The harmonic reducer, with its advantages of high precision, low noise, light weight, and high speed ratio, has been widely used in aerospace solar wing deployment mechanisms, antenna pointing mechanisms, robot joints, and other precision transmission fields. Accurately predicting the performance of the harmonic reducer under various application conditions is of great significance to the high reliability and long life of the harmonic reducer. In this paper, a set of automatic harmonic reducer performance test systems is designed. By using the CANOpen bus interface to control the servo motor as the drive motor, through accurately controlling the motor speed and rotation angle, collecting the angle, torque, and current in real time, the life cycle test of space harmonic reducer was carried out in high vacuum and low temperature environment on the ground. Then, the collected data were automatically analyzed and calculated. The test data of the transmission accuracy, backlash, and transmission efficiency of the space harmonic reducer were obtained. It is proven by experiments that the performance data of the harmonic reducer in space work can be more accurately obtained by using the test system mentioned in this paper, which is convenient for further research on related lubricating materials.

New standards in the automotive industry highlighted the situation of the actual operation of the alternator and a variety of harsh environment simulation limit test. Using new standards in the automotive industry as a guide, this article presents a virtual instrument based on the durability of automobile generator integrated test system. The design adopt virtual instrument technology in designing the system, Graphic language, LabVIEW is applied in writing measure-control program. The system uses a lot of features on LABVIEW, including Data acquisition, control of serials port, etc. Test implementation uses the host computer via RS232 and RS485 communication port and the data acquisition card, NI PCI- 6221, to control the frequency hybrid motor, temperature control box, electronic loads and other intelligent devices, and to simulate a variety of automotive alternator working conditions and real-time monitoring to monitor the status of generators. Using this system, two separate automobile alternators can be tested in terms of high-speed vehicle impact and high temperature durability test and electrical performance test and other tests at the same time. As a result, the generator speed measurement error is within 1%, the control error is within 2%, voltage and current measurement errors were within 0.5% and 0.4%, which meets the requirements.

In this paper, we present a layer assignment method under high-performance multi-chip module environments. In contrast with treating global routing and layer assignment separately, our method assigns nets to layers while considering preferable global routing topologies simultaneously. We take transmission line effects into account to avoid noise in high-speed electronics packages besides the conventional optimization goal such as routability or performance. The problem is formulated as a quadratic Boolean programming problem and an algorithm is presented to solve the problem after linearization. The proposed method is applied to a set of benchmark circuits to demonstrate the effectiveness.

Gas film bearings enable the successful deployment of high-speed micro-turbomachinery. Foil bearings are in use; however, cost and lack of calibrated predictive tools prevent their widespread application. Other types of bearing configurations, simpler to manufacture and fully engineered, are favored by commercial turbomachinery manufacturers. Externally pressurized tilting pad bearings offer a sound solution for stable rotor support. This paper reports measurements of the rotordynamic response of a rigid rotor, 0.825 kg and 28.6 mm in diameter, supported on flexure pivot tilting pad hybrid gas bearings. The tests are performed for various imbalances, increasing supply pressures, and under load-on-pad (LOP) and load-between-pad (LBP) configurations. Presently, the initial condition of the test bearings shows sustained wear and dissimilar pad clearances after extensive testing reported earlier, see Ref. [1]. In the current measurements, there are no noticeable differences in rotor responses for both LOP and LBP configurations due to the light-weight rotor, i.e. small static load acting on each bearing. External pressurization into the bearings increases their direct stiffnesses and reduces their damping, while raising the system critical speeds with a notable reduction in modal damping ratios. The rotor supported on the worn bearings shows a ∼10% drop in first critical speeds and roughly similar modal damping than when tested with pristine bearings. Pressurization into the bearings leads to large times for rotor deceleration, thus demonstrating the little viscous drag typical of gas bearings. Rotor deceleration tests with manually controlled supply pressures eliminate the passage through critical speeds, thus paving a path for rotordynamic performance without large amplitude motions over extended regions of shaft speed. The rotordynamic analysis shows critical speeds and peak amplitudes of motion agreeing very well with the measurements. The synchronous rotor responses for increasing imbalances demonstrate the test system linearity. Superior stability and predictable performance of pressurized flexure pivot gas bearings can further their implementation in high performance oil-free microturbomachinery. More importantly, the measurements show the reliable performance of the worn bearings even when operating with enlarged and uneven clearances.

One important demand on spindle systems in modern machine tools is to realize higher rotational speed in order to increase the machining efficiency. So, the low rotational inertia and high fundamental natural frequency are indispensable. Because of advanced ceramics' extraordinary physical properties such as high hardness, low thermal expansion, light weight, abrasion resistant and good chemical and thermal stability, it accommodates very well the high-speed and precision requirements of machine tool spindles. In this study, a high-speed ceramic spindle system equipped with high-performance structural ceramic shaft and fully-ceramic ball bearings was designed and developed. The high-speed ceramic motorized spindle prototype was assembled with high precision successfully, and its performance test and analysis were finished. The test results show that ceramic motorized spindle can reduce the high-speed rotational centrifugal force and inertia force and increase the stiffness and rotation accuracy of spindle-bearing system greatly.

One of the most important requirements for a high-performance EM, especially an analytical EM using a fine beam probe, is to prevent specimen contamination by providing a clean high vacuum in the vicinity of the specimen. However, in almost all commercial EMs, the pressure in the vicinity of the specimen under observation is usually more than ten times higher than the pressure measured at the punping line. The EM column inevitably requires the use of greased Viton O-rings for fine movement, and specimens and films need to be exchanged frequently and several attachments may also be exchanged. For these reasons, a high speed pumping system, as well as a clean vacuum system, is now required. A newly developed electron microscope, the JEM-100CX features clean high vacuum in the vicinity of the specimen, realized by the use of a CASCADE type diffusion pump system which has been essentially improved over its predeces- sorD employed on the JEM-100C.
