Most researches on psychological contract are conducted in the banking sector while limited local enquiries focused on the experiences of the survivor-managers in developing economy particularly in Nigeria. This study therefore, examines the cultural factors influencing PC experiences and responses among survivor-managers in Nigeria. The study adopted a qualitative approach and more specifically interviews. Data were analysed using empirically driven thematic analysis. The findings revealed that; unemployment, values of dependency, corruption, family obligations, beliefs, spirituality among others shape attitudes and responses of the survivor-managers' with respect to downsizing exercise. Therefore, human resource managers who are part of the downsizing exercise should embrace open and transparent process as well as being sensitive to the wellbeing of the victims and survivors to reduce the negative psychological contract experiences and responses among Survivor-managers. In addition, the research created awareness on the need to diversify research in terms of methods adopted.


The study investigated the impact of strategic management on organisational performance in Cadbury Nigeria Plc. The study adopted survey research design in generating data. Primary data were obtained through structured questionnaires using a sample size of 100 for top, middle, and lower level management of the organisation using stratified sampling technique. Descriptive and regression analysis were used to test the three hypotheses that guided the study. The study reveals that there was a weak positive relationship between Strategic Management variables and organisational performance indicators varied at 28.9% with p - value (P < 0.05). The study thus concluded that though strategic management is not yet a common business practice in Cadbury Nigeria Plc., it has been identified as veritable tool for improving the competitiveness, performance levels, and structural development of Cadbury Nigeria Plc. Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general. The researcher recommended that organisation should incorporate strategic management principles into their programs. This will engender sound managerial know-how and boost the performance and competiveness of firms in Nigeria.


Although the importance of HR Analytics in literature and practice is elevating however the paradox still exists. The articles addressing HR Analytics are still quite limited that resulted in sparse evidence on the topic. Consequently, this is a conceptual paper that aims to figure out if there is a relationship between HR Analytics Building Blocks’ and Organizational Triple Bottom line. The study will be using quantitative data through a survey method and a structured survey questionnaire that will be distributed among middle managers of oil and gas service companies operating in the upstream sector in Egypt. The collected data will be analysed using the Structure Equation Modelling (SEM). All kinds of tests will be conducted in order to assure the validity and reliability of the measure.
