The analysis of traffic problems in large urban centers often requires the use of computational tools, which give the possibility to make a more detailed analysis of the issue, suggest solutions, predict behaviors and, above all, support efficient decision-making. Transport microsimulation software programs are a handy set of tools for this type of analysis. This research paper shows a case study where functions and limitations of Aimsun version 8.2.0, a commercial-like European software and Sumo version 1.3.1, a European open-source software, are presented. The input and output data are similar in both software and the interpretation of results is quite intuitive for both, as well. However, Aimsun's graphical interface interprets results more user-friendly, because Sumo is an open-access software presented as an effective alternative tool for transport modeling.

Abstract The Vertex Locator (VELO) is a silicon tracking detector in the spectrometer of the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) experiment. LHCb explores and investigates CP violation phenomena in b- and c- hadron decays and is one of the experiments operating on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. After run 1 and run 2 of LHC data taking (2011–2018), the LHCb detectors are being modernized within the LHCb upgrade I program. The upgrade aims to adjust the spectrometer to readout at full LHC 40 MHz frequency, which requires radical changes to the technologies currently used in LHCb. The hardware trigger is removed, and some of the detectors replaced. The VELO changes its tracking technology and silicon strips are replaced by 55 μm pitch silicon pixels. The readout chip for the VELO upgrade is the VeloPix ASIC. The number of readout channels increases to over 40 million, and the hottest ASIC is expected to produce the output data rate of 15 Gbit/s. New conditions challenge the software and the hardware side of the readout system and put special attention on the detector monitoring. This paper presents the upgraded VELO design and outlines the software aspects of the detector calibration in the upgrade I. An overview of the challenges foreseen for the upgrade II is given.

Abstract As of today, the problem of the lack of non-destructive methods for assessing the state and determining the residual life of the insulation of electrical cables is relevant for cable lines in operation, and especially for lines that have exhausted their service life. The research presented in the framework of this article is aimed at creating a non-destructive technique for assessing the state and residual life of electrical cables insulation. The study was carried out using computer simulation methods and using the basic theoretical laws of physics and electrical engineering. A method for assessing the condition and residual life of electrical cable insulation has been developed, which is based on the analysis of the discharge time of the cable capacity. The applicability of the method is determined, instructions are given on its applicability and the analysis of the output data. The obtained results can be used by power grid companies and industrial enterprises to analyze the state of the insulation of electrical cables.

Transformers play an important role in generating electrical energy so that in maintaining their performance this transformer has a lot of protection so that the transformer can work as much as possible. Many things can interfere with transformers, namely when the transformer is overheated, a short circuit occurs, or is struck by lightning causing the transformer to burn, so a system that can provide fast, and extensive information is needed and is handled automatically by monitoring the temperature of the main transformer using a smartphone connected to the internet network. In this study, 2 DS18B20 sensors were used which were equipped with a Manual Call Point (MCP) as input and an ESP32 microcontroller module in which there was a Wi-Fi module as a data processor, then the output data would be sent via the internet to the Internet Of Things (IoT) platform for display. In the form of values, graphs, and notifications. The measurement results are in the form of temperature units in C which will be displayed via a smartphone using the Blynk IoT platform in the form of numbers and graphs in real-time according to the value detected by the sensor. Tests on sensors resulted in an average error of 3.29% on the Low side and 3.01% on the Upside.

In this work the relationship between the Selic rate and some bank parameters defined by the so-called Basel Accords is studied. The cross-correlation between the Selic rate and the parameters is used to explain how these parameters affect the Selic rate and vice-versa so as to define the predictability of the Selic rate using (some of) these parameters as inputs. A model is then proposed for predicting the Selic rate based on some specific parameters using fuzzy logic ideas, which dealt with a partitioning of the universe of discourse using clusters related to the output data distribution. The proposed model is compared to four other known models in the literature and showed to have better performance in average compared to all other models.

The article describes the methodology to game problems of Olympiads in informatics using recursive numbers generation. The study is based on the sequential solution of increasingly complex tasks. For each task, the following materials are given: the condition of the task, the idea of the solution with a proposal to come up with an independent implementation, the solution in the Pascal programming language. Distance learning system DL.GSU.BY is the effective technical base for teaching. It allows offer the student a condition of the task; send the solution for review; get a verdict from the system  — a correct or incorrect solution; for incorrect solutions, the number of the test on which the solution did not pass is indicated. A student can take a test (input and output data), on which his solution did not pass, figure out what the error is in his program, correct and send the solution again. In addition, for each problem there is a link on it to the topic in the forum at site, where you can ask a question on solving this problem and  / or read the answer if the questions have already been asked before.

All the problems can be solved with the help of machines mainly computers using algorithm and by interpreting their output data is considered as artificial intelligence (AI). Artificial intelligence is faster than manual work, reduces manpower, more efficient and accurate and used in various field these days and coming up with more advanced technology. With the help of artificial intelligence, drugs can be formulated and produced in an advanced way. New machineries’ used in chemical or pharmaceutical labs are much advanced these days, that reduces the time of the analysis. There is a strong bond between artificial intelligence and chemistry. In the field of chemistry designing new molecules, molecular property detection of molecules and compounds, drug discovery, synthesis and retrosynthesis of molecules, analysis prediction for better and accurate results, all these can be done with the help of artificial intelligence.

This article explores the multiplier effects on domestic product, employment, and the external sector of the US economy due to the decline of tourism activities during the pandemic. For this purpose, we use an input-output model and the latest available input-output data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD’s) database. It was found that for every USD million decrease in tourism receipts, the net output decreases about USD 1.53 million, the level of employment decreases about 16.86 persons, imports decrease about USD 0.20 million, while the comparative analysis of these results with the economy’s average multipliers indicates that tourism constitutes a key sector of the US economy. From the evaluation of the results, it is deduced that the decline of tourism activities recorded in the year 2020 accounts for about one-fourth of the observed recession in the US economy.
