Abstract We examine the Kerr/CFT correspondence in Einstein gravity extended with quadratic curvature invariants. We consider two explicit examples in four and five dimensions and compute the central charges of the asymptotic symmetry algebras of the near horizon geometries, using the improved version of the BBC formalism that encompasses the information of the Lagrangian. We find that the resulting Cardy entropy differs from the Wald entropy, caused by the Riemann-squared RμνρσRμνρσ term.

Abstract Asymptotic symmetry plays an important role in determining physical observables of a theory. Recently, in the context of four dimensional asymptotically flat pure gravity and $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 supergravity, it has been proposed that OPEs of appropriate celestial amplitudes can be used to find their asymptotic symmetries. In this paper we find the asymptotic symmetry algebras of four dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills and Einstein-Maxwell theories using this alternative approach, namely using the OPEs of their respective celestial amplitudes. The algebra obtained here are in agreement with the known results in the literature.

Employing linear order perturbation theory with the rotation parameter as the perturbative parameter, we obtain asymptotically AdS slowly rotating black hole solutions in the Einstein gravity with Born–Infeld (BI) type nonlinear electrodynamics (NED). We start from asymptotically AdS static black hole solutions coupled to BI type NED in five dimensions. Then, we consider the effect of adding a small amount of angular momenta to the seed solutions. Finally, we investigate the geometry and thermodynamic properties of the solutions.

We analyze the perturbative implications of the most general high derivative approach to quantum gravity based on a diffeomorphism-invariant local action. In particular, we consider the superrenormalizable case with a large number of metric derivatives in the action. The structure of ultraviolet divergences is analyzed in some detail. We show that they are independent of the gauge-fixing condition and the choice of field reparametrization. The cosmological counterterm is shown to vanish under certain parameter conditions. We elaborate on the unitarity problem of high derivative approaches and the distribution of masses of unphysical ghosts. We also discuss the properties of the low energy regime and explore the possibility of having a multiscale gravity with different scaling regimes compatible with Einstein gravity at low energies. Finally, we show that the ultraviolet scaling of matter theories is not affected by the quantum corrections of high derivative gravity. As a consequence, asymptotic freedom is stable under those quantum gravity corrections.

Abstract Asymptotic symmetries in Carrollian gravitational theories in 3+1 space and time dimensions obtained from “magnetic” and “electric” ultrarelativistic contractions of General Relativity are analyzed. In both cases, parity conditions are needed to guarantee a finite symplectic term, in analogy with Einstein gravity. For the magnetic contraction, when Regge-Teitelboim parity conditions are imposed, the asymptotic symmetries are described by the Carroll group. With Henneaux-Troessaert parity conditions, the asymptotic symmetry algebra corresponds to a BMS-like extension of the Carroll algebra. For the electric contraction, because the lapse function does not appear in the boundary term needed to ensure a well-defined action principle, the asymptotic symmetry algebra is truncated, for Regge-Teitelboim parity conditions, to the semidirect sum of spatial rotations and spatial translations. Similarly, with Henneaux-Troessaert parity conditions, the asymptotic symmetries are given by the semidirect sum of spatial rotations and an infinite number of parity odd supertranslations. Thus, from the point of view of the asymptotic symmetries, the magnetic contraction can be seen as a smooth limit of General Relativity, in contrast to its electric counterpart.

This article describes how the Neuman Systems Model (NSM) can be used in a two-step process to provide both the form and the function for interdisciplinary client care. The NSM proposes five dimensions of human experience as being necessary for a complete understanding of a client system. This article takes these five content areas—psychological, physiological, spiritual, developmental, and sociocultural—and extrapolates them to their respective disciplines (e.g. nursing, social work, religion, psychology, etc.) to create a comprehensive interdisciplinary model for client care. The NSM also provides a common language and conceptual paradigm, congruent with allied disciplines. A demonstration project incorporating the NSM in the formation and functioning of an interdisciplinary team is described.

This study aims to determine the performance of Badan Narkotika Nasional or the National Narcotics Agency of Palu in the narcotics prevention efforts, determined by the support of the main tasks and functions of the National Narcotics Agency Office of Palu. The theory used to assess performance is with five dimensions of theory to measure the performance of public bureaucracy which are Productivity, Service Quality, Responsiveness, Responsibility, and Accountability as proposed by Agus Dwiyanto (2002). This research utilized descriptive-qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are but not limited to: Observation, Interview, and Documentation. Informants in this study are determined purposively. The results of the study revealed that based on the five dimensions of performance theory from Agus Dwiyanto, it can be concluded that the performance of the National Narcotics Agency of Palu is not insufficient. Thus, the vision proclaimed by the Palu City Government which was the Realization of Government and Community Synergy Towards Drug-Free Palu City in 2015, was not achieved

The use of ICT (information communication technology) as an educational resource is becoming more evident in the education systems of most countries, even more so with the COVID-19 crisis. When it comes to disability and education, ICT becomes a tool for social and educational inclusion. This study presents the validation and evaluation of a measurement scale on ICT literacy for inclusive education. In addition, based on previous literature, a conceptual model is proposed and validated through PLS (partial least squares) using a sample of 142 teachers from all educational stages. The results show that teachers’ ICT knowledge to ensure inclusion consists of five dimensions on specific needs. ICT knowledge has a positive impact on teacher motivation and ICT use. Teachers at primary and early childhood education levels have a lower motivation and use of ICT, although they have a higher knowledge of disability. The results found allow progress to be made in measuring the educational inclusion of schools and the ICT knowledge needed to ensure care and support for all people. A notable implication is the need for training on ICT and disability within educational policies.
