Objective: to develop, test, and introduce new methods of helping people suffering from alcohol dependence. Material and methods. We have performed a comparative study of a representative sample of patients with alcohol dependence (F 10.202) in compensated (I group, n = 88) and subcompensated (II group, n = 44) remission. Results. It has been found that the highly significant comprehensive examination using clinical, psychological, and laboratory methods (sensitivity - 81.4 %, specificity - 80.0 %) makes it possible to diagnose the threat of relapse in patients with alcohol dependence. Conclusion. The proposed integrated approach to the determination of the quality of remission is a new, effective, simple, and easily accessible way of providing targeted assistance to persons with alcohol dependence.

<p>With the current explosion of Information Systems, the market offers a wide range of interesting technological solutions. Yet, this does not mean adopting a technology without considering its impact on the existing information system and user expectations. It is recommended to identify and implement the technological solutions most suited to the Information Systems strategy. Therefore, new methods are emerging and design tools are still evolving; the PHP Frameworks are part of it, which open up new perspectives in terms of information system enrichment. In this context, this paper focuses on the elaboration of a comparative study between Laravel, symfony framworks, which are the most popular PHP frameworks.  Thus, it provides an effective comparison model that merges seven dimensions: Features, Multilingual, System requirements, Technical architecture, Code Organization, Continuous Integration (CI) and finally Documentation and learning curve dimension. Results show that our model can be beneficial for IT project developers to select the suitable PHP Framework.</p><p> </p>

This chapter summarizes new approaches to the study of traditional dialects, in particular in Britain and the United States, and discusses how new methods, new results, and new topics of investigation may inform and enrich the study of World Englishes, too. Of particular importance may be the acknowledgement of widespread variability in the ‘homeland’ that is increasingly also historically attested and sociolinguistically described, the study of morphosyntactic variation as an area of language that seems to remain quite stable under settlement conditions, and the comparative study of present-day variability that indicates the breadth (and limits) of variability. In return, results from the comparative study of World Englishes also have the potential to enrich modern dialectology and sociolinguistics.

The debate on the reliability of the story teller or narrator in fiction writing is so intense to the degree of controversy. Ever since the early stages of fiction writing, most of the novelists seek new methods and techniques in writing their stories. Some of them have achieved success and became known worldwide, and their works have become masterpieces and essential landmarks in the world of fiction. These works have been among the curricular subjects taught in the most esteemed universities in the world. These eminent works have mostly been tackled thematically by reason of the novelty and importance of their themes, yet there are only a handful critiques on their technical aspects, style, diction being used, or narrative methods. This is a comparative study of some of such works like F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby in comparison with some other works such as Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and Emily Bronte’s Withering Heights.

Traditional odontometry currently suggests a limited number of measurements on tooth coronal parts, including estimation of mesio-distal and vestibular-oral diameters, or dimension, through usually a single measurement of the maximal parameter. Taking into consideration the complexity, irregularity and variability of tooth shapes we find such measurements insufficient for interpreting tooth morphology. Thus we propose odontotomic approach of obtaining data from a series of parallel equally spaced sections in combination with automated detection of landmarks used for measurements. These sections allow locating maximal dimensions of teeth as well as collecting data from all parts of the tooth to describe it morphologically. Referring odontometric data to the whole tooth we obtain more precise and objective records which have proved to be informative in a series of dental and anthropological studies.<br> Growing interest and implementing of digital technology in odontometric studies calls for studies ensuring transition to new methods. The current research is aimed to undertake a comparative study of the traditional and automated digital odontometry. The influence of various approaches to odontotomy (number and direction of sections) on odontometric data is subjected to studies as well. The above-mentioned tooth shape analysis is applied to samples from the archaeological site of Nerqin Naver to contribute to complicated odontological studies from the Early Bronze burials.

ABSTRACT In this work a comparative study was carried out, in which different methods were used in the literature that seek to evaluate the number of stations and the quality of the information generated by the hydrometric network of a watershed, using Information Theory concepts. The underlying idea is the so-called optimal network whose function, according to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is to optimally and inexpensively meet the primary goal of hydrometry, which is to provide the necessary information with a minimum number of stations correctly positioned in the basin. Methodologies based on Information Theory ascend to fill the gap on a standard method for the design of hydrometric networks. The evaluated methods were applied to the subbasin of the Rio das Velhas belonging to the São Francisco River basin in Brazil. The results showed that the methods analyzed, which use the concept of entropy, are adequate and efficient for evaluation of existing fluviometric networks, since they allow the reduction of eventual redundancies and at the same time, seek to maximize the information generated. It was possible to compare them and indicate the most appropriate method for the application within the national context, as well as indicate new methods for use thereof.
