One of the directions of development of enterprises of the timber processing complex today is their modernization, which includes a complete replacement of obsolete equipment for modern high-performance, automated analogues. Obviously, at the same time, the capacity of production, the volume of output, is substantially increased, which leads to an increase in production waste. To solve the problem of their rational use, we propose to introduce a technology for the production of biofuel (fuel pellets), based on the process of crushed waste products pressing. The proposed project includes construction of a workshop for production of pellets with a capacity of 50 thousand tons per year, their packaging and storage. The description of the technological process with the identification of a number of its stages is given, the economic justification of the investment project efficiency is fulfilled, the project implementation schedule is developed, the main performance indicators are calculated and the possible risks associated with the project implementation are identified. The presented calculations testify to sufficient financial strength of the project and its financial solvency. There are two options for using the produced products. The first is generally accepted, based on the export orientation of pellets and their supply to the ever growing European market. The second one is an alternative one, envisaging construction or modernization of obsolete boiler houses and their transfer to cheaper, biologically clean wood fuel. The proposed alternative approach is aimed at solving existing problems in the field of ecology and the energy industry. The use of pellets will significantly reduce the environmental impact caused by coal or fuel oil as a fuel, and can also solve the problem of providing lower-cost energy to remote enterprises and residential areas.

Implementation of business processes in Ukraine has become more structured in recent years. If previously the only goal was to get the most profitable investment and pay-off in the short term, and the attention to drawbacks and considerable riskiness of these projects was given already in case of their occurrence, now there is another management approach. Thus, the decision to attract additional funds involves a detailed analysis of the potential and existing risks of the project. The management focuses on continuous monitoring of the project implementation. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop an effective mechanism to evaluate an investment project, the effectiveness of its implementation, but from the perspective of the company’s economic security aimed at identifying and diversifying risks. As such, the accounting system of the enterprise’s economic safety management is presented as to the investment projects execution based on the convergence of budgeting, management, financial accounting and elements of the economic analysis and control. The proposed system of investment project management is based on the definition of responsibility centers during the investment project implementation. The developed plan of actions and methods is aimed at creating effective tools for identifying risk factors and monitoring the investment projects effectiveness. Such a system provides an opportunity to operate an investment project promptly and flexibly, following clearly defined management tasks within the chosen strategy of enterprise’s economic security. System management of investment project, which is a part of the overall business management, contributes to the achievement of goals set by the company at a given level of risks and financial performance.

The purpose of this work is to substantiate and develop methods of analysis, accounting and assessment of risks in investment and construction activities as a factor of successful implementation of the investment project. Improving the efficiency of the investment and construction project implementation can be ensured by the use of adequate methods for identifying, analyzing, evaluating, forecasting and preventing risks during the project implementation. The author developed a comprehensive methodology for risk analysis and assessment during the implementation of an investment and construction project taking into account the peculiarities of the industry in order to improve the risk management mechanism. The practical significance of the article lies in the possibility of using the developed integrated methodology for analyzing and assessing the risks of an investment and construction project as a mandatory condition for the safe functioning and development of investment and construction activities in the implementation of projects.
