For an establishment of a skill evaluation method for human support systems, development of an estimating equation of the machine operational skill is presented. Factors of the eye movement such as frequency, velocity, and moving distance of saccade were computed using the developed eye gaze measurement system, and the eye movement features were determined from these factors. The estimating equation was derived through an outlier test (to eliminate nonstandard data) and a principal component analysis (to find dominant components). Using a cooperative carrying task (cc-task) simulator, the eye movement and operational data of the machine operators were recorded, and effectiveness of the derived estimating equation was investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that the estimating equation was effective strongly against actual simple skill levels (r=0.56–0.84). In addition, effects of internal condition such as fatigue and stress on the estimating equation were analyzed. Using heart rate (HR) and coefficient of variation of R-R interval (Cvrri). Correlation analysis between these biosignal indexes and the estimating equation of operational skill found that the equation reflected effects of stress and fatigue, although the equation could estimate the skill level adequately.

Ceramic product shape evaluation is an important part of product development, an important method to optimize product shape design, and is of great significance to reasonably locate users’ consumption psychology and promote the development of ceramic product industry. In this paper, we propose an eye-tracking-based evaluation method for ceramic products from the user’s point of view, in view of the fact that there are few studies on ceramic product shape evaluation, and it is mainly led by designers and enterprise leaders subjectively, with low user participation and lack of objective evaluation means and objective data support. In this paper, through the implementation of eye-movement experiments, we obtain and analyze the eye-movement data related to the semantic perception evaluation of product modeling and the overall evaluation of modeling, establish the mapping relationship between user evaluation and eye-movement data, and provide objective data support for modeling evaluation. This paper provides an objective data support for the styling evaluation. This paper provides new ideas for the ceramic product modeling evaluation method, which helps to promote the development of ceramic product industry, improve the brand recognition of enterprises, and help the marketing personnel to make reasonable marketing planning plans. For the semantic perceptual evaluation of ceramic product styling based on eye-tracking, the effectiveness of product styling design concept communication is evaluated. Ceramic products are constantly changing and developing, with new shapes appearing and old shapes being eliminated. Continual innovation and development of ceramics based on inherited traditions can give them a new look and color under the existing modeling style. Compared with other categories, although ceramic modeling has relatively abstract formal characteristics, but it is the extension of the modeling, still has obvious morphological characteristics, and the impact on people’s aesthetic mood.

Evaluation of the computer interface is traditionally conducted via checklists, task scenarios, walkthroughs, heuristics and other subjective techniques. Analysis of user's eye movements during user interaction can add more objectivity to these evaluations. The objective of this study was to determine if eye movement behavior is influenced by interface design quality in a manner that can be characterized and used to identify design weaknesses. Eye movement scanpaths were collected from 12 subjects interacting with 4 interfaces utilizing different component grouping strategies. Interface quality ranged from “excellent” to “unacceptable”, as assessed by 50 typical users and 30 interface designers. A series of quantifiable measures were developed to characterize the resulting scanpaths. These measures examined raw scanpath data, fixations and saccades, and their interaction on both a temporal and spatial basis. The measures proved to be good indicators of interface quality. The “good” grouping strategy resulted in few fixations (minimal processing) and relatively efficient scanpath behavior (minimal search). The “poor” grouping strategies produced scattered scanpaths covering a larger portion of the interface area (extensive search) and requiring a higher number of fixations (more processing). The applicability of eye movement analysis as a quantitative interface evaluation method was further discussed.

In order to evaluate pilot performance objectively, back propagation (BP) neural network model of 621423 form in topology with eye movement data was established. Data source of BP neural networks that came from former experiment and random interpolation was divided into training set and test set and normalized. Based on neural networks toolbox in Matlab, hidden layer nodes of BP networks were determined with empirical formula and experimental comparison ; BP algorithms in the toolbox were optimized; The training set data and test data were input into model for training and simulation; Pilot performance of the three skill levels was predicated and evaluated. The research shows that pilot performance can be accurately evaluated by setting up BP neural networks model with eye movement data and the evaluation method can provide a reference for flight training.

In tourism promotion, tourist destination visual attraction becomes a weapon to attract attention for tourism influencers through their social media. But visual ethical problem appears when photograph has been edited or manipulated by them. Thus, “what does visual communication ethic from influencer in tourism promotion like?”. This research based on concepts of utilitarian ethics, visual communication ethics, and tourism visual communication. For its methodology, this research uses positivistic paradigm, descriptive research, and utilitarian ethical evaluation method. Research findings obtained the quantification of harmful consequences and good consequences for tourism influencers photograph manipulation, and two alternative acts for tourism influencers visual communication ethics.

Evaluation of the resolution of the Imaging Plate (IP) has been attempted by some methods. An evaluation method for IP resolution, which is not influenced by hard X-rays at higher accelerating voltages, was proposed previously by the present authors. This method, however, requires truoblesome experimental preperations partly because specially synthesized hematite was used as a specimen, and partly because a special shape of the specimen was used as a standard image. In this paper, a convenient evaluation method which is not infuenced by the specimen shape and image direction, is newly proposed. In this method, phase contrast images of thin amorphous film are used.Several diffraction rings are obtained by the Fourier transformation of a phase contrast image of thin amorphous film, taken at a large under focus. The rings show the spatial-frequency spectrum corresponding to the phase contrast transfer function (PCTF). The envelope function is obtained by connecting the peak intensities of the rings. The evelope function is offten used for evaluation of the instrument, because the function shows the performance of the electron microscope (EM).
