Abstract Gas fermentation by Clostridium autoethanogenum is a commercial process for the sustainable biomanufacturing of fuels and valuable chemicals using abundant, low cost C1 feedstocks (CO and CO2) from sources such as inedible biomass, unsorted and non-recyclable municipal solid waste, and industrial emissions. Efforts towards pathway engineering and elucidation of gene function in this microbe have been limited by a lack of genetic tools to control gene expression and arduous genome engineering methods. To increase the pace of progress, here we developed an inducible CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) system for C. autoethanogenum and applied that system towards transcriptional repression of genes with ostensibly crucial functions in metabolism.

AbstractMost of the industrial acid gas removal (AGR) units employ chemical absorption process for the removal of acid gases from the natural gas. In this study, two gas processing plants operational in Saudi Arabia have been selected where two different amines n1amely, diglycolamine (DGA) and monoethanol amine (MDEA) are used to achieve the sweet gas purity with less than 4 ppm of H2S. This study performed a feasibility simulation of AGR unit by utilizing the amine blend (DGA+MDEA) for both plants instead of a single amine. The study used a commercial process simulator to analyze the impact of process variables such as amine circulation rate, amine strength, lean amine temperature, regenerator inlet temperature, and absorber and regenerator pressure on the process performance. The results reveal that when the MDEA (0–15 wt. %) is added to DGA, marginal energy savings can be achieved. However, significant operational energy savings can be made when the DGA (0–15 wt. %) is blended with MDEA being the main amine.

The stability is one most important product performance index, which can directly determine the quality of the partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ), and the stability of PSZ is always fluctuating in the commercial process, so how to accurately, quickly and easily predict the stability of PSZ in the preparation process is very important. In the present paper, a new mathematical model to predict the stability of PSZ was proposed, based on statistical theory (SLT) and support vector machine (SVM) theory, which relates the stability of PSZ and the influence factors, such as the holding temperature, rising rate of temperature, holding time, decreasing rate of temperature and hardening temperature. Typical data collected from commercial process were collected for the training samples and test samples. Then testing and analyzing was done. The results showed that the max relative error was 1.80%, the least relative error was 0%, and the average relative error was 0.58%. It is accurate and reliable to predict the stability of PSZ by SVM model. Besides, multiple influence factors can be comprehensively considered in the SVM model, thus a new highly effective method for predicting the stability of PSZ is provided for commercial application.

Since fructose is an energy source and is not a sugar involved in diabetes, it was suggested about 40 years ago that it might be a useful alternative to glucose. Interest in the question1–3 has been revived by development of a commercial process for making fructose from starch, by the recognition that artificial sweeteners are potentially hazardous, and by a new awareness that control of blood glucose is necessary to prevent long-term diabetic complications.4

The participation of a lawyer is a fundamental component of the trial. After all, there are many people who need qualified legal assistance, primarily to protect their rights and interests. However, the current legislation of Ukraine regulates the legal relations of procedural representation in different ways, especially with regard to the provision of legal assistance and the performance of functions in court by a lawyer. This question requires a new comprehensive study, taking into account the peculiarities of the legal position of a lawyer in economic and procedural legal relations as their subject and on its basis the following provision: taking into account the special role of a lawyer as a person providing legal assistance. requires a separate regulatory regulation. Introduction of norms in the legislation that will be more in line with the direction of strengthening the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of participants in commercial proceedings during the proceedings in the commercial court, provided that their interests are represented by a lawyer. Thus, we can conclude that the specifics of the lawyer in the commercial process is determined by the specifics of the commercial proceedings.

We determined the virucidal effectiveness against foot-and-mouth disease virus of the low-temperature long-time cooking of virus-contaminated semitendinosus muscle (ST). Of the 11 time and temperature combinations examined, over a range of 63°C to 75°C for extended periods, the respective processing conditions of 71°C for 10.66 h and 75°C for 5.75 h were virucidal. Samples cooked under these temperature-time combinations were more tender (P<0.01) and had better overall acceptability (P<0.05) than beef cuts cooked by conventional commercial processes currently used in Argentina for meat to be exported. Product yields were increased from 60% for the commercial process to 67.8% or 68.6%, respectively, for the two virucidal thermal processes.

When a piece of metal prepared by a commercial process is heated for the first time in vacuo , a considerable amount of gas is usually evolved. With the more refractory metals like nickel or molybdenum, evacuation for a few minutes at 1000° C is sufficient to remove part only of gas present, and prolonged heating for many hours is necessary before the evolution ceases to be measurable. It may be assumed that some part at least of this gas is derived from the body of the metal and must presumably reach the surface by diffusion. The total gas is extracted much more rapidly if the metal is actually melted, and this method of estimating the gases in steel and other metals has been very generally adopted. The fact that the evolution of gases from metals on heating depends upon a process of diffusion from the interior to the surface of the metal, and subsequent evaporation, has been established for the simple gases. The desorption of nitrogen from molybdenum, and of hydrogen from hydrogen-charged nickel has been shown to follow theoretical equations derived from Fick's diffusion law. In practice, the gases obtained from commercial metals often contain a large proportion of compound gases, particularly the oxides of carbon, but very little information is available on the diffusion of such gases through metals.

Acid gas removal to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) in natural gas is one of the most important processes. The common removal process of CO2 from natural gas by using alkanolamine solution This process was adopted as basic module in commercial process simulation tools with various equilibrium models. Thus, this study was focused to evaluate the validity in certain operating condition and equilibrium model that produced by commercial simulation tools. The model in this study included coefficient activity model based on Kent-Eisenberg, Li-Mather, and Electrolyte Non Random Two Liquid (NRTL). The evaluation was conducted by doing analysis from simulation result and experiment data that have been used as reference. Furthermore, validation test in absorption process simulation was done to compare column temperature profile. The overall conclusions show that electrolyte NRTL gives the most accurate result.
