This study was conducted to reveal the aspect of distance education studies on teaching of mathematics with the evaluation by class teachers during the Covid-19 Pandemic period. 24 primary school teachers from Onikisubat district of Kahramanmaras province have participated in the research. The semi-structured interview form developed in line with the expert opinions was applied to the primary school teachers separately. This study was required in order to evaluate the events experienced in the distance education process due to the coronavirus pandemic and the effects of the pandemic on the field of education in the direction of the opinions of the class teachers. Qualitative research was carried out to interpret any situation from a different perspective in the study, and a case study has been conducted to reach the depth of the situation. As a data collection tool, a semi-structured interview form was prepared with the approval of expert opinions. After the data were brought together, content analysis was carried out by giving similar descriptions and describing them in a way that the reader could comprehend. The sample of the study consisted of teachers who personally experienced the process in the nearby environment, which consists of easily accessible situation sampling in order to accelerate the study. It is thought that it will be important to work properly execution of the processes that may occur in such times by determining the causes and consequences of the situations experienced in the field of education due to reasons such as the suspension of face-to-face education and the cessation of schools after the pandemic in the world. As a result of the research, suggestions will be made for the studies that can be done about teaching mathematics in distance education.

Distance education has become an essential part of life on a global scale during the COVID-19 pandemic. This process has driven all education stakeholders, who focus on providing learning outcomes without any loss, to alternative teaching models. The aim of this study is to examine the extent of the effects of writing-to-learn activities integrated into the distance education process on learning. Conducted as an action research, this study consisted of 42 Year 4 undergraduate prospective teachers studying Social Studies Teaching. A variety of writing-to-learn activities and semi-structured interview forms were used as data collection tools. While writing-to-learn activities were evaluated with holistic rubric, the opinions of prospective teachers were analyzed by content analysis. As a result, it was concluded that writing-to-learn activities included in distance education made significant contributions to the development of students throughout the application process. The activities were found effective on learning since they involved students in the process and facilitated permanent learning. It is understood from the opinions of the prospective teachers that an enjoyable and quality learning can be achieved with such activities included in the study, even from a distance. Based on the results, it can be stated that the writing-to-learn model is an alternative learning approach that can be used in distance education.

As different means of information visualization become more popular and available both as commercial or open source products, there is an opportunity to use them in the education process by providing students with a larger variety of tools for mastering the required information and skills related to a learning object. The chapter discusses the use of various multimedia tools and edutainment (any entertaining application that has an educational role) in education and e-learning. The need and opportunities of applying 3D models, virtual and augmented reality, and certain means for controlling interactive learning environments are described in detail. Examples of 3D modeling, virtual, and augmented reality applications in history, arts, and medicine (surgery) education are provided.

Contemporary researches show that triggering interest can enhance students’ thinking skills, creativity, joy of learning and improved performance. The digital technologies can be beneficial for students’ learning engagement and motivation. The digital context helps students to keep positivity in education process that allows to activate attention, memory, and makes learning skills better. Augmented Reality is one of technologies that lets you interact with the real world and virtual objects at the same time. Augmented Reality application enables faster comprehension of complex spatial problems and relationships, which makes it useful during the learning process of engineering graphic courses. In this paper the application of AR technologies in RTU engineering courses is described. The results of this approach will be useful for vocational school teachers, college and university teachers in the successful integration of AR technologies in the teaching process.

This study was carried out in order to examine the opinions of physical education teachers about the remote (online) education of schools due to the Covid-19 epidemic in our country and in the world in recent years, and the remote teaching of physical education lessons in this process. Within the scope of this study, it was tried to determine the opinions of physical education teachers about the distance education process, the problems they encountered, the efficiency and adequacy of the lessons, the advantages and disadvantages of the process. The study was designed using a qualitative research method, and the study group was determined using the stratified sampling method. Study data were collected by the researcher by interview method. The analysis of the data was carried out using the content analysis method. According to the findings of the research, in the evaluations of the participants; It has been observed that the majority of them define distance education as virtual education, the majority of them express that it is important and necessary to teach physical education lessons in distance education, the biggest advantage in the process of teaching the lessons is the lack of time and space limit, and the disadvantage is that distance education cannot provide the same equality of opportunity for every student. At the end of the study, suggestions were given to make physical education lessons more efficient in the distance education process.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused restrictions and shutdowns affecting all industries worldwide. The scope of the steps taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic, universities in Turkey also began to provide distance education in March 2020. This process has provided an important experience in which the education system is questioned on the basis of educational infrastructure, lecturers and students. The experience of a nationwide transformation in such a short period of time in the education system is considered to be unique. In this study, it is aimed to create a decision support document by compiling this valuable experience and suggestions for further improvement of the higher education system. In this context, the opinions and recommendations of teaching staff regarding the distance education process were taken with the help of surveys which were responded by 744 lecturers from 84 universities of Turkey. As a result of the study, it was seen that factors such as the type of university, distance education experience, and age make a difference in the views of the lecturers towards distance education. In addition, the determinations and suggestions of the instructors that they stated by openended expressions were compiled under main headings. This process experienced offers an important opportunity to question the current educational structure and to improve it further. As also stated in the survey results, it is predicted that the weight of distance education in higher education will also increase at post-pandemic term. Therefore, it is thought that the necessary steps should be taken in the light of the experiences in order to make the next process more efficient
