This paper presents an analysis of organizational changes perceived by the employees in the organizations where Technology Enhanced Learning was facilitated by tools such as wiki, (we)blog, the Internet forum and the social network, practice often considered as Elearning 2.0. Our research focuses on the technologically advanced organizations, leaders in the CT and IS adoption. We specifically observe the perception of influence on the organizational structure, organizational culture and the knowledge management processes in the organization. Our findings are that the TEL tools are perceived to have a noteworthy impact on the organizational change in the three mentioned areas, and that the perception of change significantly differs in dependence on whether the employees are regular or are not regular users of organizational structure and knowledge management processes.

Dados los tiempos que corren en todos los ámbitos de nuestro contexto social, económico, cultural y por supuesto tecnológico, la universidad vive un momento en el que debe apostar por innovaciones en la dirección de adaptarse a los cambios y dar respuesta a las necesidades del entorno; siempre en aras de sobrevivir como institución y seguir siendo referente primario de nuestra sociedad. El problema es que debe cambiar, pero sin que antes se hayan clarificados conceptos básicos que le dan su razón de ser y la fundamentan.En este trabajo pretendemos abundar en los modelos más representativos de cambio institucional que se han adoptado en la implementación de TIC en la universidad, para posteriormente hacer una reflexión acerca de cómo esos modelos y la forma que han adoptado en la práctica han creado no pocas paradojas relacionadas con las necesidades de cambio, las formas que adopta dicho cambio y el futuro que puede tener.  AbstractFast expansion of ICT in every side of our society has increased the pressure in traditional higher education institutions to become modern organizations, and has modified the social perception about the need of using new possibilities and models of teaching and learning including ICT (Technology Enhanced Learning). Unfortunately, the general awareness is universities know very well they have to change but they don’t know in which direction they have to do it. Therefore, they have to clarify basic concepts about their reason for being and their basic principles.On this work we will present a first analysis of the most representative models to implement ICT in Universities that institutions around the world have used. From this models and analysing trends around them, we propose some reflexions about how practices have created many paradoxes around the change related to ICT and higher education: how this change could be, how this change already is, and how can we plan better the future of these changes.

This study investigated the effect of technostress on university students’ wellbeing and technology-enhanced learning (TEL) through the stressor-strain-outcome model. Interviews were first used to contextualize and inform the development of the survey instrument. Then, survey data from 796 participants were collected and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that technostress creators, including techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty, were significantly associated with students’ burnout in TEL, which in turn was negatively associated with their self-regulation, learning agency, and persistence in TEL. Group comparison analyses based on gender, academic disciplines, and willingness to join TEL show that the negative associations between burnout and self-regulation, learning agency, and persistence in TEL were significantly stronger for male students than female students. Similar findings were also found for students joining TEL willingly and unwillingly, with the latter being more strongly affected by burnout. In addition, the positive association between techno-complexity and burnout was greater for students from social sciences than those from engineering and natural sciences. The findings of this study can inform future implementation decisions of TEL in higher education and strategies to preserve university students’ wellbeing.

This article reports on a pilot undergraduate subject that incorporated a range of technology-enhanced learning approaches including online lectures, an online site for in and out of class communications, and strong encouragement for students to blog and use Twitter. This paper evaluates student engagement through the social networking sites (SNS), focusing on the online communication and content platform. We examine whether changing from an educationally oriented SNS platform to Facebook impacted on student engagement and feedback. To achieve this, both empirical data and qualitative student feedback were used.

Abstract. Factorial survey experiments are increasingly used in the social sciences to investigate behavioral intentions. The measurement of self-reported behavioral intentions with factorial survey experiments frequently assumes that the determinants of intended behavior affect actual behavior in a similar way. We critically investigate this fundamental assumption using the misdirected email technique. Student participants of a survey were randomly assigned to a field experiment or a survey experiment. The email informs the recipient about the reception of a scholarship with varying stakes (full-time vs. book) and recipient’s names (German vs. Arabic). In the survey experiment, respondents saw an image of the same email. This validation design ensured a high level of correspondence between units, settings, and treatments across both studies. Results reveal that while the frequencies of self-reported intentions and actual behavior deviate, treatments show similar relative effects. Hence, although further research on this topic is needed, this study suggests that determinants of behavior might be inferred from behavioral intentions measured with survey experiments.
