The malting industry requires malt with a high extract yield, high levels of enzyme activity, and good modification to manufacture beer of excellent quality. The basic raw material for the beer production is the malting barley whose quality is of primary significance. Therefore, barley must be able to germinate vigorously and be post-harvest mature to meet these requirements. We find out to what extent barley physiological parameters influence the changes of malt technological parameters during post-harvest storage. The malt technological parameters investigated were the extract, relative extract at 45°C, Kolbach index, apparent final attenuation, friability, and wort β-glucan in relation to the germination energy and germination index. On the basis of the results obtained, it was found out that the germination index is the most suitable physiological parameter in view of the correlations with malt technological parameters, mainly the extract (r = 0.57) and relative extract at 45°C (r = 0.77). The germination index could be therefore used in the malting industry as a suitable indicator of the malting potential.

Indonesia is an agricultural country that has many agricultural products so that post-harvest handling is necessary so that the crop is not quickly broken when stored or distributed. One harvests in Indonesia, which require post-harvest handling such as corn. Based on SNI, the maximum moisture content of corn feed raw material has a moisture content of 14%. The water content of the corn used is 20% with a tolerance of ± 0.5%. Variations air speed used is 5 m /s, 6 m /s and 7 m /s with a variation of the mass of material that is 0.5 kg, 1 kg, and 1.5 kg. With the variation of air velocity and mass of the material showed that the higher the speed of the air, the faster drying time. In addition, the heavier material is drained, it will take longer. Variations of air velocity and mass of materials that require the fastest drying time is the air speed of 7 m /s with a mass of 0.5 kg. Variations of air velocity and mass of material that takes the longest drying air is at a speed of 5 m / s with a mass of 1.5 kg of material.

One of the important stages of growing seeds of agricultural crops is its post-harvest processing, which includes the drying process, is the main and one of the most effective methods for storing and processing agricultural raw materials. The use of vibration drying equipment is especially effective in high-tech processes taking place in the seed industry, where product moisture is the most important condition for the implementation of technology. The object of research in this article was the technological process of post-harvest processing of high-moisture pumpkin seeds, in particular drying. The purpose of the work was to analyze the current state of post-harvest processing of high-moisture pumpkin seeds and to establish promising methods and means for intensifying this process with a simultaneous increase in the quality of the final raw material obtained. The task of the work was: to review research and publications on the state of post-harvest processing of pumpkin seeds in Ukraine, to establish the features of its post-harvest dues, in particular drying, to get acquainted with the technical means and technologies for performing the technological process of drying pumpkin seeds, to establish the main disadvantages of the existing drying equipment, to determine and to propose new promising technologies and technical solutions for intensifying the drying process of pumpkin seeds with a simultaneous increase in the quality of the final raw material with minimal energy consumption and translate them into a developed model of a vibration dryer, which sequentially implements filtration and convection stages of drying. The research methodology was based on a review analysis of existing studies and publications on the state of post-harvest treatment of pumpkin seeds in Ukraine and the search for ways to intensify this process with a simultaneous increase in the quality of the final raw material obtained. In scientific work, based on the results of the study, it was found that the existing grain drying equipment does not meet the requirements for drying high-moisture pumpkin seeds, therefore there is a need for the development, research and implementation of energy-efficient schemes and structures. The existing samples of domestic equipment for post-harvest processing of high-moisture pumpkin seeds are morally and physically obsolete, do not provide flexibility in the execution of the technological process, are energy- and metal-intensive and cannot be used in processing lots of seed material. The proposed design of a vibrating dryer, which sequentially implements filtration and convection stages of drying pumpkin seeds. The developed installation provides an intensification of this process with minimal energy consumption while increasing the quality of the final raw material obtained.

The Swiss forest- and timber industry has detailed five key development areas for the coming years. These are to increase raw material production from the current annual level of 4.5 million cubic metres of timber to 6 million; to increase net product throughout the whole timber chain; to open up new markets for timber and timber products; to increase entrepreneurial competitiveness; and to make communication channels more professional, by ensuring that the end consumer market is given consistent information. The clear outlines of the Confederation's follow-on programme for timber promotion coincide to a large extent with these goals. This marks a good starting point for real co-operation between the Confederation and the Swiss timber industry.

This study aimed to separate the wood production in regions and provinces of Turkey into homogeneous groups based on similarities by using the country’s wood production figures for 2013 and 2018. Within this context, the hierarchical Ward’s and non-hierarchical K-means clustering methods were used comparatively. Clustering analyses of 2 to 6 in number were performed via both methods, and the same regions mostly fell into the same cluster groups, although in different cluster combinations. The results showed that some provinces with rich forest areas did not produce enough wood. It was observed that these provinces were in the same clusters with provinces having a low amount of forest areas and low wood production. Over the five-year period, very few provinces and regions differed in line with the previous development plans. The creation of a spatial database for wood raw material production using the findings obtained in this study will contribute to the development of operational inventory methods that can be included in long- and medium-term forestry plans.
