This study aimed at introducing the use of the Internet in providing information services in libraries and information centers, as well as clarifying the leading role of the Internet in terms of the purposes of its use and ways to benefit from it through a theoretical study on the description and analysis of the use of the Internet in this and identify the positive aspects in order to promote and develop. I have relied on the documentary and descriptive approach as well as observation through the researcher's professional experience. The results showed that the use of the global network will save a lot of time, effort and costs by investing its potential to perform many direct and indirect services and recommended the need to provide the necessary requirements of equipment and software activities and functions performed by libraries and information centers.

Since the year 2000 libraries' concepts of disaster management, contingency planning and the role of libraries in a major disruptive event have changed dramatically. Libraries have gone from an emphasis on protecting and restoring collections and facilities to an emphasis on service continuity. Although broadband adoption nationwide remains disproportionate at best, the advent and widespread use of the Internet and e-government mean that libraries have become the centers of communication for their communities in a crisis. This chapter will demonstrate the essential role of libraries before, during and after a disaster, both short term and long term and how to get a seat at the table with community planners by demonstrating the functions that are critical to recovery. In order to fulfill this community role, a library first needs to be prepared with its own business continuity plan.

The Internet provides a global network infrastructure that is shifting business models, strategies, and processes. Many authors reflect on the importance of incorporating e-business into the firm’s global strategy. This chapter deals with these issues in discussing the introduction of e-business activities by General Motors Brazil, specifically in connection with the launch of the Celta car, an entry-level car designed to be sold on the Internet. A historical examination of e-business strategy shows that many organizations have formulated excellent conceptual strategies for e-business but failed to deliver sound execution. A key to successful Internet strategies is the leadership shown by senior management. Technological demands may also conflict with the successful implementation of e-business initiatives, requiring greater interaction between the CEO and CIO. The organizational structure implemented for the launching and sales of Celta car warranted the integration between employees on the business side and in IT in the context of GM Brazil’s strategic objective of growing the market share for lower-priced cars.

We are now entering the era of globalization, knowledge economy and learning society with the explosion of information through many channels, in which Internet is the most outstanding. Internet is the global network sytem with diversified and updated information in various fields as well as the tool for communication and information exchange for everyone without limits in time and space. In higher education, the exploitation and the effective use of the Internet to serve teaching, studying and doing scientific research is an urgent need in order to modernize and improve the quality of present-day education, contributing to the widening of knowledge horizon, to the strengthening of critical thinking skills, of creativety and life-long learning capacity. It is necessary to find out the main factors, especially those related to skills and competence, which can influence the efficiency of teachers’ and students’ internet exploitation so as to work out appropriate plans and measures for quality improvement. The paper covers three main areas. Section 1 focuses on the theoretical base of the Internet, Internet users’ activities, and some requirements for effective use of the Internet. Section 2 presents some research outcomes on the factors influencing the extent and efficiency of Internet use in teaching, studying and doing scientific research conducted by USSH-VNU-HCM teaching staff and students. The last section proposes some basic solutions for the improvement of Internet use in teaching, studying and doing scientific research conducted by USSH-VNU-HCM teaching staff and students.

Over recent years, technological developments in the Information and Communications Technology industry have ensured that the internet has become a significant part of man's way of life. For instance, there is tremendous popularity on the use of social sites, electronic commerce, and internet banking. Such use of the internet has created a global network in a cyberspace that connects everyone together regardless of one's geographical location, economic status, religion, or race. As a result, the trade sector, the finance sector, the media industry, and all other sectors that enable the world to run have had to depend on technology for normal function, and on the internet as a way of associating with the public. For instance, the fact that banks have stayed in the forefront of technological advances has led to significant value addition, and improvement of their products and services offered. Therefore, this paper discusses the use of technology in the finance sector, particularly internet banking in today's world, and the various factors associated with it.

The purpose of the paper is to identify the correlation between illegal migration, migration crimes and the use of the Internet resources. The content analysis of advertising sites, social networks in combination with other research methods has revealed that in the virtual space there is both active promotion of services facilitating illegal migration and a wide demand for them. Based on the results of the study, the authors develop the following proposals for improving measures to combat illegal migration in the global network. 1. A strategic direction for countering illegal migration should be the adjustment of the state’s migration policy through the establishment of a correlation between this phenomenon and the use of modern information and telecommunication technologies aiming at organizing and developing a criminal business providing illegal entry, stay (residence) services, fictitious registration, and registration on migration registration, etc. 2. The counteraction to illegal migration in cyberspace should be implemented through an integrated approach. From the perspective of criminal law, it is necessary to add the element “using the media or information and telecommunication networks (including the Internet)” into Part 2 of Art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for the crime elements of the organization of illegal migration. From the perspective of criminology it is important to identify and record the real conditionality of the development of illegal migration, migration crimes and the use of the Internet to commit them; to improve statistical reporting on crime by including information on the organization of illegal migration committed via the media or information and telecommunication networks (including the Internet) in the report of the State Automated Police Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on crimes committed in the field of telecommunication and computer information.

Loon Balloons, the network of balloons which provides Internet for people in rural and remote area, is a recent project undertaken by Google. Though Internet is a global network, large number of people does not have access to it. Loon technology is also helpful in disaster management, e.g.: during floods in Kashmir, where a reliable communication system was not available, Google Loon Balloons could be one of the solutions. These balloons with the help of Wi-Fi technology, help to attain unlimited connectivity to the global community of internet. The Loon Balloons provide connectivity to a ground area of about 40 km in diameter using LTE. Using LTE enabled devices and also through their phones, people can directly access the Internet. Google implemented Loon project in New Zealand in June 2013 as a pilot experiment and now improvements are being made in Loon technology based on the pilot test results.
