As one of the most significant indices to estimate dam behavior, the study of deformation monitoring indices has become a hot spot recently. In this paper, a method based on lifting wavelet and multi-component cloud model is proposed. For this method, the time dependent component which can evaluate the dam behavior is decomposed and reconstructed by lifting wavelet firstly. According to the time dependent component, those monitoring data which can reflect the present situation of dam could be chosen. After that, compute the deformation monitoring indices of each component based on the valid data through the multi-component cloud model. And then the deformation monitoring indices of dam as well as the certainty degrees could be acquired finally. The proposed approach is tested with cloud model based on the whole monitoring data and typical small probability method relies on 1% and 5% significance level respectively. Experimental results show that this proposed method yields an excellent performance in calculating the dam safety deformation monitoring indices, which could be utilized in actual projects.

The article presents monitoring data on the identification and determination of the species composition of phytophages and phytopathogens of ordinary hop plantings in the Chuvash Republic in conditions of high temperatures and a dry summer of 2018. Studies were conducted on hop plantations in the hop-growing enterprises of the Chuvash Republic in 2018. Methods of identifying, accounting for pests and diseases were carried out in accordance with the methodological recommendations on the forecast of development and accounting of pests and diseases of agricultural plants. Observations on the species composition showed a stable structure of the species community. Against the background of high summer temperatures and droughts, there was a clear inhibition of pest populations, at the same time some species of phytophages felt well and adapted to these conditions, completed development cycles favorably, and left for wintering quite a lot. The greatest damage to hop planting this year was caused by an ordinary spider mite. The timely detection and localization of foci of spider mite gave the opportunity to prevent the spread, control the number and harmfulness.

Fullerenes engineered nanomaterials are regarded as emerging environmental contaminants. This is as their widespread application in many consumer products, as well as natural release, increases their environmental concentration. In this work, an ultrasonic-assisted pressurized liquid extraction (UAPLE) method followed by high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet-visible detector (HPLC-UV-vis) was developed for extraction and determination of fullerene in sediments. The method was validated and found to be suitable for environmental risk assessment. Thereafter, the method was used for the determination of fullerene (C61-PCBM) in sediment samples collected from Umgeni River, South Africa. The current method allows for adequate sensitivity within the linear range of 0.01–4 µg g−1, method limit detection of 0.0094 µg g−1 and recoveries ranged between 67–84%. All the parameters were determined from fortified sediments samples. The measured environmental concentration (MEC) of fullerene in the sediment samples ranged from not detected to 30.55 µg g−1. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the occurrence and ecological risk assessment of carbonaceous fullerene nanoparticles in African sediments and biosolids.
