This report offers online course designers, particularly those keen on using Moodle CMSs, a means of diversifying accessibility to their educational materials via multiple modes of delivery that do not require the creation of numerous files and formats for just one activity. The author has made contributions to the development of an open source module for Moodle known as QuizPort and has collaborated with the creator of QuizPort to explore methods for using the module such that content added to it can be more smoothly delivered via smart phone, tablet, or handheld game console. Key points to consider when designing online content for a variety of devices are addressed.

As the main advantage of μPADs is compact and low-cost, we suggest that three kinds of technology could be utilized to develop the prototype of μPADs-based instruments rapidly, including open source hardware-Aduino, smart phone and 3D printing.

In each and every mobile phone the SIM card plays a major role in communicating the information. In a crime if a mobile phone is been taken as the evidence, the first and the foremost thing is to investigate the SIM card. Though the evolution of smart phone is very rapid without the SIM card the smart phone is uncertain in communication. The SIM card stores some valuable information like call logs, messages, contacts etc…. . For extracting those information we need a tool. In this experiment we are using a tool known as SIMXtractor from CDAC. It is not a open source tool. By using this tool we are able extract those information from the SIM card.

The Mobile Access to Supplementary Learning Objects (MASLO) is an open source software kit developed by the Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory (AADLC) at the University of Wisconsin-Extension. The MASLO kit is designed to provide the components for content authoring and delivery on Apple iOS® and Google Android® smart phones. This project built on work from an earlier AADLC effort to develop a high school test preparation mobile application called Revu4u (Review for You). In that project, AADLC team members successfully created a technical framework for delivering smart phone enabled instructional content. While the technical components functioned as intended, virtually no time was spent in Revu4u on creating usable interfaces. Additionally, the Revu4u project was limited in scope to only deliver multiple-choice questions and feedback. The MASLO project focused on usability rather than technological capability and was designed as a more comprehensive instructional content authoring environment. In this article, the authors will describe MASLO as a design case. The purpose is to clearly describe the kit itself, critical design decisions, and the context and situations relevant to understanding the decisions made. Relevant Revu4u processes and outcomes are briefly described as a precedent for MASLO. MASLO is a living, open source project, and this case describes the development of the kit up to August 2012.

Technology is so advanced that it could replace one of our senses. If it could replace one of our senses surely it could act as a sense for physically challenged people. Taking this into consideration, this proposed paper explored the possible ways to bring technology into the life of such people. And it happened to stumble upon deaf-blindness. The proposed system enables deaf-blind people to communicate via Braille vibrations through smart phone application. It can be achieved by developing an operating system that tends to fulfill the needs of physically challenged which can be developed by using the open source package android. The outcome of the proposed work would be able to allow the physically challenged people to use the smart phones in a way that a normal person would use it today.

“Air Pollution is the major problem that we are facing now-a-days. Controlling air pollution in an area is becoming difficult and many people are facing a lot of health issues due to this increased pollution rates in the country. The increased amount of carbon monoxide (CO), smoke, carbon dioxide (CO2) have lead a severe impact on the human life. The growing number of vehicles and industries contributes to air pollution to a greater extent. This paper presents a model which helps in monitoring the air pollution through the use of internet of things (IoT) platform. Implementing it with sensors and arduino which will help the user to know about the temperature and the humidity level on the smart phone and accordingly the user can take preventive measures. Also the system detects air quality and if the amount of pollutants increased.”
