Augmented reality is increasingly used in education and its further spread is predicted as one of the technological trends. The benefits of using augmented reality are contributing to the increasing use of augmented reality in education. The purpose of the research is to study the use of augmented reality technology in teaching. The article provides the overview of the development of augmented reality and presents the results of a survey of teachers who attended the advanced training course. According to the results of the survey, the readiness of teachers to use this technology and the feasibility of its use in various methods and forms of training organization were determined. A special feature of the use of augmented reality in education is its accessibility and ease of use of ready-made mobile applications and services.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted education and has instantaneously shifted education from being conducted predominately ‘face to face’ to being totally ‘online’. For most teachers, this unexpected teaching approach has impelled them into finding ways to provide the same quality of education to their students. One way of doing this is by adopting educational technologies in learning and teaching, including the use of augmented reality (AR) technology. AR technology has been integrated into the field of physics education. In this study, the effects of AR technology on understanding of the concepts of electricity in an online learning environment for 11th-grade students was investigated. Pretest and posttest were carried out in the control group and the experimental group. The results showed that AR technology improved understanding of electrical concepts for the students in the experimental group compared to the control group, with a very significant difference between both groups. This research contributes to the development of AR technology in education, especially in relation to the teaching and learning of abstract physics concepts.

Today, technology is a major issue in society, so it is essential to have acquired digital competence in order to be successful in it. An example of the growing use of technology in education is the didactic use of Augmented Reality, which offers the area of science a wealth of possibilities to facilitate the teaching-learning process. The aim of this study is to understand the impact of digital competence on the use of augmented reality as a teaching resource in science-related classes. The method used is quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, correlational and predictive. The data collection has been carried out through an ad hoc questionnaire on digital teaching competence and augmented reality with different levels of response. The results show that augmented reality is a resource that has been used by teachers teaching science, presenting them with an average level of digital competence. We conclude by stating that teachers who use augmented reality are more digitally competent than those who do not..

Today, primary school teachers face challenges when dealing with digital natives. As a result of the explosion and rapid growth in information technologies that can be used in education, there are increasing demands to adopt technology in education, in order to influence students to learn actively and motivate them to gain an effective learning process. Augmented reality applications show good potential in giving students more active, effective and meaningful learning processes. Moreover, augmented reality attracts research attention for its ability to allow students to be immersed in realistic experiences. Therefore, this study reviews the main benefits of using augmented reality applications in education. It also aims to examine user acceptance of augmented reality applications within an e-learning environment in primary schools, from the teachers’ perspective, as an initial experiment. Moreover, it explores the main barriers and benefits when adopting this technology.

Technological progress greatly affects all areas of human life, including in the field of Education. One use of technology in education that can be used is augmented reality that displays a virtual world into a real form that can be more easily understood and fun. Augment reality is used in learning history that is displayed in real way so it can facilitate students in learning. This technology is used to solve problems in learning that students feel bored with learning history that only uses lecture and discussion methods so that students are not eager in learning. In the face of this technological progress is utilized as an innovative form based on disrupsi era so that students can learn history more easily and can appreciate the services of heroes and not forget the history of the nation along with the times. The study was conducted at SDN Kanggraksan class VB with learning outcomes experienced improvement in each cycle.
