The article is devoted to consideration of the most effective methods of diagnosing genius from the author's perspective. The types of giftedness according to William Stern and the main signs for identifying such children are studied, as well as the most effective methods of teaching, upbringing and socialization of gifted children are defined.

Children's Giftedness and Characteristics of a Gifted Child

The article is devoted to the issue of building a work system with gifted children. Theoretical prerequisites for developing the problem of giftedness are considered, as well as theoretical aspects of the concepts of "ability" and "giftedness" are presented. The main characteristics of children with signs of giftedness according to A.I. Savenkov are given, and the relationship between the level of cognitive abilities development and success of studying at school is analyzed.

Psychological and Pedagogical Conditions of Personnel Training for Work With Gifted Children

The experience of organizing work with gifted children in our country at the federal and regional levels – from targeted programs, educational centers to online portals of continuing education and charitable foundations of the All-Russian level is presented in the article. The goals, objectives and basic principles of the Sirius Educational Center are disclosed. The results of a survey of teachers and curators of Sirius about the features of working with gifted children are presented. A model of the organization of training personnel for work with gifted children is presented as a master's program in psychological and pedagogical direction, implemented at the Southern Federal University.

Psychological and pedagogical conditions for the support of gifted children on the experience of a private lyceum named after G.V. and N.G. Riumin of Ryazan

The experience of psychological and pedagogical support of gifted children, which consists mainly in the creation of certain conditions in a private educational institution is presented in the article. On the basis of a private lyceum named after G.V. and N.G. Riumin of Ryazan, created by the founder N.V. Riumin – candidate of psychological sciences and by its director L.I. Arkharova – candidate of pedagogical sciences, head of the Pedagogy and Teacher Education Department at FSBEI of HE " Ryazan State University named for S. Yesenin", the experience of cooperation of higher education and general education institutions in the formation and upbringing of gifted children has been studied. L.I. Arkharova’s psychological and pedagogical competencies and long experience enabled to create the conditions for attracting the best teachers of Ryazan. Being rather a small city, when the teachers of the FSBEI of HE " Ryazan State University named for S. Yesenin" know the best of the best by sight, teach the potential teachers a worthy education and “see” the situation from the inside, close cooperation and interaction can be observed. Entering the lyceum, children individually reveal their potential being surrounded by care, warmth, love and attention to the personality of everyone.

The experience of organizing project activities aimed at supporting and developing the intellectual and creative potential of over-fives, as well as family values, interests and involving parents in joint activities with children is presented in the article. This work is designed for educators and teachers working with preschoolers.

Psychological and Pedagogical Support as a Condition for the Successful Development of Gifted Primary School Pupils

A scientific analysis on the problem of gifted children is presented, and both positive and negative age-psychological features of gifted primary school children are thoroughly characterized. Psychological and pedagogical support aimed at identifying and taking into account characteristics for a specific age, peculiarities of child’s intellectual and personal development is considered an effective method of pedagogical activity in the work with gifted children. A meaningful characteristic of psychological and pedagogical work with children in each problematic sphere is given. Among them: motivational, social, emotional, will and cognitive spheres.

The Specifics of Work With Gifted Children in Special Piano Lessons at Children’s Art School

The concept of “musical talent” is considered, as well as the main musical and performance abilities and skills of students-pianists. The features of teachers’ modern teaching approach in piano lessons with gifted children are characterized. The distinctive features of the manifestation of the basic musical talent of gifted children in the piano lessons are analyzed. The importance of enlightening the teacher to the individual characteristics of a gifted child is emphasized.

Study of Creativity as One of the Signs of Giftedness in Younger Schoolchildren From Russia and Tajikistan

An important indicator of giftedness is creativity. The authors have developed a comprehensive diagnostic system for the early detection of children with signs of giftedness. The following indicators of creativity were studied: fluency, flexibility, originality, degree of development. The model of psychological and pedagogical conditions for the successful education of gifted children was also substantiated. According to this model the actualization of giftedness is possible only with close interaction between the school and the family, as well as the activity of the most gifted child in this direction.

The article is devoted to the review of the types of psychological and pedagogical support of a gifted child, the features of training mentors for work with gifted children, and project technology for work with motivated pupils. The program of the optional course for teachers-psychologists "Development of giftedness in primary school age" is presented. The course program is an integration of theoretical developments and modern practices on work with gifted pupils.
