Methylene blue (MB) was used as model molecule to investigate the effects of surface properties and solvent pH values on the adsorption and desorption (or release) behaviors of mesoporous SBA-15 materials. It was found that the treatment of SBA-15 with a pH 7.8 aqueous solution can enhance the adsorption rate and capacity in comparison with the pristine SBA-15. The effect of pH values on MB releasing from the weak base treated SBA-15 and the pristine one have been studied and been compared in pH values range from 0.5 to 7.0. Both of them showed a maximum releasing rate at about pH 2 and all of the treated SBA-15 samples showed a higher releasing quantity than the pristine ones. The influence mechanisms of base treatment on the adsorption ability and that of pH values on the releasing properties of SBA-15 samples have been analyzed and been discussed based on the composition, the morphology, the surface area and pore size distribution and adsorption/desorption measurements.

According to the type of Guizhou marine sedimentary phosphorus ore, the main reason of refractory is the similar surface properties of collophane and dolomite.In addition,the interaction of dissolved components of mineral and external ion leads the new eguilibrium system in aqueous solution,which further affects the selective adsorption of the agent in mineral surface.Selecting collophanite-dolomite system as the research object, this article studies the effect of the interaction of some inorganic anions on the floatability difference of the two minerals in the flotation system. The effect of the interaction on the electric properties of the mineral surface and adsorption characteristics were also examined with the purpose to find out the interaction mechanism.It hopes to provide theoretical basis for practical mineral selection. The research findings shows that in the range of pH 3 to 5, the interaction of PO43- and SO42- has a better effect of the separation between collophanite and dolomite.The interactions of SiO32- and CO32- makes the floatability difference of collophanite and dolomite closer when the pH is greater than 9.25, and simultaneously shows some negative effects on the flotation separation of the two minerals.

AbstractThe world is faced with several problems as regards water pollution. This is due to several factors, including the discharge of effluents into the environment with no prior treatment. This wastewater, therefore, contains significant levels of pollutants, including numerous toxic organic contaminants and others that are similarly undesirable. Several studies have attempted to find ways of removing wastewater contaminants using pillared interlayered clays (PILC) as adsorbents. In this work, we present a summary of those studies that have used PILC as adsorbents for the removal of organic compounds from aqueous solutions while simultaneously illustrating their potential for this purpose. A general overview is provided so that the reader can acquire a basic understanding of the PILC and their modified counterparts that have been used, and some of the characteristics that can directly affect their adsorption behavior, especially their textural and surface properties.
