Materials used in the design of chemical machinery are an indispensable part of industrial production, and chemical machinery materials are also the main basis of chemical production.Chemical mechanical properties can directly determine the quality of products in chemical production, and their materials also determine the quality of chemical mechanical properties. Selecting corresponding materials has become the core of chemical mechanical design. Therefore, in the design of chemical machinery, there is a special value for the selection of materials used in manufacturing.

Sclerocarya birrea(A. Rich.) Hochst. is a multipurpose fruit tree which is very useful in providing food security and meeting nutritional and economic needs. This study was conducted to assess eighteen provenances ofSclerocarya birreaplanted in Mangochi, Malawi. The trial was assessed for fruit traits at fifteen years of age. There were significant (P<0.001) variations among the provenances in number of fruits, fruit weight, pulp weight, seed weight, fruit length, and diameter. Magunde provenance from Mozambique had the highest mean number of fruits, 2196 ± 200. Mangochi and Moamba provenances from Malawi and Mozambique were the most outstanding in the other parameters measured attaining the mean fruit weight of 20.89 ± 0.25 g and 25.67 ± 0.67 g, pulp weight of 25.70 ± 0.08 g and 21.55 ± 0.83 g, seed weight of 4.81 ± 0.35 g and 4.12 ± 0.18 g, fruit length of 2.61 ± 0.14 cm and 2.33 ± 0.07 cm, and fruit diameter of 2.33 ± 0.15 cm and 1.97 ± 0.08 cm, respectively. There was no significant (P>0.05) correlation between number of fruits and the other fruit traits. However, there were significant (P<0.05) and strong positive relationships between fruit weight and pulp weight (r=0.987) and fruit length and diameter (r=0.775). This suggests that fruit weight can be used indirectly for selection of pulp. Further studies should investigate fruit taste quality of products from the fruits.

This article briefly describes basic elements of machines for ultrasonic welding of plastics and the main materials used for manufacturing elements of ultrasonic waveguide oscillatory systems. A relationship between the amplitude of fluctuations of the welded material and a ratio of wave resistance of the product material and the waveguide tool geometry is examined. It is shown that when welding plastic products of a large thickness, it is practical to use waveguides made from aluminum alloys with a working end face with a diameter of 15 mm. It is established that the closer the acoustic characteristics of the waveguide material and the plastic are, the fuller the transfer of ultrasonic energy is when transiting through the interface of the welded polymeric materials. To assess the distribution of amplitudes of fluctuations in the welded material it is more convenient to use a transmission ratio, which decreases with a decrease in the wave resistance. It is established that the sizes of the working end face of the waveguide are most often defined by the properties, dimensions and geometry of the welded product. The application of the developed recommendations to the choice of material and sizes of the working end face of the waveguide can increase technological reliability of the ultrasonic welding process and improve quality of products.

Abstract With the method which has been described, it is possible to obtain reproducible results easily. It is hoped that the method will make it easier to study the properties of rubber mixtures prepared from latex. Furthermore the quantity of a latex mixture needed for such a test is small, i.e., of the order of 400 cc., so the method is particularly well adapted to the selection of Hevea trees on a basis of the quality of their latex. As a matter of fact, it will be easy in many cases to follow the collection of latex from a limited number of trees. It should even be possible, by using a single dipping form and reducing the size of the dipping tank, to follow the quality of the latex from the daily production of one tree, a procedure which is impossible with coagulated rubber.

The article considers the possibility of applying the prioritization method to facilitate the choice between materials with equivalent or similar characteristics when carrying out major repairs in apartment buildings. The currently existing problems of the major repairs of MKD in St. Petersburg are analyzed. A scale of criteria for the selection of materials is given and a methodology for the selection of building materials for the overhaul of apartment buildings is proposed.

Composite materials have the great potential and widely used as building material in numerous applications. Polymer composite material obtains the necessary properties in a controlled significant degree by the selection of strands and lattice. The properties of the materials have been selected by choosing the correct proportion of matrix and reinforcements. To build the quality of the material by expanding the fiber substance of the material. In this current examination, the mechanical properties of the glass fiber and graphite is strengthened with epoxy polymer composite were considered. Here the open embellishment method was received for the manufacture of the polymer composite The mechanical properties, for example, rigidity, compression quality, sway quality and water ingestion test was resolved according to the ASTM norms. The mechanical properties were improved as the filaments support content expanded in the grid material.

Tungsten containing particles as functional additives have high potential for the reinforcement of different materials, such as polymer-based resins. The thermal and mechanical properties of polymer composites with additions of tungsten oxide were investigated. Incorporation of 1% WO3 nanoparticles increases the Young‘s modulus. An increase in the stability of the materials at elevated temperatures and an improvement in the mechanical properties of the resins are observed. Tungsten containing nanoparticles increase the quality of products for industrial applications.

The actual trend of civil engineering leads to quality improving of housing and to saving of all participated energies. Airtightness of buildings´ envelope constructions has an important job in the point of view of energy savings and energy economy. Undesirable air flow occurs through joints, cracks and leaks in building envelopes. It has a significant influence to final quality of an indoor environment and energy demands and needs of warmth for heating resulting from it. The paper presents results of chosen airtightness measurements made in family and apartment buildings in the Slovak Republic, the achieved level of airtightness by various construction systems and outer walls, as well as which impact for air changes has location and selection of materials used for airtightness layer in the construction of outer walls at pressure difference of 50 Pa (n50).

The paper deals with evaluation of selected mechanical properties of tensile test specimens which were made from AlSi12 material by Direct Selective Laser Melting (DSLM) technology. Specimens were built in three various set-ups such as different angles towards building platform and various types of supporting structures in order to prove the influence of these parameters to mechanical properties of resulting product. The specimens were also subjected to material tests to reveal its inner structure, quality of a grain and chemical composition of the material. As a conclusion, the selection of the most suitable supporting structure and alignment of a model towards building platform are discussed. Mechanical parameters evaluated from tensile tests such as Young’s modulus (E), 0.2% proof stress (Re0,2) and tensile strength (Rm) are compared with values typical for the selected material AlSi12.

As the railway lifespan is the main criterion for selection of the aggregate for ballast and for planning the maintenance of the railroad, it is important to define the relationship between the particle load resistant characteristics and a lifetime of ballast in structure. Assessment of the quality of the ballast aggregate particles under dynamic and static loading reflect both, the toughness and hardness, and these are identified with the Los Angeles Abrasion and Micro-Deval Abrasion values. The model formerly developed by Canadian Pacific Railroads was adapted to predict possible loads expressed in cumulated tonnes. Different ballast aggregate mixtures were tested in the laboratory including dolomite and granite. Calculated potential gross tonnage (expressed in Million Gross Tonnes) of the railway per lifetime for each different aggregate type presented. The outcome of this research is established classification system of railway ballast aggregate and defined Los Angeles Abrasion and Micro-Deval Abrasion values of aggregate dependently on required lifetime.
