Abstract This work compares heating and electricity demands with local renewable energy potentials at the example of Ludwigsburg county, a mostly suburban region in South-Western Germany. Bottom-up analyses of the energetic potentials are performed within an established regional energy simulation platform and are thus based on a consistent set of geoinformatic data. This approach has two advantages compared to a top-down analysis or using multiple specialized tools: it allows assessing energetic potentials in high spatial resolution and relates it to heating and electricity demands on a single-building scale. Secondly, it is transferable to other regions due to the widespread availability of most input data. Our results show that exploiting technical potentials for bioenergy, rooftop PV, wind onshore, and hydropower can cover 68% of electricity demand 7% of heat demand in 2019, indicating that energy autonomy is difficult to achieve for densely populated regions in Europe.

Aim of the research is to analyze regional gaps in terms of renewable energy generation across Poland. For this purpose, four types of regions were outlined based on two indicators: the existing renewable energy generation capacity and the current regional energy demand revealed through the number of residents. This classification allowed to reveal regions in Poland that have distinct features of energy gaps and peripherality, while also more successful regions with renewable energy surpluses and distinct sustainable energy potential. For each of the region type key potential systemic problems in terms of renewable energy generation development were given. To understand how peripheral regions and regions with energy gaps could be supported in their development of renewable energy generation the regional innovation systems, social networks, knowledge and technology transfer and diffusion were substantiated. Results of the research can serve as an aid in development of national and regional energy policies, helping to understand peculiarities of local renewable energy generation and the influence of enabling environment peculiar to the specific region, including the regional innovation systems and intensity of knowledge transfer and diffusion.

The problem of unbalanced energy development in China still exists. How to adjust the energy structure is the key to high-quality economic development in China. This paper analyses the impact of regional energy development levels on high-quality economic development in China from 2016 to 2017, with the global ML methodology and structural equation model. Firstly, from two aspects of environmental and technological factors, the Global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) production function is used to measure the environmental endowment index of regional energy development in China. Secondly, the evaluation system of China’s energy development is established. The structural equation model is used to measure and evaluate the degree of China’s regional energy development. Combined with the environmental endowment index of regional energy development, the gap between the proportion of regional renewable energy and the optimal energy structure is analyzed. Thirdly, this paper explores the supporting effect of different energy development levels on high-quality economic development. It is concluded that the environmental endowment index of energy development varies among different regions in China, most of which are still underdeveloped, but a few of which have redundant technical elements of renewable energy development. China’s regional energy development model is still dominated by fossil fuel energy, and the proportion of renewable energy driving economic growth is relatively low. Renewable energy can effectively replace the use of fossil fuel energy and have a higher impact on high-quality economic development. Finally, on the basis of the above study, the paper puts forward policy suggestions for Chinese governments to adjust energy structure and promote high-quality economic development.

In the article presented, the authors prove the objective need for the development of the electricity industry of the Republic of Crimea on the basis of the active use of the renewable energy sources, caused by the world processes of the formation of the “green” economy. The object of the study is the territory of the Republic of Crimea - a bright representative of the energy deficit region. The development of the electricity industry of the Republic of Crimea on the basis of the use of the renewable energy sources serves as the basis for ensuring regional energy security, the fragility of which was determined by the political events of 2015. The authors studied the research papers of leading domestic and foreign scientists devoted to the analysis of the renewable energy sources in order to justify the further active development of a wind energy, a solar energy as well as bioenergy and landfill gas energy in the Republic of Crimea. The development of the Republic of Crimea’s electricity industry through the use of the renewable energy sources and local fuels is an essential area of modern active regional policy. It is determined by the fact that this direction, firstly, is considered as environmentally friendly generation, and secondly, contributes to a qualitative increase in regional energy security level.

A demand clean and renewable energy through the use of submerged turbines. Using this new source of energy we can grow the production of electrical energy in a sustainable way. This paper presents the simulation of maritime currents using a wind tunnel which allows the comparison of speed variations of water compared to air. It also features a brake system that uses a magnetic sensor in real time using the wavelets. As an example, it can be the ones mentioned concerning the feedback control system applied in a brand WEG motor of 100 hp with 2 poles 3500rpm rotation. Using software tools, the Acquired data are post-processed.

Renewable energy sources are now essential to establish sustainable development. This paper examines one kind of source the geothermal energy. For geothermal energy when combined with a heat pump COP can be used for evaluation. For solely geothermal sources different approach is needed thus in the paper, a new geothermal heat production coefficient is used to examine the operational feasibility. For the assessment, many hypothetical buildings were created to model their heat demands. Two types of calculation methods are used for heat demand calculation. Based on the results, the maximum depth of a geothermal borehole and economically critical qualitative coefficient was concluded.

THE PURPOSE. To carry out an analysis of increasing the efficiency of energy development in the Chechen Republic. On the basis of the current structure of the power supply system of the Chechen Republic, provide indicators of the deficit of consumed electric power, as well as the generation of electricity in the republic. Consider the state of renewable energy sources in the republic and the prospects for the development of energy related to their implementation. METHODS. The analysis of the development of traditional energy, which is given close attention, is carried out, based on the experience of other subjects of Russia and foreign countries. The question of the application of the methodology for the effective development of regional energy is considered.RESULTS. A direction for the development of the energy sector of the Chechen Republic is proposed, which should inevitably be associated with thermal power plants using the most modern and efficient cycle today - steam-gas plants (CCGT), which is based on a gas turbine unit running on natural gas, being the only power plant that in the condensing mode of operation, it can supply electricity with an efficiency of more than 58%. The analysis of industrial power consumption of the largest operating and promising energy-intensive enterprises and facilities of the republic is carried out. CONCLUSION. The introduction of gas turbine plants in the centers of thermal and electrical loads helps to increase the economic efficiency of power plants. It is proposed to carry out fundamental and applied research in the field of renewable energy.
