Introduction The cervical pessary is used in women with precocious cervical ripening to prevent preterm birth. Up to now however, there have been no systematic studies on compliance and tolerance, which vary among different study cohorts. Material and methods A questionnaire was administered to 166 women treated with the Arabin cervical pessary in one center. Data were analysed about the patient’s experience before insertion (adequacy of information received), during treatment (follow-up, impact on daily life, perceived discomfort, side effects) and at the time of removal (pain, if the patient’s expectations had been met regarding the treatment). Results Information received before the insertion of the Arabin cervical pessary was considered adequate in 163/166 (98.2%) women. An increase in vaginal discharge was experienced by 70/166 (42.2%) women. Discomfort or other side effects were reported in 13.8% and 16.3% of cases, respectively. Overall, 77% of women reported an improved quality of life and 94% considered the follow-up during pregnancy adequate. Removal was moderately painful for 58/166 (35%) of women. Patient’s expectations regarding the treatment were exceeded in the majority of cases (75.3%). In a final step, we compared our results to previous studies regarding the use of the pessary in singleton and twin pregnancies. Conclusion Although some trials report high rates of non-compliant patients, this could not be confirmed by our study. In contrast, most women reported having a positive experience and that they were motivated to continue the treatment when they were continuously followed by experienced clinicians.

Abstract Background: The use of patient initiated digital care visits has been increasing and even more so in the era of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Learning more about healthcare professionals’ experience of using such technology would provide valuable insight and a basis for improvement of digital visits.Aim: This study sought to explore the existing literature on healthcare professionals’ experience of performing digital care visits. Methods: A scoping review was performed following Arksey & O’Malley’s proposed framework and utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses – Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) checklist. Three large databases – PubMed, Web of Science and IEEE Xplore were searched, and 28 studies were included in the review. The collected data was analyzed using thematic content analysis. Results: Five main themes were identified in the literature: positive experiences/benefits, facilitators, negative experiences/challenges, barriers, and suggestions for improvement. Healthcare professionals mostly reported having overall positive experience with digital visits and saw benefits for themselves and the patients – efficiency, convenience, accessibility, and new perspectives in remote care to name a few. However, opinions were mixed or negative regarding the complexity of decision making, workload and workflow, suitability of this type of care and other challenges. The suggestions for improvement included training and education, improvements within system and tools and support for professionals. Conclusion: Despite overall positive experience and benefits for both professionals and patients, clinicians reported challenges and issues they faced when using digital care visits: physical barriers, technical issues, suitability concerns and others. Digital care visits could not fully replace face-to face visits.

The proportion of older adults is increasing in Denmark. At the same time physical activity is becoming an increasingly popular arena to prevent illness, promote health and increase life quality. This case study examined older adults’ (65-75 y) motives and barriers for participation in organised physical activity. Using a single embedded case study, we collected data through semi structured interviews and observation. The theoretical framework is Ryan & Deci’s Self-Determination Theory (SDT). Results of this study indicate that informants had several intrinsic and extrinsic motives. Among the extrinsic motives were better health, absence of illness, a good retirement and complying with social norms. A number of integrated and structural motives also exist: positive experience with sports, appropriate challenges, social interaction, diverse sports activities and freedom of choice. The older adults described barriers such as: difficult to self-initiate participation in sports, health related issues and lacking experiences with sports. Furthermore, the study discusses behaviour change triggers to stimulate healthy behaviour in old age using a revised FBM-model. In addition, organised physical activity that promotes satisfaction of the psychological needs is essential for the adherence. Based on the results and discussion, implications for practice are provided through recommendations on physical activity for older adults, based on organisation, activities and recruitment. Gamification provides a practical approach to improving learning processes, especially the learner's motivation. However, little research has been conducted on student intentions to use gamification in higher education. Therefore, this study explored the gamification in higher educational courses by collecting surveys and discusses the factors influencing the acceptance of gamification in higher education. Based on the PLS-SEM results, students should take initial game-based learning content to be more familiar with gamification; furthermore, they could have a positive experience so that they would increase their intention. Performance expectancy is the most important factors influencing a student to accept gamification. Other factors, such as effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, involvement, skill, and control, are also important factors. With the results of this study, the instructor designer could have substantial help in planning the course content and enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.

It's not easy being a mother and a father at the same time, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to look at the communication experience of single mothers during the Covid-19 pandemic, this research uses a phenomenological qualitative method approach. The results of the research are that during the Covid-19 pandemic, many parents have difficulty communicating in parenting where two parents also carry out the dual function of being parents as well as being teachers for the benefit of children who also carry out learning activities at home, single mothers experience negative experiences at the same time. positive experience when carrying out the function of being both a mother and a father at the same time. Negative experiences are felt when mothers have to work for a living and become teachers for children who do learning activities at home, mothers find it difficult to communicate with children asking for educational functions usually carried out by teachers at school. A positive experience was felt by mothers during the Covid-19 pandemic when they were able to share difficulties and children could understand the condition of mothers who had to carry out the role of a single mother. Low-intensive laser therapy was carried out on 550 women aged 18 to 33 with syndrome of polysystemic disorders at chronic genital inflammations.Efficiency of frequency movement (301 patients) and stable regime (249 patients) of endovaginal low-intensive laser therapy has been studied by means of complex clinical, functional, instrumental, and laboratory examinations. Movement regime of laser application proved to stimulate sexual visceral reactions improving the state of female organism in case of syndrome of polysystemic disorders. Normalization of the sexualfunction as a result of movement regime in endovaginal laser therapy can be considered as pathogenic influence directed on normalizing and supporting physiological nervous-reflex connections of genital organs with other organs and systems of womens organisms.

Paper deals with the possibilities to improve productivity of domestic academic research through partnership cooperation between actors of innovations ecosystems at national and regional levels. Cooperation between academic research and business plays important role in this context. Main attention is paid to public sector of academic research; all problems are illustrated for the case of Novosibirsk oblast. The opinions of representatives of research institutes of Siberian Branch of Russian science Academy as well as of innovative companies’ leaders were analyzed and reviewed. Main barriers for partnership cooperation were presented basing on this review. It is pointed out that lack of confidence within cooperation between ecosystem actors and therefore limited positive experience of cooperation present significant problem. State support as well as direct financing and adequate institutional environment creation should be aimed to the elimination of these barriers.

Research about restorative quality of landscape can help to mitigate possible negative effects of urban densification on people. Previous studies discussed the restorative experience on natural environments or urban open space. However, further research is needed on the application of restorative experience in specific scenarios, for example streetscapes. There are a few studies that have explored the relationship between restorative quality and the landscape characteristics on streets context. However, there is little research on the practice of these theories. This article delves into the study of its predecessors and summarizes the primary factors that influence the restorative ability of streets. Then, using these data in a case study, consider if streets that provide a positive experience for people have these restorative street qualities in common. In addition, this article investigates the potential street characteristics that influence street restorative value and identifies areas for development in these situations. The findings could lead to a more commonly applied method for creating a psychologically sustainable streetscape.
