Abstract. AbstractThis paper describes a validity and reliability analysis of an instrument designed to measure disposition of study in secondary school students. A probabilistic sample of 306 students was selected from a secondary public school in southern Mexico. The construct validity analysis showed the presence of four factors explaining 58.3% of total variance. This study was conducted to determine the construct validity and reliability of the Caregiving Difficulty Scale, a tool developed to measure difficulties experienced by parents of children with cerebral palsy. To this end, a survey was conducted with 215 mothers of children with cerebral palsy, and the resultant data were analyzed. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed to verify the construct validity of this scale, and the intra-item fit value was calculated for reliability analysis. Validity analysis confirmed that a bi-factor model comprising four sub-factors, Concern for the Child, Impact on Self, Support for Caregiving, and Social and Economic Strain, was suitable for the Caregiving Difficulty Scale. In addition, the reliability analysis results showed that the reliability coefficients of three of these areas, excluding Social and Economic Strain, and the reliability of the entire scale were acceptable. Therefore, the Caregiving Difficulty Scale is an appropriate tool to measure the burden of caregiving for children with cerebral palsy, and the findings emphasize the need to improve its reliability by comparing sub-factors’ reliability.

Having adequate knowledge, attitude, practice, and realistic perception (KAP2) of food poisoning prevention will minimize the risk of food poisoning while dining out. However, there is no validated KAP2 questionnaire on the prevention of food poisoning during dining out, notably among consumers. Throughout the current research, a validated KAP2 questionnaire on food poisoning and prevention during dining was developed. A crosssectional pilot survey was conducted among 30 selected consumers in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu. Convenience sampling was applied to the recruitment of consumers based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The KAP2 questionnaire comprised the knowledge section (42 questions), attitude (15 questions), practice (13 questions) and the perception (15 questions). Knowledge questions were analysed using difficulty and discrimination index, while attitude, practice, and perception were analysed by construct validity and reliability analysis. The difficulty index with less than 0.3 is considered as difficult, between 0.30-0.70 as an acceptable value, and more than 0.70 as easy. The discrimination index below than 0.2 is considered poor, between 0.2-0.24 as good, more than 0.35 as excellent items. The construct validity was conducted by referring to the value of Cronbach's alpha, inter-item correlation (˃ 0.30), item-total correlation (˃ 0.30), and Cronbach's alpha if item deleted. The results were found from 42 knowledge items, 29 easy items, ten acceptable items and three difficult questions. The discrimination index revealed that 25 items were poor, 11 items were excellent, three items had a good discrimination index and three items needed to be revised. Based on construct validity, five attitude’s items, three practice’s items and ten perception’s items were removed due to inter-item correlation and item-total correlation value < 0.30. The reliability analysis of the attitude portion was 0.848 which is a good reliability, 0.780 practice, and 0.611 perceptions to be found an acceptable value of reliability. Overall, the developed KAP2 questionnaire is a valid and reliable questionnaire that can serve as an evaluation tool for measuring knowledge, attitudes, practice and perception in the prevention of food poisoning during dining out among consumers.

Violence in schools is increasingly reported by the mass media. It indicates that its prevalence is escalating. An instrument which has a proper psychometric property is needed to investigate the phenomenon. The study aims to develop an instrument for measuring physical abuse experienced by students in schools and explore the construct of the instrument. To pursue those objectives, the content validitity, construct validity, and reliability analysis on the developed instrument were measured. Its content validity was confirmed through expert judgment, construct validity was proven through exploratory factor analysis, and reliability was estimated through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Experts considered that the content of all items were relevant, though they also suggested some improvement in wordings for greater clarity. The exploratory factor analysis on 31 items indicates that seven items need to be dropped and 24 items are divided into three factors called (1) victimized by friends with the loading factor ranging from 0.44 to 0.69, (2) victimizing friends with the loading factor ranging from 0.45 to 0.66, and (3) being victimized by teachers with the loading factor ranging from 0.57 to 0.68. The reliability of the test was 0.874. Based on this result, the developed instruments consist of three factors with good validity and reliability.

This study aimed to develop an instrument for measuring the attitudes that reflect the characteristics of the pandemic (Adult Pandemic Attitude Scale (A-PAS)) and verifying its validity and reliability. This study used a methodological research design and was conducted with a development step and an evaluation step. The development step included development of preliminary items, content validity, face validity, and preliminary investigation. The evaluation step included item analysis, construct validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, criterion validity, factor naming, reliability, and completion of the final instrument. The A-PAS developed in this study consisted of a total of 20 items in five dimensions. The internal consistency of 20 items of the A-PAS, Cronbach’s α was 0.92 for 20 items, Cronbach’s α for each factor, a subscale of instrument, was 0.61~0.87 and Raykov’s p coefficient of each factor, which is a subscale of the tool, was found to be 0.60 to 0.88. Analysis of construct validity showed the results as follows: χ2 (p) = 134.05 (p < 0.001), RMSEA = 0.02, RMR = 0.02, GFI = 0.94, CFI = 0.99. The study findings suggest that the developed instrument can be utilized to measure the attitudes of adults toward pandemics, and reflect the reality of the pandemic situation. The outcomes can be used as valuable data for intervention, prevention activities, and policy preparation. The instrument will be applied in the event of a pandemic, such as COVID-19, and will be helpful in promoting the health of the people.
