OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to verify the influence of net-cage fish farming on zooplankton biomass in the Itá reservoir (Uruguay River, Brazil). METHODS: Samples were collected monthly from October/2009 to May/2010 at the surface and at the bottom in two sampling stations, the net-cage area and in a control area using a Van Dorn bottle and a plankton net (68 µm). RESULTS: The Cladocera and Copepoda biomass was estimated by dry weight using a micro-analytical balance, and the Rotifera biomass by Biovolume. Total zooplankton biomass varied between 6.47 and 131.56 mgDW.m-3 Calanoida copepod presented the highest value of biomass (127.56 mgDW.m-3) and rotifers, despite having an important contribution to total density, showed a maximum biomass of 2.01 mgDW.m-3. Zooplankton biomass at the net-cage area surface was higher when compared with the control area during the months of October to January. However, the zooplankton biomass was similar at the bottom of the two areas throughout the studied period. From February until May, zooplankton biomass decreased in both sampling stations, a fact probably associated with the flushing of the reservoir, followed by an increase in water transparency and a decrease in chlorophyll-a concentration in the following months (February to May). CONCLUSIONS: The influence of fish farming on zooplankton biomass was detected at the surface of the net-cage area only from October to January. From February to May this influence was not found, probably by the influence of the flushing of the reservoir.

Purpose: This study aims to determine the contract system used and the profit-sharing system of floating net cages in Merangin Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency. Method: field research using a descriptive qualitative analysis approach. Data collected through interviews and direct observation. Finding: the results of the study revealed that in the practice of floating net cage fish cages between cage owners and employees namely Syirkah Mudharabah, in terms of the legal aspects of the Mudharabah Syirkah, the Rukun Syirkah Mudharabah, Terms, Principles, Contracts and Profit Sharing (profits and losses) that contained in the study of Muamalah Jurisprudence. Implication: socialization about business cooperation needs to be carried out in the perspective of the Shari'ah by relevant parties, to increase the understanding of the local community about the concept of business cooperation following Islamic Shari'ah

This study aims to analyze the internal and external environment that affect the development of fish culture and assess the right strategy in the development of floating net cage fish farming in Sentani Lake Jayapura, carried out for three months from June to August 2019. The method is carried out by survey techniques through In-depth observations and interviews with stakeholders consisting, beneficiary communities and relevant government, were analyzed by scoring and SWOT at nine different observation station points representing the East, Central and West areas of Lake Sentani. The results showed that the environmental parameters of the waters in the East and Central Sentani lakes, namely the districts of Puay and Asei small, were still suitable for the development of floating net Karamba cultivation, differing in the West region around Simporo, some parameters of the aquaculture environment showed that they were less feasible. Internal and external factors by increasing the understanding of aquaculture groups on the importance of the use of lake resources influence the development of floating net cage cultivation in Lake Sentani. Strengthening synergy between farmers and collaboratives with various parties is the right strategy to encourage farmers to increase income and welfare

Abstract. This paper develops and investigates the applicability of a scenario analysis approach to quantify and map the effects of physical and biogeochemical variability, cross-correlation and uncertainty on expected hydrological mass loading from diffuse sources. The approach enables identification of conservative assumptions, uncertainty ranges, as well as pollutant/nutrient release locations and situations for which further investigations are most needed in order to reduce the most important uncertainty effects. The present scenario results provide different statistical and geographic distributions of advective travel times for diffuse hydrological mass transport, and show that neglect or underestimation of the physical advection variability implies substantial risk to underestimate pollutant and nutrient loads to downstream surface and coastal waters. This is particularly true for relatively high catchment-characteristic product between average attenuation rate and average advective travel time, for which mass delivery would be near zero under assumed transport homogeneity but can be orders of magnitude higher for variable transport conditions. A scenario of high advection variability, combined with a relevant average biogeochemical mass attenuation rate, emerges consistently from the example catchment results as a generally reasonable, conservative assumption for estimating maximum diffuse mass loading when the prevailing physical and biogeochemical variability and cross-correlation are uncertain. The geographic mapping of advective travel times for this high-variability scenario identifies also directly the potential hotspot areas with large mass loading to downstream surface and coastal waters, as well as their opposite, the potential lowest-impact areas within the catchment.

The flood that hit Sungai Alang Village resulted in many floating net cages being lost in the flood, so many farmers lost their cages and caused losses for fish farmers. The aims of the study were to analyze: 1. The economic impact of floating net cage fish cultivators' losses. 2. The impact of social losses experienced by fish farmers. This study uses a survey method, the analysis used is business analysis and descriptive. The results of the analysis of the impact of flooding on fish cultivation in floating net cages in Sungai Alang village: 1. The economic impacts that occur are the loss of cages, loss of fish and damage to nets which result in farmers' losses. 2. The social impacts that occur are affecting the education of family members who continue to university cooperation from the community in dealing with flood disasters, changes in business due to flooding from fish farming in cages to fishing, gardening, cutting sap, raising chickens and selling vegetable.
