Na-CMC adalah eter polimer selulosa linier yang digunakan sebagai bahan pengental, pengemulsi dan penstabil. Salah satu bahan dasar pembuatan Na-CMC yaitu serabut kelapa sawit. Serabut kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu hasil samping terbesar yang dihasilkan dalam proses pengolahan minyak kelapa sawit dan dapat dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber selulosa karena mengandung selulosa hingga 59,60%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendaptakan komposisi optimal campuran media reaksi isopropanol-etanol dan konsentrasi asam trikloroasetat serta konsentrasi NaOH dengan memvariasikan komposisi media reaksi isopropanol-etanol menjadi 20:80; 40:60; 50:50; 60:40 dan 80:20, sedangkan untuk konsentrasi asam trikloroasetat yaitu 15%, 20% san 25% dan untuk konsentrasi NaOH adlah 15% dan 20%. Didapat bahwa  komposisi optimal media reaksi pada proses sintesis Na-CMC terdapat pada campuran isopropanol-etanol 80:20 dengan konsentrasi asam trikloroasetat 25% dan konsentrasi NaOH 20% menghasilkan nilai DS yang tertinggi yaitu sebesar 0,8124 dengan kemurnian dan pH berturut-turut sebesar 99,68% dan 7,9.   Na-CMC is a linear cellulose polymer ether used as a thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer. One of the basic ingredients for making Na-CMC is palm fiber. Palm fiber is one of the largest by-products produced in the palm oil processing process and can be used as a source of cellulose because it contains up to 59.60% cellulose. The purpose of this study was to obtain the optimal composition of the isopropanol-ethanol reaction media mixture and the concentration of trichloroacetic acid and NaOH concentration by varying the composition of the isopropanol-ethanol reaction medium to 20:80; 40:60; 50:50; 60:40 and 80:20, while the concentrations of trichloroacetic acid were 15%, 20% and 25% and the concentrations of NaOH were 15% and 20%, respectively. It was found that the optimal composition of the reaction medium in the Na-CMC synthesis process was found in a mixture of isopropanol-ethanol 80:20 with a concentration of 25% trichloroacetic acid and 20% NaOH concentration resulting in the highest DS value of 0.8124 with purity and pH respectively. 99.68% and 7.9.

In the present study, pomegranate peels, avocado peels, and seed vacuum microwave extraction solid by-products were supplemented in corn silage in order to investigate the effects on meat quality and growth rate in broiler chicken. There were 50 broilers, divided in two groups, treated with experimental or usual feed for 43 days (group A: 25 broilers fed with avocado and pomegranate by-products and group B: 25 broilers fed with corn-silage used as control). The results showed that broiler chickens fed with a diet supplemented with a mixture of pomegranate avocado by-products (group A) showed significant differences in chicken leg meat quality, significantly improving the level of proteins and fatty acids content in breast and leg meat, respectively. More specific ω3 and ω6 fatty acids content were three times higher than in group B. Moreover, a protective effect on the decomposition of polyunsaturated fatty acids, induced by free radicals and presented in chicken meat, is based on the evaluation of lipid peroxidation by measuring thiobarbituric acid reactive substances. Pomegranate peels, avocado peels, and seed by-products appeared to have a slight reduction on meat production, while it was found to improve the qualitative chicken meat characteristics. Regarding the production costs, it was calculated that the corn-silage supplementation, used in this study, lead to a 50% lower cost than the commercial corn-silage used for the breeding of broilers.

It is based on the fact that small-scale coconut oil processing in micro-scale businesses is facing serious threats and competition with palm oil produced by large and medium-sized entrepreneurs, resulting in a downturn in business as well as weakening the motivation of coconut farmers to process coconut production into coconut oil. As a result, coconut farmers in their daily lives actually buy palm oil processed by large and medium entrepreneurs, while their businesses are getting worse. In line with this, through this research, an analysis of the obstacles and opportunities for the development of the people's coconut oil processing industry was carried out. The purpose of this study was to analyze the barriers to developing the people's coconut oil processing industry on a micro-scale business and to analyze the opportunities for developing the people's coconut oil processing industry on a micro-scale business. The research method is through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to identify obstacles and opportunities for developing the coconut oil processing industry, followed by Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine priority problems and priority opportunities that should be carried out by multi-stakeholders for the development of the coconut oil processing industry. The results showed that the priority obstacles to the development of the coconut oil processing industry in micro-scale businesses in Konawe Islands Regency were product marketing problems, financial capital, and business funding problems, production equipment problems, skilled labor issues, raw material problems, micro-business protection policy issues, business organization, and management problems, as well as problems in the use of information technology and innovation. The priority of opportunities for the development of the micro-scale coconut oil processing industry in Konawe Kepualauan Regency is the presence of economic value by-products of coconut oil processing, namely shell charcoal, nata de coco, and coconut coir, there is a tendency for people to consume more coconut oil than consume coconut oil. Organizational and business management problems, as well as problems in the use of information technology and innovation.
