Indonesia has made tourism as the leading sector in economy. This has prompted many regions to compete to develop their tourism potential, including Kota Serang - Banten by launching Kampung Wisata Pancer. Kampung Pancer is closely related to the history of the Karangantu Harbour area, which was an international port during the Banten Kingdom era. Not many studies have discussed about the development of sustainable tourism in the Banten region. This article aims to show the progress of tourism in Banten today. Its development has allowed tourism to stand on its own feet. This study is based on an overview of secondary sources and observations and personal interviews with several informants and tourism experts. The results of this study showed that the tourism development efforts in Kampung Wisata Pancer are not in accordance with the concept of sustainable tourism development. Keywords: Tourism Village, Community Based Tourism, Sustainable Tourism Development

This paper discusses an approach based on an integrated use of GIS and ANP for sustainable tourism planning of Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. ANP was utilized to evaluate the relative priorities for the sustainable tourism development of the highland based on chosen criteria and indicators (elements). Pair wise comparison technique was used in order to evaluate possible alternatives from different perspectives. Having derived the weights from the pairwise comparison method, unweighted supermatrix, weighted supermatrix and the limit supermatrix were then computed. The limit supermatrix was normalized to derive the priorities; the result was then transferred into GIS framework. Elements evaluated and ranked are represented by criterion maps. The criterion maps were evaluated by reclassifying the data layers, to represent different needs for the sustainable tourism development of the highland. Spatial models reflecting the views of experts involved were aggregated using the weighted sum method of GIS. Subsequently sustainable tourism development model was generated, which will ensure that future generations benefit from the natural endowments of Cameron Highlands.

Tourism planning is a complex process that includes the involvement of a number of factors during the process of decision-making. Taking into account that any rational planning of tourism should be in line with the principles of sustainable development, which means to preserve the physical and social-geographical attributes of a destination, but at the same time striking a balance with the interests of the local communities, private and public sectors, the use of geographic information systems (GIS) has become an imperative in the process. Tourism is an activity which depends on natural resources, but is also a phenomenon which can have a destructive effect on the natural geographic environment in case of an inadequate access to its planning and development. In addition, during the daily management and operations of tourist facilities, a large number of tourists are a big consumer of energy and water and at the same time produce a significant amount of solid waste, hazardous gases and waste water. These negative impacts of tourism can be prevented or reduced by the application of certain GIS technology in order to achieve sustainable tourism development. This papers main objective is to explore the potential of GIS application in a process of tourism planning and its sustainable development, for the purpose of long-term survival of the tourism destination.

Tourism has turned out to be one of the most affected areas of socioeconomic activity due to the spread of the pandemic. Restrictions on the movement of citizens practically brought down international tourism and caused serious damage to the national economies of those countries in which income from tourism activities made a significant contribution to the country's GDP. Efforts to create sustainable tourism systems have been destroyed, and the theory of sustainable tourism development itself needs to be updated. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that the tourism industry, which is experiencing the deepest decline in the history of tourism development, should receive new tools necessary for its restoration and further sustainable development. The study used monographic, statistical, comparative and other methods of scientific research, which made it possible to identify and formulate the author's proposals to expand the concept of sustainable tourism development. It is quite obvious that after the pandemic, world tourism will recover, but this will be a period of tourism development completely different from the previous stages. In the course of the research, the features of tourism development in the context of the socalled new reality were investigated. It is shown that the safety of tourism in terms of compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards has become one of the important parameters in assessing the competitiveness of tourist destinations. As a result of the study, a proposal was formulated and substantiated that the concept of sustainable tourism development, in addition to economic, environmental and social components, must be supplemented with an information and communication component, as the most important attribute of the global digitalization of society.

The continuous search for responsible and sustainable practices in the tourism industry paves the way for alternative approaches to tourism development. Tourists need a quality product, local communities need jobs, and business needs profit. To achieve these goals, as well as preserve the results for future generations, it is necessary to consider economic, social, environmental and ethical factors in a tourism planning. All these tasks can be met within the sustainable tourism development concept. The purpose of this study is to address a gap in knowledge by conceptualizing sustainable tourism development as a more holistic economic strategy. Using social capital as a theoretical lens, this paper explores the ways which facilitate sustainable tourism planning. The basic research approaches of social capital in tourism are described with respect to their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the specifics of use for the Russian tourism industry. The future research directions were suggested at the conclusion.
