<p>Currently, energy saving requires the development of simple and efficient street lighting control systems. In order to create such a control system, it is necessary to develop an original principle of its operation. They considered the advantages of electronic starting devices in street lighting control systems. They performed the analysis of the existing state of street lighting means, their shortcomings and solutions have been determined, and they developed the method of lighting device automatic control. They performed the assessment of the economic effect from loss reduction associated with reactive power and due to power reduction during deep night. They presented the example of economic effect achievement from the use of an electronic starting device with automatic power reduction.</p>

This paper considers issues related to increasing energy efficiency in electric drives of pilger rolling mills, presenting kinematics of such mills, provides justification for the general load chart, presents the detailed review of reference materials on technical energy saving solutions, and suggests a math model of an electric drive with a field regulated reluctance machine. The paper suggests key methods of saving energy in electric drives of pilger mills, namely: kinematic scheme improvement; main energy drainers and ways of energy loss reduction in electric drives with direct- and alternate-current motors, energy-saving electric drive control profiles. The article compares energy-saving resources in electric drives with various-type motors (direct-current motors, synchronous motors, and field regulated reluctance machine), clarifies the scheme of energy-saving resource implementation, provides the qualitative evaluation of electric drive control method efficiency. The accent is made on high energy efficiency of the proportionate control of armature and excitation circuits and across the range of torque in electric drives of abruptly-variable-load mills. The highest economic effect is reached in the electric drive with a field regulated reluctance machine – by means of implementing the energy-efficient electromechanical converter and applying energy-saving control profiles.

The essence of the organizational-economic mechanism formation at the enterprises and its treatment are investigated. It is determined, that at present the unified scientific approach to the treatment of the notion «economic mechanism» and «organizational-economic mechanism» is not available. Being based on the analyses of the literature devoted to the problem of investigation the essence of the organizational economic mechanism of energy-saving, the statement of the notion of the organizational-economic mechanism of energy-saving has been proposed. It includes the system of interconnected economic and organizational components affecting the power recourses consuming and their application in industry, the latest achievements being taken into account. The proposed organizational-economic mechanism will facilitate the reduction of energy dependence, the growth of the production output competitiveness and the effectiveness of the innovation technologies application at the enterprises. The energy-saving was considered to be the kind of the power-resources saving activity at the enterprises which results in the fuel-energy resources consuming decrease or replacing of one type of power resource by the other. The main tasks of the mechanism are presented. It is shown, that the organizational-economic mechanism of energy-saving at the enterprises combines organizational and economic measures affecting both economic and organizational factors of energy-saving for productions of the product unit. It results in raising activity efficiency. In order to obtain the project level of energy efficiency the economic stipulation and financial inducement are expected by the mechanism. It is found that essence of the organizational economic mechanism of energy-saving at the enterprises provides the effective application of economic, engineering and organizational measures of the energy- saving, which will ultimately affect the significant economic effect at the enterprise. The essence of the organizational and economic mechanism of energy saving ensures effective use of economic, technical and organizational measures for energy saving.

The work is devoted to energy saving during arc manual welding operations. Power sources for arc manual welding are rectifiers with slow or steeply falling current-voltage characteristics. The paper considers two ways of energy saving during arc welding operations. The first way is to increase the efficiency of welding by replacing the ballast rheostat with a special electronic device that regulates the welding current instead of the ballast rheostat. The second way is to increase the efficiency of the welding equipment by replacing a traditional one-bridge rectifier with the two-bridge economical rectifier. An approximate calculation of the annual economic effect from the replacement of a ballast rheostat by the electronic regulating device is given on the example of welding operations in a typical assembly shop.

The work is devoted to solving an urgent scientific problem - increasing the informativeness of methods for assessing the effectiveness of energy saving measures in the areas of heat supply and heat consumption. The pur-pose of the research was to create and implement a method for multicriteria evaluation of the effectiveness of en-ergy-saving measures for the thermal energy of buildings. The following indicators are used as criteria for as-sessing the effectiveness of the studied measures in this method: 1) energy effect - the absolute and relative value of the saved thermal energy; 2) environmental effect - the amount of fuel saved, reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and pollutants into the atmosphere; 3) economic effect - the cost of saved thermal energy and fuel. The prac-tical implementation of the created method was carried out on the basis of 2 full-scale objects: No. 1 - a 3-story fragment of the administrative building of Kharkov National University of Municipal Economy them. A.N. Beketo-va with a total heated area of 225 m2 and No. 2 - the building of the communal institution "Kharkov Palace of Children and Youth Creativity" with a total heated area of more than 13700 m2. For full-scale object No. 1, the effectiveness of using «smart home» technology to control the thermal conditions of the building’s premises using the HERZ Smart Comfort automated system has been evaluated. For full-scale object No. 2 was evaluated the ef-fectiveness of 2 energy-saving measures: controlling the thermal conditions of the building’s premises with the HERZ Smart Comfort system and using an alternative heat source - heliosystem, which consists of 180 solar collec-tors. The research results showed such properties of the proposed method for evaluating the effectiveness of ener-gy-saving measures, such as: high information content of the results, providing the possibility of multicriteria optimization of the parameters of heat supply systems and heat consumption of the research object, ability to im-prove by increasing the number of studied performance indicators. Purpose. To increase the energy and economic efficiency of heating coal mines with infrared heaters through energy saving measures, taking into account the dynamics of the discount rate. To achieve this goal, the task was to conduct an energy audit of the heating system of the mine during its reconstruction according to an improved method, taking into account the dynamics of the discount rate and measures that are not feasible at the same time. Methodology. When using infrared heating systems, local heating of the working area is provided. As a result, the necessary temperature conditions in the mines are maintained and there is a possibility of creating a local microclimate. A multifactorial experiment was performed and the research results were graphically and analytically described. Furthermore, the method of energy audit, taking into account the effect of complex interaction of factors and the dynamics of the degree of discount, is applied. Findings. According to the results of the experiment, a nomogram of the temperature regime of the irradiation area with an infrared heater was constructed, which was approximated by the analytical dependence. The optimal profit from the introduction of energy-saving technologies during operation is EUR 379.2 under the following conditions: replacement of the heating system from stationary to variable with automation; installation of a different number of infrared heaters NL-12R with power Q 1200 W each; application of the effect of complex interaction of factors. Originality. The conducted energy audit of the radiant heating system with the use of infrared heaters during the underground reconstruction showed that non-stationary heating is efficient because it saves energy and has the lowest payback period. Practical value. The expediency of using infrared heaters in variable mode in both energy and technical and economic aspects has been proved. These measures will provide comfortable conditions in the mine and have a significant economic effect.

The article analyses the results of implementation of the energy-service contracts in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). A review of the Russian energy service market has been completed. Real savings of energy carriers according to metering devices in public enterprises, indicating the effectiveness of the technologies used, have been achieved. The used energy-saving technologies and solutions that allow one to achieve economic effect are considered. It is established that the existing mechanism of energy service allows the renovation of buildings with high-quality engineering support and high thermal protection of the shell.

The subject of researches are the regularities of the effective operation of information, resource and energy saving technology for the gases utilization from coal mines and metallurgical industries. The aim of the work is to present the technical and economic aspects of the information resource and energy saving process for the gases utilization from coal deposits and mines. As the result, the information about a new method for increasing the accuracy of automated commercial metering of coal gas, supplied to the Ukrainian gas-transport system, was provided, the regularities, governing the energy efficiency of controlling of the air/gas ratio from the oxygen concentration in the flue gases of the boiler unit, and the criterion of energy-efficient management were established. The calculation of the expected annual economic effect from the implementation of the control station “DIYA”, using the presented developments, was given.
