AbstractThe Republic of Serbia must make significant efforts to promote and exploit renewable energy sources and increase energy efficiency in all energy sectors to ensure energy security and economic competitiveness, reduce the negative impact on the environment from energy production and use, and contribute to global efforts to reduce greenhouse gases. Within the paper several issues of integration of recently realized CHP plant are introduced and discussed. Firstly, the legal and energy policy issues in the Republic of Serbia regarding connecting CHP to the grid are presented. The challenges and technical solutions for CHP connection to the grid, as well as power quality issues and the role of the CHP plant during the restoration of power supply during the maintenance of the substation and unplanned loss of high voltage supply, are presented and discussed. Finally, the impact of prospective massive integration of CHP on the energy balance and CO2 emission reduction in the province of Vojvodina in Serbia is investigated and discussed. Since it is the first CHP plant realized in Serbia, it is crucial that experience be shared to all potential stakeholders in the future energy efficiency projects.

The progressive development of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is impossible without solving the issues of increasing energy efficiency and energy conservation. These issues are very relevant in the construction sector of Kazakhstan. Housing facilities, on average, consume 2-3 times more heat per square meter, than buildings in Europe. However, in Kazakhstan until now there is no methodology for determining the energy efficiency of buildings and structures that meets modern requirements. The methodology discussed in this article is harmonized with EU requirements and establishes a method for calculating the annual energy consumption of buildings for heating, hot water, ventilation and air conditioning, taking into account auxiliary energy for the operation of these systems, and is intended for use in the design of new construction, reconstruction (modernization) residential and public buildings, as well as operated buildings and structures.

Sustainable development, as a generally accepted concept of modern society, implies the protection of the environment as one of the basic goals. This goal is achieved, among other things, through the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. The improvement of energy efficiency and application of renewable energy sources should be incorporated while preserving the economic interests of the state. In order to harmonize these interests, the state must introduce the policy in the field of energy, which will simultaneously take care of both the environment and the economy. Among the most important instruments of such a policy are legal regulations. The Republic of Serbia has an extensive and thoroughly structured system of regulations in the field of energy efficiency. The mere existence of regulations in this area is not enough. It is only a necessary precondition for their consistent application, as well as control of the application by inspection bodies.

The article considers the features of development of territorial branding in the city of Kazan and in the Republic of Tatarstan. The stages of creation of brands of Kazan, Sviyazhsk and Bolgar, as well as the brands of the Republic of Tatarstan “Heritage of Tatarstan” and “Visit Tatarstan” are researched. The main components of the brand “Heritage of Tatarstan” have been identified and described. The paper shows, that in order to improve the efficiency of territorial branding, the new brand “Visit Tatarstan” was created in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2016. It is designed to complement and strengthen the brand “Heritage of Tatarstan”, which has already existed since 2014. The article reveals the most important tasks of the brand “Visit Tatarstan”, and defines the features of its visual style. The implementation of the project involves two directions - external and internal. The first is based on the advertising program, the second combines all the components of tourism: souvenirs, national attractions and travel agencies. The role of territorial branding in the development of various types of tourism in the Republic of Tatarstan is shown. Thus, the article concludes that the formation of modern territorial brands can give a big return in the form of creation of effective tourist destination in the region. Moreover, this positive experience in the near future can be successfully used not only in the Republic of Tatarstan, but also in other regions of the Russian Federation.

The constant growth of the world’s population has generated various changes in the use of the diversity of the resources provided to us by the planet. Considering that by properly managing energy in air conditioning systems correctly, it collaborates in the fight against climate change, reducing the excessive use of fossil fuels and, therefore, the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, creating an environment of comfort in industrial sectors, businesses, companies, homes, among others. The objective of this research is to validate the instrument considering the information obtained about smart devices applied in air conditioning systems and their improvement in energy efficiency. The methodology applied consisted of a field study conducted through an online survey that was directed at 226 students and professionals from three provinces of the Republic of Ecuador. To validate the data obtained in the instrument, the exploratory factor analysis was performed also of the principal components in the last phase it was obtained in factor transformation matrix (0.986), which demonstrates the validity of the study. To apply the KMO test and Bartlett’s sphericity, the following ranges (≥0.6) y (<0.05) were considered respectively.
