Jouska is an independent financial advisory company that provides offline and online consulting services that recently went viral in social media and had a strong brand image as a financial consultant related to today's needs. In July 2020, social media was outraged by the complaint, which claimed to have been harmed by them, because Jouska allegedly directed their clients to determine an Investor Fund Account Management Contract (RDI) with PT Mahesa Strategies Indonesia, whose shares are affiliated with Jouska. However, during the development, the client experienced a significant loss in the shares. This situation turned out to be similar complaints from other clients until Jouska underwent a crisis that led to the government's blocking, and the case ended in the realm of law. This study aims to analyze the communication that presents Image Restoration Theory through a lens. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, and it was found that Jouska did not yet have a clear SOP for communication with clients and had not implemented crisis management appropriately. There are several recommendations that Jouska can achieve to restore public trust, including collaborative action with various parties, building a communication strategy, and optimal media relations.

PurposeAmong the current discourses around social media risk management (SMRM) is whether institutions perceive social media (SM) as more of an opportunity to be embraced and regulated, or a risk to be avoided or mitigated, how this is reflected in their policies and how institutional stance reflects their regulation and management of SM use and practices. There is currently no scholarly literature that addresses these for the memory sector where SM use has proliferated. This research aims to address this gap by putting a focus on national memory institutions (MIs), whose strategies and operations are often governed by a public/civic mandate.Design/methodology/approachThis research involves a comprehensive literature review and a content analysis. The review includes studies that have analysed institutional SM policies in other sectors. The review informs our content analysis both in terms of approaches and in terms of identifying areas for comparisons. Following an initial scoping review and a close inspection, a sample of eight policies of national MIs were included in the content analysis.FindingsThe content analysis led to the identification of 8 core themes and 36 sub-themes. The main themes are concerned with account management, audience management, rules for use, protecting institutional interests, legal considerations, the purpose of the policy, nature of postings and referencing information. Also emerged from the findings are a few gaps that we expect will provide a platform for further discourses with regard to the potentially complex role SM policies have in MIs and the broader cultural heritage sector in relation to their public/civic mandates.Originality/valueThis is the first close SM policy analysis for the memory sector focusing on national MIs. This research contributes insights into how national-level MIs tend to frame the opportunities and the risk of SM use, the ways in which they govern SM usage and their different approaches to SMRM. The findings have implications for SM policy development and implementations, and further iterations of SM policies in the memory sector.Peer reviewThe peer review history for this article is available at: https://publons.com/publon/10.1108/OIR-09-2020-0421

KONOPA or Komunitas Noken Papua is an official trade brand registered by the Papua Legal Department and Human Rights Department since 2011 located in Jayapura, Papua. KONOPA's main product is Noken, a multifunctional knotted or woven bag of Papuan. Unlike other online-based Noken sellers, KONOPA has its own production space in making Noken. However, I found that there was a lack of audience interaction in KONOPA’s social media activity as well as the problem. After conducting an interview, the customers mostly were not interested in discovering the information KONOPA provided. Therefore, it is necessary to update the ways in promoting in order to increase consumer engagement. Thus, I designed some Instagram content and display pictures. These works would be beneficial for the organization to draw back the customers’ attention and buy the products. Based on the final result as well as the solved problem, the average number of the audience interaction has increased. Keywords: Brand awareness, Social Media Management, Instagram, Consumer Engagement

The crucial role of maintaining business accounts on social media for the rational organization of goods promotion in the COVID-19 pandemic context and increasing online business awareness is reasonably justified. Based on empirical research and analysis of Ukrainian retailers’ online stores, business account metrics are diagnostics in social media. The interpretation of the viral loop in social media is proposed, and the meaning of the definitions “subcritical mass” and “critical mass” of a Facebook / Instagram business account are clarified. The dynamic model of a critical mass of Facebook / Instagram business accounts is developed. The model allows monitoring the nature and influence of active followers on users to adjust the current vector of activity, minimize marketing costs, and increase the target audience involvement. The model also facilitates accurate targeting and error-free ad placement for online businesses.
