The percentage of malnutrition and stunting are still a major problem in east Nusa Tenggara Indonesia. Therefore we need a way to overcome these nutritional problems, among others, with the Positive Deviance Approach. This method is an act of community empowerment by transferring positive behaviour in mothers with malnutrition children. The research objective is Identify the effect of a positive deviance approach on mothers who have malnourished children. Subject and Method: this research is pre-experimental with one group pre-post test design. Data collection on 31 mothers who have malnutrition children. Result: after the intervention the mother's knowledge increases regarding feeding, child care and environmental health. After intervention maternal behavior increased regarding feeding, child care and environmental health. Statistical analysis shows that there is a significant influence between a positive deviance approach to experience with mothers' knowledge (p=0,03) and behavior (p=0,04) about feeding, caring for children and environmental health. Conclusion: The Positive Deviance approach gives an effect on increasing the knowledge and behavior of mothers in feeding, child care and environmental health. Recommendation: Use the Positive deviance method for changing people's behavior.

The method of selecting the sample of this study is by using slovin method. The data analysis using regression analysis. The results of the study showed that the pattern of Islamic Consumption has a positive effect on Academic Achievement, it proved by a significance value of 0.0045 0.05 which means the hypothesis in this study rejected H0 and received Ha. Objectives: This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of the educational program on child care knowledge and behaviors of mothers of children aged under five years. Materials and Methods: The quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest design was used to examine the effects of educational program on child care knowledge and behaviors of mothers of children under five years old with pneumonia. Fifty mothers of children under five years hospitalized with pneumonia were purposively assigned following standard procedure into either experimental or control group. Mothers of the study group received educational program together with children’s routine care, where as control group mothers just attended their children receiving treatment. Subsequently mothers’ knowledge, evaluated through structured Knowledge Questionnaire and behavioral information, through Behavioral Checklist Form were evaluated. Data were expressed as number (percent) and mean (SD) as appropriate. Demographic characteristics were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Independent t-test and paired t-test were used to calculate statistical difference between groups as applicable. Results: Findings revealed that, subjects of both groups are homogenous in terms of demographic characteristics, but significant difference was observed regarding their mean (±SD) knowledge (25.04±5.81 vs 34.64±3.86, p<0 .001) and behavior score (6.64±2.23 vs 17.68±1.89; p<0.001) between control and study group respectively. Conclusions: It was concluded that educational program supported that nurses need to involve themselves through helpful method of the educational program to teach the mothers' knowledge about pneumonia and their behavior during caring their sick children. Such program could effectively increase both knowledge and behavior of mothers of children under five with pneumonia. Key words: Pneumonia; knowledge and behavior; education program. A meta-analysis of 58 studies was performed in which IQ, academic achievement, and behavior characteristics were examined across students with learning disabilities (LD), mild intellectual disabilities (MID), and emotional/behavioral disabilities (E/BD). The effect sizes between students with LD and MID were the largest in the domains of IQ and academic achievement, and the differences involving pupils with E/BD versus those with LD and MID were largest in the behavior realm. Very little disparity was found when comparing (a) those with LD and students with E/BD on IQ measures, and (b) pupils with LD and those with MID in behavior. Implications for cross-categorical and noncategorical special education are discussed.
