Abstract A complex fuzzy set (CFS) is a remarkable generalization of the fuzzy set in which membership function is restricted to take the values from the unit circle in the complex plane. A CFS is an efficient model to deal with uncertainties of human judgement in more comprehensive and logical way due to the presence of phase term. In this research article, we introduce the concept of competition graphs under complex fuzzy environment. Further, we present complex fuzzy k-competition graphs and p-competition complex fuzzy graphs. Moreover, we consider m-step complex fuzzy competition graphs, complex fuzzy neighborhood graphs (CFNGs), complex fuzzy economic competition graphs (CFECGs) and m-step complex fuzzy economic competition graphs with interesting properties. In addition, we describe an application in ecosystem of our proposed model. We also provide comparison of proposed competition graphs with existing graphs.

A complex Pythagorean fuzzy set (CPFS) is an extension of a Pythagorean fuzzy set that is used to handle the vagueness with the degrees whose ranges are enlarged from real to complex subset with unit disc. In this research study, we propose the innovative concept of complex Pythagorean fuzzy graphs (CPFGs). Further, we present the concepts of regular and edge regular graphs in a complex Pythagorean fuzzy environment. Moreover, we develop a complex Pythagorean fuzzy graph based multi-attribute decision making an approach to handling the situations in which the graphic structure of attributes is obscure. A numerical example concerning information technology improvement project selection is utilized to illustrate the availability of the developed approach.

The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of m-polar spherical fuzzy set (mPSFS) as a hybrid model of spherical fuzzy set (SFS) and m-polar fuzzy set (mPFS). The proposed model named as mPSFS is an efficient model to address multi-polarity in a spherical fuzzy environment. That is, an mPSFS assigns [Formula: see text] number of ordered triple of three independent grades (membership degree, neutral-membership degree and non-membership degree) against each alternative in the universe of discourse. The existing models, namely, mPFS and SFS, are the special cases of suggested hybrid mPSFS. In order to ensure the novelty of this robust extension, various operations on the m-polar spherical fuzzy sets (mPSFSs) are introduced with some brief illustrations to understand these concepts. A robust multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method is established by using new score function and accuracy function for m-polar spherical fuzzy numbers (mPSFNS). Additionally, the extensions of technique of order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and gray relationship analysis (GRA) towards m-polar spherical fuzzy environment are proposed. Moreover, an application to nephrotic syndrome which may lead to kidney damage is analyzed by extensions TOPSIS and GRA. The proposed techniques and their algorithms provide a fruitful diagnosis procedure in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome. Lastly, we give a comparison analysis of the suggested models with some existing models as well.

The q-rung orthopair fuzzy set is a powerful tool for depicting fuzziness and uncertainty, as compared to the Pythagorean fuzzy model. The aim of this paper is to present q-rung orthopair fuzzy competition graphs (q-ROFCGs) and their generalizations, including q-rung orthopair fuzzy k-competition graphs, p-competition q-rung orthopair fuzzy graphs and m-step q-rung orthopair fuzzy competition graphs with several important properties. The study proposes the novel concepts of q-rung orthopair fuzzy cliques and triangulated q-rung orthopair fuzzy graphs with real-life characterizations. In particular, the present work evolves the notion of competition number and m-step competition number of q-rung picture fuzzy graphs with algorithms and explores their bounds in connection with the size of the smallest q-rung orthopair fuzzy edge clique cover. In addition, an application is illustrated in the soil ecosystem with an algorithm to highlight the contributions of this research article in practical applications.

Complex fuzzy set (CFS) is a recent development in the field of fuzzy set (FS) theory. The significance of CFS lies in the fact that CFS assigned membership grades from a unit circle in the complex plane, i.e., in the form of a complex number whose amplitude term belongs to a [ 0 , 1 ] interval. The interval-valued complex fuzzy set (IVCFS) is one of the extensions of the CFS in which the amplitude term is extended from the real numbers to the interval-valued numbers. The novelty of IVCFS lies in its larger range comparative to CFS. We often use fuzzy distance measures to solve some problems in our daily life. Hence, this paper develops some series of distance measures between IVCFSs by using Hamming and Euclidean metrics. The boundaries of these distance measures for IVCFSs are obtained. Finally, we study two geometric properties include rotational invariance and reflectional invariance of these distance measures.

A q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (q-ROFS) is more practical and powerful than intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) and Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS) to model uncertainty in various decision-making problems. In this research article, we introduce the notion of q-rung orthopair fuzzy Hamacher graphs (q-ROFHGs). We utilize the Hamacher operators because they are flexible and parameterized in decision making. We determine the energy of q-ROFHGs as well as the energy of splitting and shadow q-ROFHGs. In addition, we propose the Randić energy of q-ROFHG and its some substantial results. Further, we present the idea of q-rung orthopair fuzzy Hamacher digraphs (q-ROFHDGs). We solve a decision-making numerical example related to the selection of best housing society for investment by calculating the energy and Randić energy of q-ROFHDGs and an algorithm to exhibit the applicability of the presented concepts in decision making. Finally, we present the conclusion.

The purpose of this article is to develop some general aggregation operators (AOs) based on Einstein’s norm operations, to cumulate the Fermatean fuzzy data in decision-making environments. A Fermatean fuzzy set (FFS), possessing the more flexible structure than the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) and Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS), is a competent tool to handle vague information in the decision-making process by the means of membership degree (MD) and nonmembership degree (NMD). Our target is to empower the AOs using the theoretical basis of Einstein norms for the FFS to establish some advantageous operators, namely, Fermatean fuzzy Einstein weighted averaging (FFEWA), Fermatean fuzzy Einstein ordered weighted averaging (FFEOWA), generalized Fermatean fuzzy Einstein weighted averaging (GFFEWA), and generalized Fermatean fuzzy Einstein ordered weighted averaging (GFFEOWA) operators. Some properties and important results of the proposed operators are highlighted. As an addition to the MADM strategies, an approach, based on the proposed operators, is presented to deal with Fermatean fuzzy data in MADM problems. Moreover, multiattribute decision-making (MADM) problem for the selection of an effective sanitizer to reduce coronavirus is presented to show the capability and proficiency of this new idea. The results are compared with the Fermatean fuzzy TOPSIS method to exhibit the potency of the proposed model.

Probabilistic hesitant fuzzy Set (PHFs) is the most powerful and comprehensive idea to support more complexity than developed fuzzy set (FS) frameworks. In this paper, it can explain a novel, improved TOPSIS-based method for multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problem through the Probabilistic hesitant fuzzy environment, in which the weights of both experts and criteria are completely unknown. Firstly, we discuss the concept of PHFs, score functions and the basic operating laws of PHFs. In fact, to compute the unknown weight information, the generalized distance measure for PHFs was defined based on the Probabilistic hesitant fuzzy entropy measure. Second, MCGDM will be presented with the PHF information-based decision-making process.

This research article focuses on industrial applications to demonstrate the characterization of current and vibration analysis to diagnose the induction motor drive problems. Generally, the induction motor faults are detected by monitoring the current and proposed fine-tuned vibration frequency method. The stator short circuit fault, broken rotor bar fault, air gap eccentricity, and bearing fault are the common faults that occur in an induction motor. The detection process of the proposed method is based on sidebands around the supply frequency in the stator current signal and vibration. Moreover, it is very challenging to diagnose the problem that occur due to the complex electromagnetic and mechanical characteristics of an induction motor with vibration measures. The design of an accurate model to measure vibration and stator current is analyzed in this research article. The proposed method is showing how efficiently the root cause of the problem can be diagnosed by using the combination of current and vibration monitoring method. The proposed model is developed for induction motor and its circuit environment in MATLAB is verified to perform an accurate detection and diagnosis of motor fault parameters. All stator faults are turned to turn fault; further, the rotor-broken bar and eccentricity are structured in each test. The output response (torque and stator current) is simulated by using a modified winding procedure (MWP) approach by tuning the winding geometrical parameter. The proposed model in MATLAB Simulink environment is highly symmetrical, which can easily detect the signal component in fault frequencies that occur due to a slight variation and improper motor installation. Finally, this research article compares the other existing methods with proposed method.

Selecting appropriate and resilient suppliers is an important issue in supply chain management (SCM) literature. Making an effective decision on this issue can decrease external risks and disruptions, purchase costs, and delay times and also guarantees business continuity in the event of disruptions and, consequently, increases company competitiveness and customer satisfaction. This paper aims to provide a model based on identifying and investigating related criteria to evaluate suppliers’ resilience and select the most resilient suppliers in Iran’s electronic industry. To this purpose, the screening technique, the best–worst methodology (BWM), and goal programming (GP) have been applied in the fuzzy environment. The proposed model has been implemented and demonstrated by a case study of the electronic industry, as a real-life example. The results show that agility (0.227), compatibility (0.153), and vulnerability (0.102) are the most important factors for a resilient supplier.
