during the divine service in a conversation with God. Orthodox music and its influence should create an appropriate atmosphere that brings a person closer to God. The conductor and the composer play a very important role in this program. They have a great responsibility, because their main task is to help believers reach God.

The word “Allah” is associated usually with Islam. However, this term had been used among Arab Christians much earlier before the rise of Islam. Arabic language has been used in Orthodox service for almost 2000 years, so many terms have been developed long time ago. Among the most basic terms are the ones that call God and describe Him. They are used in the hymnography and prayers, sermons, articles and everyday life. However, in Polish literature those terms are still little known. Since Arabic belongs to the Semitic family of languages, its character is very different from Greek, Church Slavonic and Polish, and this affects a different point of view on some theological terms and also their variety. It also results in wealth of the terms related to God. The main reason of the differences in comparison with European languages is specific system of the Arabic language: the system of roots and themes. This is specified in the introductory part. The most basic terms related to God are presented and analyzed below. The terms are taken mainly from the liturgical texts, and some of them also from the Holy Scripture and sermons. Each term is also written in Church Slavonic to make it easier for the reader to understand it, since the Polish Orthodox terminology has not yet been established and unified. Each Arabic term is written in the original notation and ISO transcription used by Arabists in Poland.

Dormition of the Mother of God is one of the most solemnly celebrated feasts in the Orthodox liturgical year. It has a rich hymnography, including an additional rite of the Funeral of the Mother of God. The texts of the feast are largely inspired by the hymnography of the Holy Week, and especially Holy Saturday. This paper presents, on the example of the feast of the Dormition, a general phenomenon of intertextuality in hymnography. Mutual interpenetration of hymns appears in the context of many feasts and many saints.

The article shows the problems related to the attempt to systematize the modern Orthodox Church law. It points to discrepancies related to the source corpus adopted in individual local Churches, as well as shortcomings or understatements in canon law. The final part of the article touches upon the issue of assessing the complementarity of the source materials in Polish, as well as the difficulties associated with the lack of a systematized terminology of Orthodox church law in Polish.
