This study was conducted to estimate the effect of adding different levels of turmeric powder and curcumin on broiler performance, carcass traits, and immunity response and jejunum histology. A total of 750 Ross day old chicks obtained from a local hatchery and distributed into two rearing conditions (normal and heat stress condition) with five treatments 3 replicate for each one had (25 chicks). Dietary supplements of turmeric powder and curcumin significantly (P ≤ 0.05) improved performance under normal and heat stress conditions. Moreover, treatments significantly (P ≤ 0.05) increased the total titter antibody against Newcastle and infectious bursal disease compared to control. Concerning histology of jejunum treatments significantly (P≤0.01) improved jejunum histology. Regarding the effect of rearing condition heat stress conditions significantly (P ≤ 0.01) decreased performance compared to normal rearing condition. Small intestine percent from live body weight significantly (P ≤ 0.01) decreased compared to normal rearing conditions. Moreover, heat stress significantly (P≤0.01) affected the total antibody titer against Newcastle disease and infectious bursal disease. Jejunum histology significantly (P ≤ 0.01) affected by rearing conditions.

In this experiment, the effect of hydroalcoholic grape seed extract (GSE) and vitamin C feed supplementation on some blood parameters and heat shock protein 70 (<em>HSP70</em> gene) expression of broiler chickens suffering from chronic heat stress was investigated. Experimental diets included control diet (with no additive), 3 levels of GSE (150, 300, 450 mg/kg), and one level of vitamin C (300 mg/kg). Each diet was fed to 5 replicates of 12 male chicks each, from d 1 to 42. The birds suffered from chronic daily heat stress under 34±1°C temperature with 65 to 70% relative humidity for 5 h from 29 to 42 d of age. Results showed that 300 mg/kg GSE supplementation increased body weight of broilers both before and after heat stress condition (at 28 and 42 d, respectively). Also, birds fed 300 mg GSE/kg diet had higher European production efficiency factor during the whole period of the experiment. Supplementation of GSE decreased the concentration of serum glucose at 28 and 42 d; at 42 d (during heat stress condition) and at 450 mg/kg diet it decreased cholesterol, triglyceride, lowand very low density lipoprotein concentration of serum blood. Vitamin C supplementation decreased serum cholesterol concentration of broilers suffering from heat stress. <em>HSP70</em> gene expression in heart and liver of broilers reduced by GSE and vitamin C supplementation pre- and during chronic heat stress condition.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different levels microalgae Chlorell sp. on performance of laying hens under heat stress condition. A completely randomized design experiment, with 7 replicates and 6 treatments (9 birds per replicate) was carried out by allotting 378 white Lohman strain laying hens at 65 weeks of age. Six experimental treatments were continual addition of 0, 100, 200, 300,400 ppm microalgae Chlorell and 400 ppm toein to drinking warer were fed to laying hens for 9 weeks. Egg production, egg weight, egg mass output and feed intake were determined. Antibody production against sheep red blood cells (SRBC) also was measured. Data  were  analyzed  by  ANOVA  using  General  Linear Models procedure of  SAS software and comparison of means  were  compared  using  Duncan’s  multiple  range test. The results of this experiment showed that microalgae Chlorell had no effect on productive performance. Adding microalgae Chlorell to the drinking water improved immune response of laying hens and a more positive effect was observed when 400 ppm added to the water. Abstract The current study was carried out on a poultry farm which belongs to the Animal production department - College of Agriculture - University of Kufa, for a period of 35 days started from October 10 to November 13, 2020 for 5 weeks to find out the effect of adding different levels of turmeric root powder and carnation flowers to the diet on some productive traits of broilers. in the experiment, 360 broiler chicks were used, one-day-old Ross-308 hybrid, The chicks were divided randomly into 6 treatments (60 chicks/treatment) by 3 replicates per treatment, with 20 chicks for each with an average initial weight of 40gm and the treatments were as follows: 0, 3, and 5 gm/kg diet of turmeric root powder for treatments T0, T1, T2, as well as 3 and 5 gm/kg diet fodder of carnation flower powder for treatments T3 and T4, respectively.
