Abstract With the upcoming medical Cannabis regulation, quality control methods on raw material will be required. Besides testing for contaminants and potency, there are also pharmaceutical and forensic interests in the determination of the terpene profile in different strains of Cannabis as complementary identification methods. A simple non-destructive HS-SPME GC-MS method was used to identify the terpene content in twelve Cannabis samples, four of them were of the hemp type (Harle-tsu), seven from various marihuana types and one of the intermediate type. They all were previously analyzed by HPLC to determine the potency (THC and CBD content). Spectral library matching was used to identify the terpenes compounds. Thirty terpenes compounds were detected, nine of them were present in all Cannabis samples and used to find their terpene profile: α-pinene, β-pinene, β-myrcene, D-limonene, terpinolene, linalool, caryophyllene, α-bergamotene and humulene. Three of them, caryophyllene, α-pinene and β-myrcene were found as larger components in most of samples. A principal components analyses (PCA) was performed. The four hemp type samples showed two different profiles, two samples showed caryophyllene as main component and the others two with β-myrcene as such. The marihuana type samples showed wider profiles with no clear patterns at all, which is not surprising because of the low number of samples. The simple methodology shows viable to set the terpenes profile for analyses of raw Cannabis material. Suitability for differentiation between different sorts of types needs more studies, with increasing numbers of samples.

Abstract The widespread use of solid-alloy tools in modern engineering makes it necessary to ensure and maintain quality in the process of their production. The use of hard alloy plates of inadequate quality results in the instability of the mechanical processing and, as a consequence, the quality of the processed products in the batch is reduced. Heterogeneity of structure and properties is a significant disadvantage of products of cermet solid alloys as a product of powder metallurgy. They must therefore be subject to 100 per cent quality control. Today, various methods are used in order to control the physical and mechanical properties of products, such as hardness and microhardness of the surface and surface layer. Non-destructive control methods, one of which is a magnetic method based on measurement of the coercive force of an article, are of high priority and potential. A coercimeter instrument is proposed to implement this method. This research gives a description of the principle of its work, the functions performed by individual nodes, their electrical circuits and possibilities.

Abstract At essential components in the composition of artillery weapons, it is important that during the manufacturing and repair processes, to identify, at an early stage, possible non-homogeneities / structural and joining discrepancies, which may lead to major defects and finally the occurrence of some damages in these weapons. Such phenomena can be traced and prevented by non-destructive control methods available to the actors involved. Suggestive in this regard are the methods of control with penetrating, electromagnetic, ultrasound and pressurizing liquids. Ignoring the consequences of the malfunctions can lead to a worsening of the technical condition of the artillery weapons and, implicitly, to their decommissioning.

The article presents the main results of experimental studies on the identification of the main grade defects of oak lumber by the thermal non-destructive testing method. Regressional dependences of wood defects temperature display from the main factors for the studied grade defects are proposed. Indicators of infrared radiation (temperature range) of the main visible oak grade defects obtained as a result of experimental studies are presented. A conceptual scheme for the line control methods of identification of the main grade defects in lumber are proposed.

The purpose of the research consists in improving the theoretical basis for non-destructive quality control methods in the context of digitalization and an active transition to Industry 4.0. The methodology used by authors include the consideration of the logistics network digital twin, as well as globalization of markets and ever-increasing global competition in all areas. The article discusses non-destructive quality control methods based on the process of modeling digital twins and the authors’ approach proves the advantages of just such an innovative concept of expanding the definition of logistics network digital twin in comparison with the traditional methods of non-destructive quality control. It could be shown that this approach eventually leads the ability of industries to switch to digitalization of their processes. Saying precisely the improving of the quality control methods could be treated as digitalization of their supply chains, reflecting the entire product life cycle. We have displayed a digital supply chain, which includes the method of non-destructive testing, like a digital twin. The main difference between the digital supply chain and the traditional supply chain is noted. The ideas of large audit companies such as Gartner’s, Siemens and Deloitte are analyzed. What are the benefits of using a digital twin as a non-destructive testing method? All participants of this digital supply chain receive their benefits in terms of digitalization and market competition.
