Abstract. Mangrove forests are highly productive tropical and subtropical coastal systems that provide a variety of ecosystem services, including the sequestration of carbon. While mangroves are reported to be the most intense carbon sinks among all forests, they can also support large emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4), to the atmosphere. However, data derived from arid mangrove systems like the Red Sea are lacking. Here, we report net emission rates of CO2 and CH4 from mangroves along the eastern coast of the Red Sea and assess the relative role of these two gases in supporting total GHG emissions to the atmosphere. Diel CO2 and CH4 emission rates ranged from −3452 to 7500 µmol CO2 m−2 d−1 and from 0.9 to 13.3 µmol CH4 m−2 d−1 respectively. The rates reported here fall within previously reported ranges for both CO2 and CH4, but maximum CO2 and CH4 flux rates in the Red Sea are 10- to 100-fold below those previously reported for mangroves elsewhere. Based on the isotopic composition of the CO2 and CH4 produced, we identified potential origins of the organic matter that support GHG emissions. In all but one mangrove stand, GHG emissions appear to be supported by organic matter from mixed sources, potentially reducing CO2 fluxes and instead enhancing CH4 production, a finding that highlights the importance of determining the origin of organic matter in GHG emissions. Methane was the main source of CO2 equivalents despite the comparatively low emission rates in most of the sampled mangroves and therefore deserves careful monitoring in this region. By further resolving GHG fluxes in arid mangroves, we will better ascertain the role of these forests in global carbon budgets.

ABSTRAK Kabupaten Pekalongan merupakan lokasi yang memiliki potensi tinggi dalam penggunaan Surat Kuasa Membebankan Hak Tanggungan (SKMHT), hal ini disebabkan oleh gencarnya pembangunan oleh masyarakat yang membutuhkan dana besar yang antara lain berasal dari kredit yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan lembaga Hak Tanggungan yang selanjutnya menimbulkan berbagai masalah seperti apabila debitor wanprestasi. BTN selaku kreditor dalam pemberian KPR bersubsidi kepada debitor umumnya tidak menguasai benda yang menjadi jaminan kredit secara fisik, tetapi hanya memiliki hak kebendaan secara administratif. Pengikatan obyek jaminan yang berupa tanah, yaitu Hak Milik, Hak Guna Bangunan dan Hak Guna Usaha, prosesnya hanya sampai dengan Surat Kuasa Membebankan Hak Tanggungan (SKMHT) saja, dengan tidak dibebankan Hak Tanggungan atas obyek jaminan tersebut, maka BTN belum memiliki hak kebendaan atas jaminan tersebut secara faktual.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis peran notaris dalam hal debitor wanprestasi, penggunaan SKMHT yang tidak diikuti APHT dalam hal debitor wanprestasi terkait dengan pemberian fasilitas Kredit Pemilikan Rumah Subsidi pada Bank Tabungan Negara serta upaya pihak Bank Tabungan Negara dalam hal debitor wanprestasi terhadap pemberian fasilitas Kredit Pemilikan Rumah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis kualitatif, yaitu data yang diperoleh disusun secara sistematis kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif agar dapat diperoleh kejelasan masalah yang akan dibahas.Dalam penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa dalam menghadapi debitor wanprestasi Bank BTN mengambil langkah melakukan penjualan kembali dengan menggunakan kuasa menjual yang tercantum dalam akta “Pengakuan Hutang”, serta peningkatan SKMHT ke APHTkepada calon debitor, dan peran notaris yang hanya sebagai pembuat akta sehingga tidak turut serta jika terjadi wanprestasi.Kata kunci: Notaris, SKMHT, APHT, wanprestasi ABSTRACTPekalongan Regency is a location that has a high potential in the use of Power of Attorney Charging the Guarantee Right (SKMHT), this is caused by incessant development by people who need big fund which among others comes from the credit obtained by using the Mortgage Institution which further cause various problems such as if the debtor is defaulted. BTN as a creditor in the granting of subsidized KPR to the debtor generally does not control objects that become credit for physical security, but only have the right of property administratively. The binding of the object of collateral in the form of land, namely Right of Ownership, Building Rights and Cultivation Right, the process is only up to the Power of Attorney Charging the Guarantee Right (SKMHT) only, without the burden of the Guaranteed Fund on the object of the guarantee, BTN has no material right the guarantee is factual.The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the role of a notary in the case of debtor wanprestasi, the use of SKMHT not followed APHT in the case of debtor wanprestasi associated with the provision of Subsidized House Ownership Credit in the State Savings Bank and the efforts of the State Savings Bank in the case of debt defaulting to the grant Housing Loan facility. The method used in this study is the method of qualitative analysis, the data obtained is arranged systematically and then analyzed qualitatively in order to obtain clarity of issues to be discussed.In this study it is concluded that in the face of debtor wanprestasi Bank BTN take steps to resell by using the power of sale which stated in deed "Recognition of Debt", and increase SKMHT to APHT to debitor candidate, and notary role which only as deed maker so do not participate if there was a default.Keywords: notary, SKMHT, APHT, wanprestasi

The role of the background species of mouse-like rodents in the preservation of arboviral infections in the semi-desert zone of Saratov Zavolzhie was studied. Determined were the indices of their number in the near-water and anthropogenic biotopes, and arboviral infection rate in some species. Substantiated was high potential epidemic danger of the intrazonal biotopes as centers of formation of associated natural foci of arboviral infections.

The use of biomass has increased significantly in recent years. In this context, the use of not valued high-potential biomass (NVHPB) is emerging as a suitable alternative. This is the case of pruning vine, pruning kiwi, scrub (heather, gorse, broom) and forest pruning. The objective of this research was to study the potential of six selected agroforestry biomasses as biofuels in thermochemical processes. For that purpose, biomass was collected by specific machinery. Proximate and ultimate analyses were carried out as well as the inorganic compounds’ determination. Then, natural and forced drying were conducted. Low heating values (LHV) between 17 and 20 MJ/kg (dry basis) were achieved in all analyzed cases. Granulometric reduction, biomass classification and densification took place. Finally, energy recovery tests through microcogeneration were carried out. Values close to 97% in cogeneration efficiency were reached (9% net electric yield and 88% thermal yield), offering an alternative to obtain clean energy.

Abstract Freshwater pools commonly form eccentric crescent patterns in peatlands, an important atmospheric methane (CH4) source, and show an apparent spatial association with eskers in some deglaciated regions. However, the role of underlying permeable glacial deposits such as eskers in regulating hydrogeology, and perhaps even carbon cycling, in peatlands is rarely considered. In this study, ground-penetrating radar imaging and direct coring confirmed that clustered pools coincide with buried esker crests in contact with peat soil in Caribou Bog and Kanokolus Bog in Maine (USA). Hydraulic head and geochemical data combined with lidar indicate vertical water flow from shallow peat toward the permeable esker crests, suggesting enhanced downward transport of labile organic carbon that presumably accelerates rates of methanogenesis in deep peat. Eskers might therefore serve as proxies for enhanced CH4 production in deep peat, as supported by differences in dissolved CH4 profiles depending on proximity to pools. Geographic data compiled from multiple sources suggest that many peatlands with eccentric pools appear to be located proximal to esker systems in Maine and Fennoscandia. These geological factors may be important, previously unrecognized controls on water and the carbon cycle in peatlands.

E-commerce is undergoing some changes in the modern conditions, the most important of them being an increase in the share of orders with a decrease in the average check and the development of new forms of e-commerce. A comprehensive analysis of the development of e-commerce in the modern conditions is provided in the article, the main trends are identified, and the important role of integrated forms in the field of business organization in the digital environment, in particular, marketplaces, is demonstrated. The obtained results allowed to identify the main directions of the development of distance selling using digital technologies in the modern conditions.

Environmental contextThe extent to which organic matter decomposition generates carbon dioxide or methane in anaerobic ecosystems is determined by the presence or absence of particular electron acceptors. Evaluating carbon dioxide and methane production in anaerobic incubation of peat, we found that organic matter predominated as an electron acceptor over considered inorganic electron acceptors. We also observed changes in organic sulfur speciation suggesting a contribution of organic sulfur species to the electron-accepting capacity of organic matter. AbstractAn often observed excess of CO2 production over CH4 production in freshwater ecosystems presumably results from a direct or indirect role of organic matter (OM) as electron acceptor, possibly supported by a cycling of oxidised and reduced sulfur species. To confirm the role of OM electron-accepting capacities (EACOM) in anaerobic microbial respiration and to elucidate internal sulfur cycling, peat soil virtually devoid of inorganic electron acceptors was incubated under anaerobic conditions. Thereby, production of CO2 and CH4 at a cumulative ratio of 3.2:1 was observed. From excess CO2 production and assuming a nominal oxidation state of carbon in OM of zero, we calculated a net consumption rate of EACOM of 2.36µmol electron (e–)cm–3day–1. Addition of sulfate (SO42–) increased CO2 and suppressed CH4 production. Moreover, subtracting the EAC provided though SO42–, net consumption rates of EACOM had increased to 3.88–4.85µmol e–cm–3day–1, presumably owing to a re-oxidation of sulfide by OM at sites otherwise not accessible for microbial reduction. As evaluated by sulfur K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy, bacterial sulfate reduction presumably involved not only a recycling of inorganic sulfur species, but also a sulfurisation of OM, yielding reduced organic sulfur, and changes in oxidised organic sulfur species. Organic matter thus contributes to anaerobic respiration: (i) directly by EAC of redox-active functional groups; (ii) directly by oxidised organic sulfur; and (iii) indirectly by re-oxidation of sulfide to maintain bacterial sulfate reduction.
