This paper presents the study to investigate the effects of binder ratio, in-gate length and pouring height on hardness, surface roughness and casting defects of sand casting process. Taguchi methodology with L9 orthogonal array was employed to design the experimentation. Sand casting of six blade impeller using A356 alloy was performed and empirical models for all the above response measures were formulated. Confirmatory tests and analysis of variance results confirmed the accuracy of the model. Binder ratio was found to be the most significant parameter affecting casting surface defects and surface roughness. This was followed by pouring height and in-gate length.

The paper represents the analysis of the impact on the exhibition and trade fair activity of the Russian Federation during crisis situations caused by external factors. The author examined the major anticrisis measures, industry statistics and the main trends in the postcrisis phase. The fundamental role of the exhibition industry as a tool is caused by stimulation of economic sectors recovery from the crisis due to the multiplier effect. The particular relevance of the article is justified by a comprehensive study of the state of the industry during the current crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The author provides an overview of main government support measures for the industry and explains factors that have reduced some of these measures. Also, the author examined in detail activities of non-governmental organizations and associations of the exhibition industry in lobbying for the provision of state support and educational and legal assistance to Russian exhibition companies. Thus, the importance of coordinating activities of all participants in the exhibition industry and, in particular, further consolidation of interaction at the level of industry associations, becomes apparent. Besides, the author suggests a number of measures, such as highlighting exhibitions, trade fairs and congresses from the list of mass events following the example of Germany, introducing insurability for exhibition organizers in case of postponement or cancellation of events due to emergency circumstances, standardizing public health and hygiene rules. Their practical application should mitigate the way out of the current situation.

Abstract A cluster of 18 scarlet fever cases and large illness absenteeism (32%, 58/184) in a school prompted concern and further investigation. We conducted telephone interviews with parents to ascertain cases and better comprehend parents' views. We identified 19 cases, of which 13 reported scarlet fever diagnosis by a physician and only seven fulfilled the probable case definition. We concluded that the outbreak was far smaller than suspected and found that communication and reporting could be improved. Accurate information and communication is essential in an outbreak; the school's concern could have been alleviated sooner and response measures better targeted.

The caudal brain stem integrates short-term feedback signals from the oral cavity and the food-handling abdominal viscera, as well as long-term homeostatic, cognitive, and emotional signals from the forebrain, to control ingestive behavior. Glutamate, acting on various receptor subtypes, plays a prominent role in this integrative process. Fourth ventricular injection of the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionate (AMPA)/kainate receptor blocker 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-nitro-2,3-dioxobenzo[ f]quinoxaline-7-sulfonamide (NBQX, 0.5–5 nmol/3 μl) dose dependently suppressed intake of 15% sucrose in food-deprived and non-food-deprived rats compared with saline injection. Two consecutive paired NBQX injections (5 nmol) into the fourth ventricle did not produce conditioned taste aversion to saccharin, but LiCl did. Intraburst lick rate and lick efficiency were not affected, but burst size and number and initial lick rate were significantly decreased by NBQX. Local injection of NBQX (2 nmol) into and near the nucleus tractus solitarius also suppressed sucrose intake. These results suggest a general role for non- N-methyl-d-aspartate receptors in the transmission of positive (feedforward) signals, but do not identify the exact processing step involved, such as taste input, sensory-motor processing, or descending facilitation. More localized injections and response measures will be necessary.

Determining the duration and timing of spermatogenesis in Mytilus californianus Conrad became key questions in our study of carcinogen-mutagen indices in the marine environment. We had postulated that the murine sperm deformation assay of Bruce, Furrer & Wyrobek (1974) should have marine analogues, and we assayed a number of marine invertebrates sampled near potentially carcinogenic waste flows, and by γ-ray dose-response experiments. Our field results demonstrated some deformation but only at a very low level (less than 5 % in Mytilus edulis L.). Development of a γ-ray doseresponse (90–900 rads) procedure for M. californianus by radium needle inserted through a drilled hole closed with a plastic plug, and subsequent biopsy of gonadal tissue at measured distances from the site of irradiation, did not show deformations from a pilot test in June 1979. If a viable dose-response procedure was to be developed it was necessary to establish seasonal reproductive timing so that specimens could be collected or cultured to maximize spermatogenesis and hence response potential, and also to establish the duration of spermatogenesis so that response measures via a gonadal tissue extraction could be appropriately timed.

From the perspective of the development of machine translation, comparative analysis of the characteristics of human translation machine translation strengths and weaknesses, and we make relevant response measures and selection criteria translation approach. The specific translation system is analyzed from the perspective of textual and the Collaborative Translation shortcomings, as well as interpretation of collaborative translation features, functions and its impact on the meaning and sentence meaning.
