SynopsisThe passage of ova down the Fallopian tube and uterine horn of one side into the horn of the other side is generally referred to as transuterine migration. There is evidence that such transmigration can occur in a wide variety of animals—Ungulata, Carnivora, Cheiroptera, Insectivora and Primates (Boyd, Hamilton and Hammond, 1944; Marshall'sPhysiology of Reproduction, 1952). In all these forms the genital tract has a single supravaginal segment varying from a common cervical canal to the single uterine cavity of the primate uterus simplex. The uterus of the albino rat is generally described as “uterus duplex”, with separate cervical canals opening independently into the vagina, and it has been stated by Hanson and Boone (1925, 1926) and by Slonaker (1927) that there is no evidence that transuterine migration occurs in the albino rat. In the course of an experimental investigation of the vascular pattern in pregnancy in the rat, some results were obtained which indicate that transuterine migration can occur in the albino rat.

Introduction: The goal of this study was to identify the profile of genital tract infections and their relationship with clinical and demographic parameters as well as tubal diseases among infertile women in Vietnam. Methodology: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, we enrolled 597 women undergoing infertility treatment at the Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Hue University Hospital, Vietnam. All of the study participants were interviewed and examined by a gynecologist. Consecutive tests were then conducted including direct microscopy examination (wet mount and Gram stain), vaginal culture, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for chlamydia diagnosis from a cervical canal swab, and a blood test for syphilis detection. A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) was carried out to examine the uterine cavity and Fallopian tubes. Results: A gynecologic infection was diagnosed in 43.4% (259/597) of the infertile women. Bacterial vaginosis was the most common condition at 19.6%of the cases. Candida spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, and Trichomonas vaginalis infections accounted for 17.4%, 3.7%, and 0.3%, respectively. Normal HSG results accounted for 87.4% of the women while 5.5% had 2-sided tubal occlusions, 5.4% had 1-sided tubal occlusions, 1.0% had 1-sided hydrosalpinx, and 0.7% had 2-sided hydrosalpinx. There was no significant association between tubal diseases and current infections; however, aerobic vaginitis increased the risk of tubal diseases by 2.4 times. Conclusions: A marked proportion of infertile Vietnamese women have genital tract infections that can significantly influence their reproductive function and performance. These infections should be routinely screened and treated properly to prevent their consequences, such as infertility, which is especially important in developing countries.

The contradictory opinions prevailing in the sciences regarding the use of the so-called objective antiseptics in obstetrics forced W. to discuss the controversial issue of asepticity or non-asepticity of female genital tracts, and he came to some results. The genital tract of an unexamined pregnant woman breaks up in bacteriological relation into two sections: the lower one, rich in microorganisms, and the upper one, completely free of microbes. The border between both sections is located in the middle part of the cervical canal and is caused on the one hand by constantly renewing cervical mucus, which is a poor nutrient medium for microorganisms, and on the other hand, by phagocytosis, which has a place in the lower part of the uterine cervix, due to the property of the vaginal secretion of the vagina. from the surrounding tissues.

Abstract Objective: Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by the growth of endometrial cells outside the uterine cavity. The dysfunction of the immune system is strongly associated with the progression of endometriosis, and is also correlated to the diversity of microbiota in the genital tract. According to previous studies, the microbiota significantly contributes to multi-systemic function, but the evidence of endometriosis and adenomyosis remains insufficient. Thus, the present study attempted to identify the characteristics of microbiota in endometriosis patients, and the connection between microbiota and immunological dysfunction. Methods: In order to compare and explore the potential microbiota correlated to endometriosis and adenomyosis in the genital tract, 134 samples obtained from the cervical canal, posterior fornix and uterine cavity were analyzed by 16s-rRNA sequencing. The raw data was filtered, analyzed and visualized, and bio-information methods were used to identify the different and distinctive characteristics of microbiota. Results: Two different locations near the cervix, cervical canal and posterior fornix, exhibited no differences in alpha diversity. Among the different disease groups, five microbiota were distinctive in the genus level, and Atopobium presented with the greatest significance in adenomyoisis-endometriosis patients. The LEfSe analysis failed to identify the special biomarkers, while several characteristic functions were identified through PICRUSt. Conclusion: Lactobacillus is dominant in the female lower genital tract, and Atopobium is distinctively higher in patients with endometriosis combined with adenomyosis. Several different functions of microbiota were explored, and these are found to be associated with endometriosis and adenomyosis. These findings may provide a new concept of microbiota/immune system/endometriosis system. There is an urgent need to investigate the potential microbial biomarkers of endometriosis in the future.

The experimental investigation of reciprocating motion between the aluminum doped crumb rubber /epoxy composite and the steel ball has been carried out under Reciprocating Friction Tester, TR-282 to study the wear and coefficient of frictions using different normal loads (0.4Kg, 0.7Kgand1Kg), differentfrequencies (10Hz, 25Hz and 40Hz).The wear is a function of normal load, reciprocating frequency, reciprocating duration and the composition of the material. The percentage of aluminum presents in the composite changesbut the other components remain the same.The four types of composites are fabricated by compression molding process having 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% Al. The effect of different parameters such as normal load, reciprocating frequency and percentage of aluminum has been studied. It is observed that the wear and coefficient of friction is influenced by the parameters. The tendency of wear goes on decreasing with the increase of normal load and it is minimum for a composite having 10%aluminum at a normal load of 0.7Kg and then goes on increasing at higher loads for all types of composite due to the adhesive nature of the composite. The coefficient of friction goes on decreasing with increasing normal loads due to the formation of thin film as an effect of heat generation with normal load.

Introduction: Healthy women of reproductive age have a vaginal pH around 4.5, whereas little is known about pH in the upper genital tract. A shift in the vaginal microbiota may result in an elevated pH in the upper genital tract. This might contribute to decreased fertility and increased risk of preterm birth. Therefore, we aimed to measure pH in different compartments of the female genital tract in both nonpregnant and pregnant women, stratifying into a normal and abnormal vaginal microbiota. Material and methods: In this descriptive study, we included 6 nonpregnant, 12 early-pregnant, and 8 term-pregnant women. A pH gradient was recorded with a flexible pH probe. An abnormal vaginal microbiota was diagnosed by a quantitative polymerase chain reaction technique for Atopobium vaginae; Sneathia sanguinegens; Leptotrichia amnionii; bacterial vaginosis-associated bacterium 1, 2, 3, and TM7; and Prevotella spp. among others. Results: In all participants we found the pH gradient in the lower reproductive canal to be most acidic in the lower vagina and most alkaline in the upper uterine cavity. Women with an abnormal vaginal microbiota had an increased pH in the lower vagina compared to the other groups. Conclusions: There is a pronounced pH gradient within the female genital tract. This gradient is not disrupted in women with an abnormal vaginal microbiota.

In this research, the results of an experimental survey on the measurement of vertical stresses are presented. Four treatments were used in this study such as combination of geotextile vertical and horizontal structure with dimensions of 5 × 5 and 10 × 10 cm, horizontal geotextile and the treatment without geotextile. Five sensors were installed in different hole locations and the lead of the truck traffic was transmitted by cables to data logging and recording devices to measure the pressure from vehicle traffic on the simulated pavement layer. Mean comparison of the treatments showed that the geotextile with vertical and horizontal structure and dimensions of 5 × 5 cm exerted the lowest pressure on the lower layers compared with the other treatments and there was a significant difference between the value of this treatment and the other treatments and that this treatment could significantly reduce the pressure of truck traffic on the forest road.

This paper provides a brief survey of the experimental and theoretical situation regarding the galvano- and thermomagnetic properties of potassium viewed within the context of the behaviour of other metals. Most of the data are consistent with various sample imperfections as being the major source of the anomalies that are found. However, the precise nature of the imperfections and the mechanism by which the imperfections produce the anomalies are not yet known. It is argued that the recently discovered detailed structure in the high field induced torque of K should be subjected to intensive experimental investigation before drawing any conclusions with regards to the possible presence of a charge density wave; the other magnetotransport properties offer little evidence either for or against such a possibility.

Uterine prolapse complicating pregnancy is rare. Two cases are presented here: one patient had uterine prolapse at both her second and third pregnancy, and the other developed only once prolapse during pregnancy. This report will analyze etiology, clinical characteristics, complication, and treatment of uterine prolapse in pregnancy. Routine gynecologic examination should be carried out during pregnancy. If uterine prolapse occurred, conservative treatment could be used to prolong the gestational period as far as possible. Vaginal delivery is possible, but caesarean section seems a better alternative when prolapsed uterus cannot resolve during childbirth.
