Background: COVID-19 has been declared as a pandemic recently and has caused many deaths worldwide. Till date no effective drug or vaccine is available against SARS-CoV-2. There is an urgent need to find effective alternative preventive and treatment strategies to deal with SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. Objective: This communication proposes a new potential drug combination (repurposed) for prophylaxis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2. Methods and Materials: We performed a brief review of literature on combination of Hydroxychloroquine, Melatonin and Mercaptopurine for prophylaxis and treatment of Novel COVID-19 infection and also assessed their possible mechanism of action against SARS-CoV-2. Observation: Proposed combination seems to be safe and target is unlikely to develop resistance to this combination. Conclusion: This scientific review proposes potential repurposed drugs and their combination targeting SARS-CoV-2. Conclusion: This scientific review proposes potential candidate repurposed drugs and potential drug combinations targeting 2019-nCoV/SARS-CoV-2.

Diaphragmatic ureteral hernias are rare causes of ipsilateral renal obstruction. Management strategies varies from conservative to ureteral stenting to operative herniorraphy and reduction. We present a case of a 71-year-old man who was found to have an incidental right ureteral diaphragmatic herniation causing an asymptomatic kidney obstruction. He was managed conservatively with no evidence of increased hydronephrosis on serial imaging and no deterioration of biochemical renal function. We review all similar cases published in the literature and discuss the optimal treatment strategies.

Current literature occasionally considers septic arthritis in native joints and prosthetic joint infections as equal pathologies. However, significant differences can be identified. The aim of this review of literature is to describe these differences in definitions, pathology, diagnostic workups, treatment strategies, and prognosis.

Abstract Diabetic Neuropathy (DN) is a complication that affects at least half of the patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Unlike other symptoms and signs that may sooner alarm the patients, DN manifestations tend to be rather silent, and so usually neglected by the patient for a long period of time, which can last for years. Therefore it’s a “hidden complication of diabetes” label. Unfortunately, it is only when symptoms already affect the quality of life that the treatment becomes challenging when it comes to speaking of either etiological, symptomatic or rehabilitation strategies. Early diagnosis can also be tricky while aiming for lifestyle corrections and proper individualized treatment strategies. Rehabilitation methods for DN aim especially towards the improvement of articulation mobility and muscular strength amelioration, the suggested brief review of literature promoting this part of therapy essential for both prevention and amelioration of overall morbidity. Keywords: diabetic neuropathy, physical therapy, interdisciplinary approach, quality of life,

AbstractOs odontoideum is an independent ossicle of variable size and shape separated from the body of C2. There are various theories on the etiology. Different hypothesis on etiology include traumatic and congenital. Because of the laxity of the ligaments associated with the anomalous odontoid, there can be associated instability at the craniovertebral junction. The authors presented their experience of treating these anomalies, their clinical presentations, evolution of the treatment strategies over years, and a brief review of literature on etiopathogenesis.

Annular pancreas (AP) in adults is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the presence of ectopic pancreatic tissue surrounding the second part of the duodenum. This rare embryologic abnormality is usually detected after development of complications or as incidental finding in most cases. Diagnosis and treatment strategies for symptomatic adult AP remain controversial. No clearly defined specific guidelines and treatment protocols exist about management of adult AP, therefore, treatment and operative approaches must be individualized for each patient. It is always prudent to consider the possible post-operative complications, surgical treatment should be reserved only for cases where there is complete obstruction.

Developmental disturbances involving the oral cavity affect the growth and development of a child. Tooth agenesis may be associated with a number of documented syndromes or may present as an isolated entity. The presence or absence of teeth is decided by the influence of various genes and their signaling pathways. These syndromes appear due to chromosomal defects or due to mutations in the genes responsible for organogenesis. Identification of these mutations helps understand the underlying defect and plays an important role in their treatment strategies. This is a comprehensive review of literature on syndromic and nonsyndromic forms of dental agenesis and an attempt in enlisting various syndromes associated with dental agenesis.

Amyloidosis is a complex group of disorders that can involve many organs and cause their dysfunction. Cardiac involvement indicates worse prognosis and influences treatment strategies. Cardiac amyloidosis is an under-diagnosed entity and high index of clinical suspicion and careful interpretation of basic diagnostic tools such as electrocardiogram and echocardiography is needed for early detection. Congestive heart failure due to restrictive pattern and/or conduction system abnormality, in absence of coronary artery disease should raise suspicion. We present a case of transthyretin related cardiac amyloidosis and discuss the key clinical and diagnostic findings along with review of existing literature regarding its management and outcomes.
