Those who use convex or concave lenses should use sunglasses made from regular spectacle lenses. In this case, it uses a surface coating to block UV rays, so it is relatively vulnerable to UV protection. To this end, we developed a spectacle lens that can completely block ultraviolet light and suppress blue light by using a monomer that completely blocks the area below 410 nm and has a sunglasses function through photochromic function. A spectacle lens with photochromic, polarization and UV blocking functions was developed using a monomer with a high refractive index of 1.67. In the photochromic property, a recovery time of 2 minutes for light reaction and 5 minutes for dark reaction was obtained. Five layers of anti-reflection coating were applied to the surface of the lens to reduce the transmittance in the visible light region to 0.1 or less. ITO was applied to give an electromagnetic wave shielding function, and the thickness and conductivity of ITO were proportional to the result. The blue light emitted from the LED is reduced by more than 30% to reduce eye fatigue. UV rays were completely blocked below 410 nm. In this study, flame retardant microcapsules were synthesized using magnesium hydroxide as core materials, melamine resin as the shell material. The structure, diameters and thermal properties of prepared microcapsules were investigated by using FTIR, ELS, DSC and TGA. The effects of core/shell ratio on the properties of microcapsules were studied.Flame retardant materials of low-density polyethylene/magnesium hydroxide microcapsules were prepared. The tensile strength and elongation at break tests were performed to determine its mechanical property.Inflammability of the materials was also studied. The results showed the prepared magnesium hydroxide microcapsule shows good thermal stability and it has free compatibility with the polymer. The composites of HDPE/MH microcapsules have good performance.

A novel intumescent flame retardant (IFR) containing ferrocene and caged bicyclic phosphate groups, 1-oxo-4-[4'-(ferrocene carboxylic acid phenyl ester)] amide-2, 6, 7-trioxa-1-phosphabicyclo- [2.2.2] octane (PFAM), was successfully synthesized. The synthesized PFAM were added to flammable polyurethane (PU) as flame retardants and smoke suppressants. The structure of PFAM was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and elemental analysis. Thermal stability of PFAM was tested by themogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results revealed that PFAM had good thermal stability and high char weight, the char weight up to 54% at 600 °C. Flammability properties of PU/PFAM composites were investigated by limiting oxygen index (LOI) test and UL-94 test, respectively. The results of LOI tests showed that the addition of PFAM enhanced flame retardancy of PU. When the content of PFAM reaches to 3%, the LOI value is 22.2. The morphologies of the char for PU and PU/3% PFAM composite can be obtained after LOI testing were examined by SEM. The results demonstrated that PFAM could promote to form the compact and dense intumescent char layer. Experiments showed that, the PFAM application of polyurethane showed positive effect.

Some results of tests of the thermal stability (and volatility) of selected ionic liquids pondered as lubricating substances in comparison with typical lubricating, mineral and synthetic oils, are presented in the article. The research was carried out within the framework of PBR/15–249/2007/WAT–OR00002904 Research Project Financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, during 2007–2011 [1]. The obtained results confirmed high thermal resistance of ionic liquids. It makes it possible to use the liquids as high temperature lubricating substances. At the same time, it has been stated that the thermal resistance of ionic liquids depends on the composition and chemical structure of anion and cation.
