Abstract A characteristic value formulation of the Weyl double copy leads to an asymptotic formulation. We find that the Weyl double copy holds asymptotically in cases where the full solution is algebraically general, using rotating STU supergravity black holes as an example. The asymptotic formulation provides clues regarding the relation between asymptotic symmetries that follows from the double copy. Using the C-metric as an example, we show that a previous interpretation of this gravity solution as a superrotation has a single copy analogue relating the appropriate Liénard-Wiechert potential to a large gauge transformation.

Abstract We give a double copy construction for the symmetries of the self-dual sectors of Yang-Mills (YM) and gravity, in the light-cone formulation. We find an infinite set of double copy constructible symmetries. We focus on two families which correspond to the residual diffeomorphisms on the gravitational side. For the first one, we find novel non-perturbative double copy rules in the bulk. The second family has a more striking structure, as a non-perturbative gravitational symmetry is obtained from a perturbatively defined symmetry on the YM side.At null infinity, we find the YM origin of the subset of extended Bondi-Metzner-Sachs (BMS) symmetries that preserve the self-duality condition. In particular, holomorphic large gauge YM symmetries are double copied to holomorphic supertranslations. We also identify the single copy of superrotations with certain non-gauge YM transformations that to our knowledge have not been previously presented in the literature.

Abstract We construct the classical double copy formalism for M-theory. This extends the current state of the art by including the three form potential of eleven dimensional supergravity along with the metric. The key for this extension is to construct a Kerr-Schild type Ansatz for exceptional field theory. This Kerr-Schild Ansatz then allows us to find the solutions of charged objects such as the membrane from a set of single copy fields. The exceptional field theory formalism then automatically produces the IIB Kerr-Schild ansatz allowing the construction of the single copy for the fields of IIB supergravity (with manifest SL(2) symmetry).

We consider Kerr–Newman–AdS–dS black holes near extremality and work out the near-horizon geometry of these near-extremal black holes. We identify the exact U (1)L× U (1)R isometries of the near-horizon geometry and provide boundary conditions enhancing them to a pair of commuting Virasoro algebras. The conserved charges of the corresponding asymptotic symmetries are found to be well-defined and nonvanishing and to yield central charges cL≠0 and cR = 0. The Cardy formula subsequently reproduces the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy of the black hole. This suggests that the near-extremal Kerr–Newman–AdS–dS black hole is holographically dual to a non-chiral two-dimensional conformal field theory.

We study microscopic entropy of the near-extremal rotating black hole in four-dimensional (4D) 𝒩 = 2 supergravity with four charges set pairwise equal from AdS2/CFT1 correspondence. This correspondence is realized in terms of asymptotic symmetries of the AdS2 geometry and a two-dimensional near-horizon effective quantum theory of residual fields from a dimensional reduction proposed by Robinson and Wilczek. We compute the relevant central charge and derive the microscopic entropy of this near-extremal black hole by Cardy formula. Our results can be extended to more general near-extremal rotating black holes in 4D supergravity. They further support the notion that black hole entropy is generally controlled by near-horizon conformal symmetry.

ABSTRACT We previously reported that the secretory capacity of Pichia pastoris is limited with respect to the secretion of a 96.5-kDa bivalent anti-CD3 immunotoxin; double-copy expression generated more translation products than single-copy expression but did not increase the secretion of the immunotoxin. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae heterologous protein secretion has been reported to increase the expression of molecular chaperones, most prominently BiP/Kar2p. We therefore investigated the relationships between immunotoxin secretion and Kar2p expression in P. pastoris. We found that expression of the immunotoxin in P. pastoris increased the expression of Kar2p to levels that surpassed the retrieval capacity of the cell, leading to secretion of Kar2p into the medium. The level of Kar2p secretion was correlated with the copy number of the immunotoxin gene. Intracellular Kar2p was found to bind exclusively to the unprocessed immunotoxin containing the prosequence of α-factor in the endoplasmic reticulum. These results show that Kar2p is intimately involved in immunotoxin secretion in P. pastoris. The limited capacity of P. pastoris to retain a sufficiently high level of intracellular Kar2p may be a factor restricting the production of the immunotoxin.

AbstractWe show how to derive asymptotic charges for field theories on manifolds with “asymptotic” boundary, using the BV-BFV formalism. We also prove that the conservation of said charges follows naturally from the vanishing of the BFV boundary action, and show how this construction generalises Noether’s procedure. Using the BV-BFV viewpoint, we resolve the controversy present in the literature, regarding the status of large gauge transformation as symmetries of the asymptotic structure. We show that even though the symplectic structure at the asymptotic boundary is not preserved under these transformations, the failure is governed by the corner data, in agreement with the BV-BFV philosophy. We analyse in detail the case of electrodynamics and the interacting scalar field, for which we present a new type of duality to a sourced two-form model.
