A national survey of broiler industry executives is conducted to analyze site-specific factors related to the broiler-complex location problem. Conjoint analysis is used to analyze the broiler complex location decision. Feed costs, community attitude toward the broiler industry, availability of geographically concentrated growers, unemployment rates, and wage rates were found to be the top five factors affecting broiler company location decisions. The quality of roads between feed mill and growers; electricity, heating, water, and sewage costs; and the number of potential growers in the region were also found to be important.

Measuring the quality of service and customer satisfaction is ultimately important for ISPs to remain in business. In order to achieve a good quality of service, understanding the two-way relationship among customers in a variety of patterns of quality of service is crucial. Three methods of analysis namely; Penalty Rewards Contrast Analysis (PRCA), Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) were used in the analysis to identify the causes of the main problems that affect the level of customer satisfaction. For the PRCA analysis, factors that were categorized as onedimensional are service quality, promotion, as well as payment of bills of paid Wi-Fi services and the promotional factor of free Wi-Fi services. Based on the IPA results, there were eight attributes for paid Wi-Fi services and four attributes of free Wi-Fi services in the first quadrant. These attributes are important but their performance are low. Therefore, these attributes need to be emphasized further to increase their level of performance. Meanwile, the CSI analysis showed that all five factors are found to be at a good level and being categorized in the indifferent zone.

This report identifies the risk and regulatory factors that influence location decisions by research-based pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies. The primary data are from interviews with 34 senior executives representing 14 research-based pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies. These interviews provided qualitative information on the particular factors that matter and their relative importance in selecting a host country for an investment. The specific factors that influence the general willingness of companies to invest in a particular country are: industry history, the incremental nature of investments, stability, structure of the pharmaceutical marketplace, access to leading scientists and physicians, adequate supply of skilled workers, sufficient patient population for clinical trials, tax policy, and transport links both within the region served and to global headquarters.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to redefine quality in the context of “access” providing higher education institutions (HEIs), through a theoretical lens, in order to find solutions to the wicked problem of access vs quality and “inclusiveness vs excellence” debate in higher education (HE).Design/methodology/approachThis theoretical paper builds upon institutional theory and resource dependency theory to, first, analyse access vs quality debate and, second, provide answers to the undesirable and at times conflicting “trilemma” of scale, cost and quality in HEIs. To achieve the second objective, the paper offers a different perspective to address trilemma by proposing a synergistic coexistence between inclusiveness and excellence through “transformative” quality and learning theory.Findings“Transformative” quality uses reframing the problem, appraising culture and quality concepts, and eventually develops transformative interventions in access providing HEIs to improve their quality and enhance inclusiveness. Inclusiveness in HEIs needs to be addressed through the investigation of specific hypotheses, for which a closer examination of factors impacting the quality of access providing HEIs has been conducted. The goal is to facilitate a perfect mélange of inclusiveness and excellence in HE and, thus, create a new learning environment.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper contributes towards the access vs quality debate through transformative quality by developing transformative interventions and investigating factors affecting quality in HE.Practical implicationsThe contribution has several policy, managerial and governance implications. Addressing these implications will enable the promotion of the third mission of HE, that is, to develop graduates who meaningfully engage with the society and their profession.Originality/valueQuality and inclusiveness is a serious global problem requiring immediate attention and rigorous theory-informed frameworks. Through the investigation of specific factors and proposing meaningful interventions, this paper identifies the need to study a critical issue having global implications and investigates how it can be resolved.

<p>This paper aims to understand factors determining location decision, or country selection of Readymade Garments (RMG) outsourcing in global supply chain management. In the process, this article fills a knowledge gap by proposing a unique model that relates country determinant factors and firm’s motives to location choice specific for RMG outsourcing moderated by firm’s size and age. The overall framework enlightens the scholars about the significance of distinguishing factors as the basis for differential outsourcing location decisions. Multinational managers may find it useful to identify the optimum outsourcing location decisions considering idiosyncratic factors that are unique to RMG outsourcing location decision. </p>

This study analyzes the factors affecting customer satisfaction about the service quality of businesses operating in the field of logistics, using the case study conducted at Duong Vy company. From the SERVQUAL model of Parasuraman, this study develops a model to measure the satisfaction of logistics service quality which consists of five factors, including (1) reliability, (2) responsiveness, (3) assurance, (4) empathy, and (5) tangibles. The study used quantitative methods (linear regression) to analyze data sets collected from 256 customers of Duong Vy to test the research hypotheses. The results show that responsiveness, assurances, and empathy have a positive impact on customer satisfaction. This comes from the characteristics of logistics industries that require assurance and accurate responsiveness. Therefore, the study offers some solutions for Duong Vy as well as the logistics industry to improve the quality of logistics services, such as (1) invest to improve the assessment of tangible value and customer trust; and (2) promote assurance, responsiveness, and empathy to increase customer satisfaction and enhance business efficiency.

The quality of hospital services remains a concern of both the manager and the patient. The study aims to identify factors affecting outpatient satisfaction at private general hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, establishing a scale for measuring them. Some 450 outpatients who were treated in five top private hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) in 2019 – An Sinh General Hospital, Hoan My General Hospital, Columbia Asia International Hospital, FV Hospital, and Vu Anh International General Hospital – were interviewed directly in the last quarter of 2019 to obtain the information. The SERVPERF model, plus the cost, together with the SPSS software, have been used to process information by Cronbach’s alpha analysis, Exploratory Factor analysis, and linear regression analysis. The results show that there are five factors influencing outpatient satisfaction at private general hospitals in HCMC, in which four factors affects positively in the order of decreasing importance: treatment outcome, doctors and nurses’ professional capacity, facilities and environment of the hospital, hospital care, and the treatment time factor affects negatively. The results of the study provide private hospital in HCMC managers with a number of suggestions to increase the level of hospital service quality, so that increase outpatients satisfaction.

This paper describes two geographically separated studies concerning plant location decisions in the electronics industry. It was found that economic factors tend to outweigh noneconomic factors as important location decision variables for this industry. Differences in the importance of factor ordering was found between the two studies. The implications of location analysis are discussed with regard to differences in industries, geographical areas and local conditions. Overall, the study implies that the location decision is situational in nature.
