ABSTRACT Objectives: to validate a care protocol for the monitoring and prevention of arteriovenous fistula complications. Methods: a validation methodological study with a quantitative approach, developed in a university hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Results: scientific evidence was gathered from 20 researches. A care protocol was developed, composed of 15 items and divided into 3 sessions. The protocol was validated by a group of 11 experts, obtaining a content validity index of 0.95. Conclusions: the protocol proposes nursing care capable of preventing and monitoring arteriovenous fistula complications, punctured with a traditional technique, taking into account the actions implemented from patients’ entry into the machine until the end of therapy.

A radioterapia é uma das modalidades de tratamento oncológico e pode ser usada como tratamento principal e em conjunto com outras modalidades terapêuticas. Por esse motivo, acarreta diversas compilações/efeitos adversos. Este trabalho objetivou a construção de um folder, para os usuários (pacientes e acompanhantes) que utilizam o serviço de radioterapia de um hospital referência em oncologia na cidade de Fortaleza, Ceará. Para construção do folder, foi realizado um estudo metodológico, do tipo desenvolvimento de tecnologia, obedecendo 3 etapas: sistematização do conteúdo, escolha das ilustrações, composição do conteúdo. Como resultado, foi desenvolvido o folder intitulado “Guia de Orientações para Pacientes e Acompanhantes: radioterapia SUS”. O trabalho de conscientização e educação em saúde através do uso de tecnologias em saúde como o folder, possibilita o aumento do conhecimento dos pacientes, tornando-os capazes de refletir, gerando mudanças de percepções e atitudes diferentes nos cuidados com a saúde.Descritores: Enfermagem Oncológica, Radioterapia, Oncologia, Educação em Saúde. Construction of educational material for patients and companions of a radiotherapy serviceAbstract: Radiotherapy is one of the cancer treatment modalities and can be used as the main treatment and in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities. For this reason, it causes several compilations/adverse effects. This work aimed to build a folder for users (patients and companions) who use the radiotherapy service of a reference hospital in oncology in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará. Para la construcción de la carpeta se realizó un estudio metodológico, del tipo de desarrollo tecnológico, siguiendo 3 etapas: sistematización del contenido, elección de ilustraciones, composición del contenido. Como resultado, se desarrolló la carpeta titulada “Guía de Orientaciones para Pacientes y Acompañantes: radioterapia SUS”. La labor de sensibilización y educación en salud a través del uso de tecnologías de la salud como la carpeta, permite incrementar el conocimiento de los pacientes, haciéndolos capaces de reflexionar, generando cambios en las percepciones y diferentes actitudes en el cuidado de la salud.Descriptores: Enfermería Oncológica, Radioterapia, Oncología, Educación para la Salud.

Objetivo: validar tecnologia educacional sobre fototerapia para orientar familiares de neonatos ictéricos. Método: estudo de desenvolvimento metodológico, realizado em 2012, com nove juízes especialistas, 11 enfermeiros assistenciais e 11 familiares, mediante aplicação de questionários submetidos à análise estatística. Foi realizado em uma maternidade pública estadual no município de Manaus, Brasil. Resultados: a tecnologia a ser validada foi do tipo álbum seriado, com dupla face, intitulado A luz que cura, a mão que cuida. O Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC) foi de 79,7%. O Índice de Concordância (IC) na validação de aparência foi de 96,1% entre enfermeiros e 97,2% entre familiares. Conclusão:a tecnologia educacional mostrou-se válida quanto ao conteúdo e aparência, com potencial para orientar familiares de neonatos ictéricos por enfermeiros que atuam na área neonatal e maternidade.ABSTRACTObjective: to validate an educational technology on phototherapy designed to guide family members of icteric neonates. El Índice de Concordancia en la validación de apariencia fue del 96,1% entre enfermeros y el 97,2% entre familiares. Conclusión: la tecnología educativa se mostró válida en cuanto al contenido y apariencia, con potencial para orientar a familiares de neonatos ictéricos por enfermeros que actúan en el área neonatal y maternidad.

The Court of Appeals of New York held, in Council of the City of New York u. Giuliani, slip op. 02634, 1999 WL 179257 (N.Y. Mar. 30, 1999), that New York City may not privatize a public city hospital without state statutory authorization. The court found invalid a sublease of a municipal hospital operated by a public benefit corporation to a private, for-profit entity. The court reasoned that the controlling statute prescribed the operation of a municipal hospital as a government function that must be fulfilled by the public benefit corporation as long as it exists, and nothing short of legislative action could put an end to the corporation's existence.In 1969, the New York State legislature enacted the Health and Hospitals Corporation Act (HHCA), establishing the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) as an attempt to improve the New York City public health system. Thirty years later, on a renewed perception that the public health system was once again lacking, the city administration approved a sublease of Coney Island Hospital from HHC to PHS New York, Inc. (PHS), a private, for-profit entity.
