Collection of high-throughput data has become prevalent in biology. Large datasets allow the use of statistical constructs such as binning and linear regression to quantify relationships between variables and hypothesize underlying biological mechanisms based on it. We discuss several such examples in relation to single-cell data and cellular growth. In particular, we show instances where what appears to be ordinary use of these statistical methods leads to incorrect conclusions such as growth being non-exponential as opposed to exponential and vice versa. We propose that the data analysis and its interpretation should be done in the context of a generative model, if possible. In this way, the statistical methods can be validated either analytically or against synthetic data generated via the use of the model, leading to a consistent method for inferring biological mechanisms from data. On applying the validated methods of data analysis to infer cellular growth on our experimental data, we find the growth of length in E. coli to be non-exponential. Our analysis shows that in the later stages of the cell cycle the growth rate is faster than exponential.

The so-called "big enlargement" of the European Union in 2004 triggered many changes in the functioning of individual agricultural markets. They concerned agricultural producers, processors and distributors from new but also old members of the EU. The aim of the study is to analyze changes in volume and structure in pig production in EU with particular focus on changes in the position of countries which joined the EU after 2004. The analysis covered the years 2005-2016. Statistical materials from Eurostat database were used. The basic statistical methods of data analysis were used in the study. In the analyzed years, with the general trend of pork production growth in the EU, there have been significant changes in its size in individual countries. There has been a significant increase in production in so-called old EU countries. The main beneficiaries of the in the pork market in the EU area were livestock producers and processors from Germany and Spain. In the countries which joined the EU after 2004, there has generally been a downward trend in volume of production, with the largest declines in most countries observed in 2009.

<p class="Abstrak">Research on human resource development have been carried out. With the aim of can be used as parameters to create the development of quality human resources. This research aims to know the influence of opportunities on the assessment of the performance of employees. Opportunities under study is divided into three indicators, namely the environment, the rules and colleagues. Sampling technique in this study using a sampling of saturated. The technique of data analysis was conducted gradually, starting from the editing, coding, scoring and tabulation. In addition, using a likert scale developed by Ransis Likert. While for the development of research using statistical methods, it is necessary to qualify the classical assumption test before the test is conducted multiple linear regression. It aims to determine how much significance of significance testing. The results from the hypothesis t, there is on the value tcount for the partial (sequential) starting from X1 = 2,639, X2 = 3,379 and X3 = 2,210. In addition, the results of the hypothesis F, contained in the value of Fcount simultaneously (together) was 12,597. While the value of R Square (R2) of 0,282, if then the result of 28.2%. It can be concluded from the three independent variables affect the dependent variable by 28,2%.</p>

The work has been designed to investigate the utilization of milk for consumption of fluid milk and milk products, their distribution pattern, pricing, shelf life and consumer’s preference of Mymensingh municipality in Bangladesh. The study was based on milk and milk products and data were collected from the selected sweetmeat shops by direct interview, of which 20 samples were collected from sweetmeat shops and 7 from goalas. Both tabular and statistical methods were used for collected data analysis. Shopkeepers of different sweetmeat shops received raw milk from farmers (52.6%) and goalas (47.4%) and the highest amount of whole milk was required in per unit production of rasomalai (21%) and ghee (18%) whereas the lowest amount in chomchom (9%). Milk products prices were not remained same throughout the year in this municipality due to fluctuation of raw milk availability and their price. Eid, Puja festivals and other educational activities results that may increase milk products selling especially rasogolla and kalojam. Research findings also showed non-significant difference in case of pricing, distribution pattern, shelf life and selling of milk and milk products following sweetmeats.Asian J. Med. Biol. Res. Multivariate statistical methods are widely used in several disciplines of fundamental sciences. In the present study, the data analysis of the chemical analysis of the sands of Moonlight Beach in the Kemer region was examined using multivariate statistical methods. This study consists of three parts. The multivariate statistical analysis tests were described in the first part, then the pollution indexes were studied in the second part. Finally, the distribution maps of the chemical analyses and pollution indexes were generated using the obtained data. The heavy metals were mostly observed in location K1, while they were sorted as follows based on their concentrations: Mg > Fe > Al > Ti > Sr > Mn > Cr > Ni > Zn > Zr > Cu > Rb. Also, strong positive correlations were found between Si, Fe, Al, K, Ti, P. According to the results of factor analysis, it was found that four factors explained 83.5% of the total variance. On the other hand, the coefficient of determination (R2) was calculated as 63.6% in the regression model. Each unit increase in the value of Ti leads to an increase of 0.022 units in the value of Si. Potential Ecological Risk Index analysis results (RI < 150) revealed that the study area had no risk. However, the locations around Moonlight Beach are under risk in terms of Enrichment Factor and Contamination Factor values. The index values of heavy metals in the anomaly maps and their densities were found to be successful; and higher densities were observed based on heavy metal anomalies.
