This chapter analyzes the role of ICTs in a sustainable governance model as fundamental tools to manage the integrated system “Environment, Agriculture and Health”. Food production can determine a negative impact on the environment that then reverberates on the human health: intensive agricultural practices and farming are the principals responsible of the global emissions of greenhouses gases that, causing climate change, can impact human health. The study produced a survey with the purpose of appraising firms’ propensity to use ICTs tools in order to enhance their strategies on climate change and environmental pollution and to work, through sustainable communication, towards an integrated system.

Human health is one of the most important issues for every period of society’s development. After all, the state of development of any country is determined by the level of health and literacy of the population living in the region. The article highlights the ecological situation, the role of knowledge and spirituality in strengthening the health of the population in Uzbekistan, the achievements of medicine, ecology, socio-demographic development in the country during the years of independence data on the reduction of infant and maternal mortality in the age group of the population are also presented. It is known that in more than a quarter of a century (1991-2019), the total mortality rate in the country's population decreased by 1.2% or decreased from 6.2 per thousand to 4.9 per thousand. However, there are still areas with high mortality rates (in Tashkent, Tashkent, and Andijan regions), which can be explained by their location at the transport hub and industrialization. The study and analysis of their regional aspects are some of the important aspects of geographical research. The article also focuses on the issues related to climate change and their impact on the nosoecological situation.

Climate change is a politically-polarised issue, with conservatives less likely than liberals to perceive it as human-caused and consequential. Furthermore, they are less likely to support mitigation and adaptation policies needed to reduce its impacts. This study aimed to examine whether John Oliver’s “A Mathematically Representative Climate Change Debate” clip on his program Last Week Tonight polarised or depolarised a politically-diverse audience on climate policy support and behavioural intentions. One hundred and fifty-nine participants, recruited via Amazon MTurk (94 female, 64 male, one gender unspecified, Mage = 51.07, SDage = 16.35), were presented with either John Oliver’s climate change consensus clip, or a humorous video unrelated to climate change. Although the climate change consensus clip did not reduce polarisation (or increase it) relative to a control on mitigation policy support, it resulted in hyperpolarisation on support for adaptation policies and increased climate action intentions among liberals but not conservatives.

Nutraceuticals have been around for quite some time. As the nomenclature suggests, they are placed somewhere between food (nutra-) and medicine (-ceuticals) in terms of their impact on human health. Researches have focused on the impact of various types of nutraceuticals on health, their efficacy in health promotion and disease prevention, and often on suitable uses of certain categories of nutraceuticals for specific health issues. However, we are still far from utilizing the immense potential of nutraceuticals for benefiting human health in a substantial manner. We review the available scholarly literature regarding the role of nutraceuticals in health promotion, their efficacy in disease prevention and the perception of nutraceuticals' health benefits by consumers. Thereafter we analyze the need for regulation of nutraceuticals and various provisions regarding the same.
