23 Science and the International Regulation of Marine Pollution

This chapter considers the approaches taken by international regimes to address marine pollution. It begins with an overview of the historical development of the law. It then discusses the current regime, covering general obligations and certain source-specific obligations. The final section contains conclusions and a discussion of current and future issues.
