The purpose of this research is to explain a phenomena that happened in the Indonesian microinsurance business. Using the case study technique, we observed that microinsurance is still difficult to develop based on the overall population of Indonesians. If the main idea of micro insurance is applied, micro insurance products are still widely available in big cities but have yet to reach low-income individuals or UMKM. A breakthrough is necessary to produce microinsurance. This microinsurance business must be developed through a network of local communities, which are usually located in the lower middle class, or UMKM. Aside from that, marketers must have a set of tools at their disposal, such as a suitable ICT-based market (community) database. As a result, any microinsurance business formed must be targeted to the demands of the Indonesian government, such as microinsurance for agricultural, livestock, and fisherman, particularly in rural regions. Meanwhile, the most enticing micro insurance enterprises for metropolitan regions are personal accidents, property, and motor and vehicles.   Keywords: Micro, UMKM, Insurance, Marketing.

Access to social protection interventions, such as social assistance, social insurance and private insurance, in South Africa is limited. For that reason, plugging the holes in the safety net is undoubtedly one of the most pressing challenges facing South Africa in its quest to design a comprehensive social protection system. The point is that vulnerable persons, just like any other persons, have to contend with social risks (for example, death, poor health, invalidity, etcetera). As a result, similarly to all other persons, they require protection against these risks. It is clear that the current social protection interventions (particularly social insurance, social assistance and privateinsurance) fail to protect every person in need of such protection adequately in South Africa. Thus, the contribution sets out to investigate the prospects of micro-insurance being used as an instrument to extend social protection coverage to the excluded and marginalized persons in South Africa.

The main objective of this study is to examine the effect of microfinance services on the socio-economic welfare of urban households in Malaysia. We distribute questionnaires to 400 respondents across three different urban areas in Malaysia in order to collect the relevant data for this study. Quota sampling is employed in the process of collecting the data. Incorporating income as a mediating variable into the model, the results show that most of the services provided by the microfinance institutions including microcredit, micro insurance and training have significant effect on socio-economic welfare. Income is also observed to have a significant impact on socio-economic welfare. With the exception of training, the microfinance services also have significant impact on income. The results further show that most of the microfinance services have indirect effect on welfare through income. The recommendations of this study are detailed in the body of the paper.

The Micro-Finance sector has been identified as one of the main sectors that contributes to the eradication of poverty and to empowering women in developing countries. Women’s Entrepreneurship is considered an emerging trend among nations and contributes to the development of a country. It is also identified as an important means to end poverty and therefore, female empowerment through entrepreneurship has been well recognized. Micro-finance enables women’s entrepreneurial success; however, the context of the urban sector has not been well examined in the literature since most scholars perceive that poverty is mainly confined to the rural areas of a country. There are many services provided by the Micro- Finance sector. However, it is vital to identify their impact on Women’s Entrepreneurial success, particularly in the urban sector of the country. Accordingly, this study focuses on examining the impact of Micro-Finance, which includes Micro-Credit, Micro-Savings and Micro-Insurance, on Women’s Entrepreneurial success in Sri Lanka, specifically in the Colombo district. 240 women entrepreneurs who have obtained micro financial services in the Colombo district were used as the sample of this study. The article is aimed at studying the theoretical and practical aspects of factors influencing the development of voluntary health insurance (VHI) in Ukraine. The place and indicators of development of the health insurance market in Ukraine for 2012-2019 are researched. The dynamics of health insurance market indicators based on the amount of gross insurance premiums and payments is analyzed; it is proved that voluntary health insurance (continuous health insurance) is characterized by growth during the last five years. The factors that significantly influenced the development of the market and the current state of voluntary health insurance, in particular the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic crisis, high incidence rates of insured persons, the significant cost of an insurance medical policy, the lack of tax preferences for business regarding medical social packages and the lack of specialized educational institutions on the VHI, are determined. The classification of factors of influence on the development of voluntary health insurance according to the level of their occurrence is carried out, and it is determined that the following factors have the greatest force of influence on the VHI: deterioration of solvency of potential insurers; pricing in the medical market; excessive tax burden for legal entities. It is substantiated that the indisputable way of motivating the introduction of voluntary health insurance is to amend the tax legislation of Ukraine; micro insurance is proposed as a basis for the development of voluntary health insurance. Prospects for further research lie in the study of factors influencing the development of micro insurance in the country.
