Abstract A compact ultrawideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) is designed by harnessing the efficacy of a Pythagorean tree fractal shape stub-loaded resonator. The design inherently provides the passband transmission poles, which make it convenient to be used in wide passband filtering circuits. The number and the position of the resonating modes can be controlled by increasing the iterations of the Pythagorean tree, as analyzed using odd- and even-mode analysis. Design steps of the BPF are detailed. The designed UWB BPF takes up a small circuit area of (12.13 × 9.59) mm2. The proposed design is fabricated and measured to verify the simulated results. The stopband is extended up to 17.5 GHz with a maximum attenuation of 15 dB.

In this paper, a novel multi-mode resonator is presented, which is formed by cascading several open-circuited transmission line sections with a coupled-line section. Owing to its symmetry, even- and odd-mode analysis methods are applied to analyze its resonance characteristic. Based on this resonator, a microstrip ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) bandpass filter is designed, fabricated, and measured. The simulated and measured results show that its bandwidth can cover the desired UWB. Return loss in passband is better than −14 dB. This filter is featured by good selectivity and wide stopband. Stopband suppression as low as −40 dB can be achieved within frequency range from 12 to 16 GHz.

In this paper, a dual-wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with independently controllable center frequencies (CFs) and wide stopband suppression is presented using a new quintuple-mode resonator (QMR). By applying the classical odd-/even-mode analysis method, the resonant characteristics of the new QMR have been analyzed. It shows that five modes can be excited, and two of them can be employed to form the lower passband, while the other three modes contribute to the higher passband. For verification, a dual-wideband BPF using the new QMR is designed, fabricated, and tested. Experimental results show that the CFs of the dual-wideband BPF centered at 2.96 GHz and 5.695 GHz with 3 dB fractional bandwidths of 27.7 and 23.4%, respectively. In addition, 20-dB suppression in upper-stopband ranges from 2.23 to 4.04f0, where f0 is the center frequency of the first passband. The measurement results are in good agreement with the prediction results.

AbstractThis paper presents a modern compact quad-band bandpass filter (BPF) using dual-mode stub loaded half wave (λ/2) resonators, where a couple of directly fed resonators are loaded with two identical inner resonators such that the direct fed resonators will act as feeding structure for the loaded resonators. Based on the proposed stub loaded resonators, a modern filter with seven transmission zeros (TZs) is designed by folding the two identical inner resonators. The proposed design has a symmetrical geometry, therefore even-odd mode analysis is used to predict the resonant frequencies of the passbands. The first and second passbands are obtained through fundamental odd and even modes respectively while the third one is achieved by placing loaded inner resonators in the proposed design. The second even harmonic of the direct fed resonators is utilized to achieve the fourth passband and is controlled by the stubs loaded at the middle of the resonators. The filter is simulated and fabricated for the purpose of validation, wherein a good agreement can be seen in both simulated and experimental results.

A dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) composed of a coupling structure and a bent T-shaped resonator loaded by small L-shaped stubs is presented in this paper. The first band of the proposed BPF covers 4.6 to 10.6 GHz, showing 78.9% fractional bandwidth (FBW) at 7.6 GHz, and the second passband is cantered at 11.5 GHz with a FBW of 2.34%. The bent T-shaped resonator generates two transmission zeros (TZs) near the wide passband edges, which are used to tune the bandwidth of the first band, and the L-shaped stubs are used to create and control the narrow passband. The selectivity performance of the BPF is analyzed using the transfer function extracted from the lumped circuit model verified by a detailed even/odd mode analysis. The BPF presents a flat group delay (GD) of 0.45 ns and an insertion loss (IL) less than 0.6 dB in the wide passband and a 0.92 IL in the narrow passband. A prototype of the proposed BPF is fabricated and tested, showing very good agreement between the numerically predicted and measured results.

IPA Integrated is a place for students to study themselves and the surrounding environment applied in daily life. Integrated IPA Learning provides a direct experience to students through the use and development of scientific skills and attitudes. The importance of integrated IPA requires to pack learning well, integrated IPA integration with the preparation of modules combined with learning strategy can maximize the learning process in school. In SMP 209 Jakarta, the value of the integrated IPA is obtained from 34 students there are 10 students completed and 24 students are not complete because they get the value below the KKM of 68. This research is a development study with the development model of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The use of KPS-based integrated IPA modules (Science Process sSkills) on the theme of rainbow phenomenon obtained by media expert validation results with an average score of 84.38%, average material expert 82.18%, average linguist 75.37%. So the average of all aspects obtained by 80.55% is worth using and tested to students. The results of the teacher response obtained 88.69% value with excellent criteria. Student responses on a small scale acquired an average score of 85.19% with highly agreed criteria and on the large-scale student response gained a yield of 86.44% with very agreed criteria. So the module can be concluded receiving a good response by the teacher and students.
