AbstractNowadays, the Fourth Industrial Revolution has brought artificial intelligence to the forefront, and more and more intelligent robots begin to be used in the hospitality industry. In this study, the application of service humanoid robots in the hospitality industry is investigated based on Cardiff Metropolitan University EUREKA Robotics Lab’s robot as reported by Lab (in Eureka robotics lab, 2017, https://www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/technologies/Pages/EUREKA-Robotics-Lab.aspx). The research ontology of this study is post-positivism. The research philosophy of this research is phenomenology. Phenomenological studies have indicated that this phenomenon can only be truly understood and experienced through subjective immersive research directly involving researchers, and the interaction among researchers is an integral part of the research. In this study, the data are collated through case researches and experimental interviews. Finally, Some proposals for transforming the traditional hospitality industry into the direction of intelligence is summarized. In future research, a technical model combining artificial intelligence will be further developed.

This paper emphasizes the possibility of merging artificial intelligence and Blockchain technologies to solve academic qualifications forgery issues in the educational sectors. Empirical data is collected through interviews with specialists and technical people who are interested in the emerging technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and focus group discussions in the field, as well as from reports in the reviewed literary articles. Scientific journals have also been accessed to analyse the paper goals and objectives. The findings suggest that emerging technologies can be integrated to become more efficient and effective in detecting fraud and forgery before it occurs. Considerable attention should be given to reducing and combating these issues because they have significant negative impacts on the economy and education. Accordingly, the study makes recommendations based on the results and areas of future research, considering the establishment of a unified and integrated system. Initially it will be applied as a pilot in Sultanate of Oman, then gradually it will be extended to the Gulf Cooperation Council States (GCC) and internationally particularly the affiliated and the recognized educational institutions to avoid the phenomena that affects the reputation and quality of education institutions and academic qualifications. The conclusion considers the impacts of the proposed system in the education and economy as well in general.

Purpose The economy of today has moved toward the fourth industrial revolution (FIR), which is characterized by the adoption of technologies such as cyber-physical systems, internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence and robotics. Globally, there is a lot of awareness created on the influence of the FIR on all industries, including hospitality and tourism. A plethora of studies on FIR have been conducted in the setting of manufacturing industries. Nonetheless, there seems to be in-exhaustive and non-consensual agreement among researchers as to the development and prospects of the FIR for service industries. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to comprehensively review the prospects of the FIR for the hospitality and tourism industry. Design/methodology/approach As a result of the novelty and gaps associated with the FIR in the hospitality literature, the authors explored the concept of FIR using a comprehensive literature review approach. Specifically, this paper reviews existing literature from diverse academic backgrounds, and annotates issues with regard to the evolution and prospects of the FIR for the hospitality industry. Findings Emphatically, the development and principles of FIR were expatiated. Additionally, an exegesis was carried out on the prospects (positives and challenges) of FIR for the hospitality industry. Finally, practical and social implications were also discussed. Originality/value It still remains a discourse among scholars and industry stakeholders as to the prospects of the FIR. This paper clarifies the confusion among researchers and bridges the literature gaps. Moreover, this review serves as a theoretical foundation for future research on the impact of FIR on the hospitality industry.

The exponential advancement in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, and automation are rapidly transforming industries and societies across the world. The way we work, the way we live, and the way we interact with others are expected to be transformed at a speed and scale beyond anything we have observed in human history. This new industrial revolution is expected, on one hand, to enhance and improve our lives and societies. On the other hand, it has the potential to cause major upheavals in our way of life and our societal norms. The window of opportunity to understand the impact of these technologies and to preempt their negative effects is closing rapidly. Humanity needs to be proactive, rather than reactive, in managing this new industrial revolution. This article looks at the promises, challenges, and future research directions of these transformative technologies. Not only are the technological aspects investigated, but behavioral, societal, policy, and governance issues are reviewed as well. This research contributes to the ongoing discussions and debates about AI, automation, machine learning, and robotics. It is hoped that this article will heighten awareness of the importance of understanding these disruptive technologies as a basis for formulating policies and regulations that can maximize the benefits of these advancements for humanity and, at the same time, curtail potential dangers and negative impacts.

Recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics have further improved the ability of humanoid robots to engage with humans. The increase in their ability and value has led to several initiatives to proffer special rights to such intelligent robots as a means of protection. These efforts have, at the same time, raised questions about the possibility of robots being a part of human society, if not our equals. Confusion primarily revolves around the status of intelligent robots, whether they are property or have other special statuses that may resemble human rights.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is ushering in the new age of technologies that are super fast, more flexible, much potential, and initiating the world more digitally connected. No doubt the potential of IoT and AI to clean up the environment is cosmic. A computational concept like fuzzy logic, neural network, and machine learning will change the perspective of machine how they are used now. Our study reveals retrospect progression in the internet of things and artificial intelligence technologies to curb ecological pollution. New generation AI-enabled intelligent control systems are optimized with a complex algorithm to identify and eliminate pollutants for environmental clean-ups. With AI automation pollution management and mitigation, developments are examined. Adopting tech-savvy IoT and AI technology, dependency on machines can be seemly employed. For example; Transportation Management System using AI and IOT can be used to determine the best shipping routes by cutting fuel and gas consumption. To some extent ICT, wireless technology adds a contribution to reducing E-Waste. ICT together with IoT acts as a mediator while renting and sharing devices among people with different industries.  AI helps to solve complex data analysis that supports Quick Decision System and policymaking. With intelligent robots, we can monitor and control acidification on Soil and water. The concept of neural network and fuzzy logic are greatly used to develop intelligent machines that predict different gas rates and chemical processes. AI machines that continuously check the pH level of water, Analysis Air Quality Index can be built to monitor water resources and atmosphere. Some AI robots can identify pollutants and helps to separate them. Now we are successful in a bifurcation of paper with plastic, Iron with aluminum. Such a method contributes to the waste management system appropriately. Our study also inspects the challenges of implementing AI, How data mining and big data management feed system. Authentication/Authorization work with industry and governing authority. Inspection of a biased algorithm, poor network, and security. There is no new route to achieve our goal. Our goal is to achieve paramount measures with two concepts in mind, that are Humans assist machines and Machines assist humans to control and prevent pollution in these critical situations. Both humans and machines together find an instant solution with renting and sharing that helps to minimize ecosystem effluence

The technology devices introduced in recent years are not only vulnerable to Internet risks but are also unable to elevate the growth of B2C e-commerce. These concerns are particularly relevant today, as the world transitions into the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To date, existing research has largely focused on obstacles to customer loyalty. Studies have tested e-commerce models guided by the establishment of trusting, satisfied and loyal consumers in various international contexts. In South Africa, however, as an emerging market, there has been limited research on the success factors of online shopping.This study examines the influence of security and privacy on trust, seen as a moderator of customer satisfaction, which in turn, has an effect on loyalty towards websites. Based on an exhaustive review of literature, a conceptual model is proposed on the relationships between security and privacy on the one hand, and customer trust, satisfaction and loyalty on the other. A total of 250 structured, self-administered questionnaires was distributed to a purposively selected sample of respondents using face-to-face surveys in Johannesburg, South Africa. A multivariate data analysis technique was used to draw inferences from the data. With an 80.1% response rate, the findings showed that privacy and security do influence customer trust; security strongly influences customer trust and weakly influences satisfaction. In South Africa, customer loyalty towards websites is strongly determined by satisfaction and weakly determined by trust. Trust significantly moderates the effect of customer satisfaction on loyalty. The study implications and limitations are presented and future research directions are suggested.

The race to develop and implement autonomous systems and artificial intelligence has challenged the responsiveness of governments in many areas and none more so than in the domain of labour market policy. This article draws upon a large survey of Singaporean employees and managers (N = 332) conducted in 2019 to examine the extent and ways in which artificial intelligence and autonomous technologies have begun impacting workplaces in Singapore. Our conclusions reiterate the need for government intervention to facilitate broad-based participation in the productivity benefits of fourth industrial revolution technologies while also offering re-designed social safety nets and employment protections. The evaluation and interpretation of the behavior of construction materials under fire conditions have been complicated. Over the last few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a reliable method to tackle this engineering problem. This review summarizes existing studies that applied AI to predict the fire performance of different construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, timber, and composites). The prediction of the flame retardancy of some structural components such as beams, columns, slabs, and connections by utilizing AI-based models is also discussed. The end of this review offers insights on the advantages, existing challenges, and recommendations for the development of AI techniques used to evaluate the fire performance of construction materials and their flame retardancy. This review offers a comprehensive overview to researchers in the fields of fire engineering and material science, and it encourages them to explore and consider the use of AI in future research projects.
