Aviation crashes all over the world have recently been on the high rise, stemming from negligence, mechanical faults, weather, ground control errors, pilot errors, taxing and maintenance crew errors as are probable reasons for such accidents. This case study models the probabilistic risk assessment of runway incursion data endeavored to determine the correlation in between the reported incursions that occurred at Nagpur airport between fiscal years 2005 and 2015 and the meteorological conditions, times of day, and presence of an air traffic control tower of Nagpur Airport. With runway incursions long-plaguing the safety of aviators, their passengers, and aviation refining the body of knowledge underpinning incursions coupled with ongoing prevention efforts aspire to diminish the annual incidence of incursions, increase safety, and save lives. In accordance with this mission, mining the Civil Organization (ICAO), and Federal Aviation Association (FAA) runway incursion databases and analyzing the resulting hours, and at airport with an air traffic control tower.

ETABS stands for Extended Three-Dimensional Analysis of Building Systems. ETABS is commonly used to analyze: Skyscrapers, concrete structures, low and high rise buildings, and portal frame structures. The case study in this paper mainly emphasizes on structural behavior of multi-storey building for different plan configurations like rectangular, C, L and I-shape. Modelling of 15-storeys R.C.C. framed building is done on the ETABS software for analysis ETABS issue, for analysis and design for building systems. ETABS features are contain powerful graphical interface coupled with unmatched modeling, analytical, and design procedures, all integrated using a common database. STAAD and ETABS both of the software are well equipped and very much capable of handling different shape of the structures, static and dynamic loadings and different material properties.

Accurate dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings serve as a guide in their construction and operation. Ground-based real aperture radar (GB-RAR) techniques have been applied in monitoring and analyzing the dynamic characteristics of different buildings, but only few studies have utilized them to derive the dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings, especially those higher than 400 m and under construction. In this study, we proposed a set of technical methods for monitoring and analyzing the dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings based on GB-RAR and wavelet analysis. A case study was conducted on the monitoring and analysis of the dynamic characteristics of the Wuhan Greenland Center (WGC) under construction (5–7 July 2017) with a 636 m design height. Displacement time series was accurately derived through GB-RAR and wavelet analysis, and the accuracy reached the submillimeter level. The maximum horizontal displacement amplitudes at the top of the building in the north–south and east–west directions were 18.84 and 15.94 mm, respectively. The roof displacement trajectory of the WGC was clearly identified. A certain negative correlation between the temperature and displacement changes at the roof of the building was identified. Study results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective for the dynamic monitoring and analysis of super high-rise buildings with noninvasive and nondestructive characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to extract the indices of Aesthetic preferences for visual quality of urban landscape in high-rise buildings which contribute designers to make better decisions for designing urban landscape. As the research focuses on the high-rise buildings, this study goal address the question as follows: ‘What are aesthetic preferences in high-rise buildings? How can these preferences be developed and categorized?’ To achieve this objective, the Derak district of Shiraz city was selected as a case study area using Photo grid method and then all high-rise buildings in this area were identified and analyzed. Aesthetic preferences data were evaluated by Q-SORT method with the psychophysical approach. Eventually, aesthetic factors have been presented in two main categories: 'primary and distinctive'. Findings lead to the development of APPD model which suggests that when the landscape design of a building moves toward distinctive factors, the degree of its aesthetic preferences increases.

Abstract- Many of high-rise office buildings in Indonesia applies efficiency and effectivity of building form,cost, and time for construction as a number one priority. As a result, high-rise office buildings appears with aminimum-articulated form, and show the dominance by using glass materials as a facade. However, there arealso high-rise office buildings that have an articulated form and its facades that are not dominated by glass,although they appear in small numbers. Wisma Dharmala Sakti Jakarta and Wisma Dharmala Sakti Surabayaare one of them. Moreover, both buildings were designed by foreign architect, Paul Rudolph. Based on thepotentials of both buildings, this research focused on Paul Rudolph’s principles in designing high-rise officebuildings in Wisma Dharmala Sakti Jakarta and Wisma Dharmala Sakti SurabayaLooking at the phenomena of high-rise office buildings in Indonesia as described earlier, this smallnumber and the articulated form of high-rise office buildings designed by Paul Rudolph in Indonesia areinteresting to be understood even more. The main purpose of this research is to reveal the relationship betweenPaul Rudolph’s design principles with buildings, which are Wisma Dharmala Sakti Jakarta and WismaDharmala Sakti Surabaya.Using an interpretative method in a qualitative research, this research utilized theories that helpsunderstanding of an office building, theories that related to Paul Rudolph’s background and common thoughtabout architecture, and also Paul Rudolph’s theory about determinants of architectural form as a literaturestudy. Building’s Anatomy Theory is used as a surgical tool to disect the study cases, which happens to beWisma Dharmala Sakti Jakarta and Wisma Dharmala Sakti Surabaya.Result of this research are six points of Paul Rudolph’s principles in designing high-rise office buildingwhich are: repetition, space, scale, rotation, light, and context. Implementation of Paul Rudolph’s designprinciples in both study cases can be seen in the dominance of rotation and repetition of building elements. Theapplication of these two principles can fulfill all the three aspects of Paul Rudolph’s design ideal, which areform, context, and cycle.Benefit of this research is to enrich architectural vocabulary about design principles of a high-riseoffice buildings in Indonesia for the concerned educational institution, as a consideration and input toarchitects and the stakeholders to be more sensitive and critical in designing high-rise buildings in Indonesia,as a reference and study case about design principles of a high-rise office buildings for students, academics,architects, and the public with the focus of study concerned, and enrich the knowledge about Paul Rudolph’sdesign principles especially in designing high-rise office buildings in Indonesia for researcher.Keywords: Paul Rudolph, Design Principles, Office, Wisma Dharmala Sakti Jakarta, Wisma Dharmala SaktiSurabaya.

How far do current assessment methods allow the thorough evaluation of sustainable urban regeneration? Would it be useful, to approach the evaluation of the environmental and social impacts of housing regeneration schemes, by making both hidden pitfalls and potentials explicit, and budgeting costs and benefits in the stakeholders’ perspective? The paper aims at answering these questions, by focusing on a case study located in the Manchester area, the City West Housing Trust, a nonprofit housing association. Drawing from extensive fieldwork and including several interviews with key experts from this housing association, the paper first attempts to monetize the environmental and social value of two extant projects – a high-rise housing estate and an environmentally-led program. It then discusses whether and how a stakeholder-oriented approach would allow more engagement of both current and potential funders in the projects at hand. Findings from both the literature and the empirical data that was gathered show how in current housing regeneration processes, room for significant improvements in terms of assessment methods still exist. Findings additionally show that the environmental and social spillovers are largely disregarded because of a gap in the evaluation tools. This may also hinder the potential contributions of further funders in the achievements of higher impacts in terms of sustainability.

Abstract Currently, Bekasi City is developing into a residence for an urban, industrial center, and built apartments. One of them is the Urban Sky-Bekasi Apartment. This researched raises by an apartment as a case study to evaluate the performance of multi-story building structures as earthquake-resistant buildings. This researched conduct by add the original building height to 8 m (a basic height equals 102 m and a new height equals 110 m) to analyze whether the planning data made could still bear the same load with different heights and could still be categorized as earthquake-resistant buildings. From the results of the SAP-2000 output. The value of the basic static and dynamic shear forces in a 110 m building is always greater than a 102 m building in both the X and Y directions, this indicates that the taller a building is, the higher the design earthquake force used will be. The displacement in a 110 m building is always bigger than a 102 m building in both the X and Y directions. The weakest strength of the structure in a 110 m building is on the 29th floor in the X directions and Y directions, while the 102 m building is on the 26th floor in the X directions and 24 directions. It shows that with the addition of high SAP-2000 output data such as displacement, drift ratio, and other data after analysis shows that a 110 m building is categorized as an earthquake-resistant building according to SNI 1726-2012.

<p>High-rise buildings are progressively being designed and constructed in increasingly slender and complex shapes. Consequently, excessive wind-induced vibrations of these structures are a growing serviceability concern due to their flexibility. Tuned mass dampers (TMDs) are regularly incorporated into high-rise buildings for mitigating excessive wind-induced vibrations. However, traditional TMDs are only effective over a narrow domain of frequencies, require an immense mass and occupy a significant volume of interior space. A novel modular air-tuned damper system was developed which is more cost-effective and flexible in distributing its mass throughout a building to make efficient use of unused space. Importantly, the air-tuned damper system is capable of being tuned across a broad domain of frequencies to more effectively alleviate wind-induced vibrations. This paper presents a case study demonstrating the performance of a high-rise building under 1- year and 10-year wind events whilst equipped with the air-tuned damper system. Dynamic analyses were performed for evaluating the reductions of the building’s lateral accelerations considering different air-tuned damper configurations. The performance of the building under the different damper configurations is discussed.</p>
